Integrity I cannot count how many times Chip or one of their staff has offered me advice, suggested a more affordable repair or guided me to the best part over what might be the cheapest, but less reliable option. In one case Chip sent me home with instructions on how I could complete a simple repair myself. Service A good shop is always swamped, no exception here. However these guys routinely bend over backwards to find a way to fit my needs into their schedule. They are available when they say they'll be and (barring unforeseen complications) complete work in most cases ahead of schedule. Friendly Never impolite, direct and always willing to explain how something works so you're informed before you authorize a repair. I'm always greeted quickly when I arrive and they usually laugh at my terrible jokes. Fair Sterlings prices are already better than most, but whenever possible they've found ways to cut my costs without sacrificing safely or quality. With vehicle repairs in the past I've felt like I'm paying a lot, but with Sterlings I never have to question the bill. Bottom Line We're not car experts, that's why we go to mechanics in the first place. I can always rest assured knowing that the team at Sterlings are looking out for my best interests over making a sale.

Dishonest car repair shop in Clinton: Sterling Quality Tire Factory in Clinton Utah on 1800 North…read moreby the public trail (next to the car wash and Maverick.) Yesterday a friend of mine took her car in for State Inspection there. The front and rear brakes both failed with 1/32 of brake lining. After removing both front wheels and inspecting the front brake pads, ALL OF THEM had 4 to 5 32nds which is enough to pass. We both took the car back today for an explanation and they pulled it in while we waited in the very nice waiting area. After a short wait, the front end manager came up front with one of the front brake pads. He pointed to a crack in the middle of the pad. Even with the pad off it was impossible to see the crack from the edge and of course they don't remove brake pads for a safety inspection looking for cracks. While repeated asking why the brakes were failed for having only 1/32 of pad, not a crack, the manager refused to answer. He would only say that the brakes failed because of the crack. Even after many, many repeated request that he answer the real question he wouldn't. How do you people reading this think that brake pad got cracked? (Smacked with a hammer after removed, why else would have it been removed if not to show us the defect they had just created?) No shop should work on your car without your explicit permission, usually they require you sign a release for them to work on it. In this case this shop had no permission to remove the brake rotor and pad. That manager I called pretty much every name I know! That went on for some time both before and after the brake pad was replaced and he finally demanded that I leave and I was being dragged out by my friend. We went outside to wait for the car. It was the inspector/mechanic that drove the car out. I asked him if it was he who had inspected the car, he said it was. I asked him why he failed the front brakes with 1/32 when all the front pads had over 4/32? He said that other side was 1/32 as he scurried away (which was a lie.) I'm excited to see what the back brakes look like, they're probably also fine. Complaint will be made to the State Public Safety office that's over vehicle inspections along with the evidence after I change the pads. In the meantime everyone out there should beware of this repair shop, there are at least 2 dishonest employees working there, (but the waiting area rocks!) Sad that they are both dishonest losers!
