I have been going to this place for YEARS for minor things. They ALWAYS take great care of me and go WAY above and beyond doing just their jobs. On more than one occasion, I brought my vehicle in for something and they would top off my fluids and not charge me. They are extremely trustworthy as well--a BIG issue for me as a woman. If I had a nickel for every time an auto place tried to rip me off... Luckily, for the most part, I know better as I know a little bit about vehicles (just enough to be dangerous, lol), and--if I don't know-- I know a few tricks to make sure they are telling me the truth. As an example, this morning I took my vehicle in to have a window regulator replaced. (Yeah, I know, taking my car to a tire place to fix my window??? I did that because, other than them, I don't know of any shops that I can trust. I was there first thing in the morning as they told me cars were services on a "first come first serve basis". They said that they were still backed up from the previous day, and that likely my vehicle wouldn't be ready until closing time at 6pm. Well, I received a call 2 HOURS LATER telling me that my car was ready! They had a pause while working on another vehicle while they were waiting for the parts to fix it...so they pulled mine in and fixed it while they waited! They could've sat around and been lazy while waiting, but instead they took the opportunity to get my car to me MUCH sooner than anticipated. Supplied shop with new lower ball joint bolts in box with note to use them with thread locker. Talked to desk girl more than once about supplied hardware and that it was critical to use new bolts. My wife mentioned it when dropping off the vehicle, too. After about four directives to use the hardware, they did not, and RE USED old STRETCH bolts on new lower ball joints. This is an extreme safety concern. No self respecting technician would do this, let alone a trained one. Where is the communication between whoever is talking on the phone and doing the work??? Why is a technician that clearly does not care at best and lacks training at worst even being employed? We had one simple request, and it was on a note discussed more than a few times Your life is in danger by using this business. Re using lower ball joint hardware is a commonly known trade faux pas, a big fat F U to the customer and absolute disregard for human life, and especially on a 4x4 vehicle. Hopefully I can get my $90 in hardware back because they didn't even have the decency to leave it in the vehicle after not using it. Will bet money without thinking that the re used bolts aren't even torqued to spec, because the lug nuts were WAY over torqued. Just realized y'all re used the castle nuts too even though new ones came in the box ‍ what in the world?? UPDATE: representative for whoever Trav is assured me these "kits" come with the hardware they need and re using bolts is fine. I literally provided the entire OEM "kit" and specifically requested these new provided bolts be installed. I will bring any master tech to your poorly ran business table to kindly explain why re using lower ball joint bolts is a BAD idea in regular practice, but especially on a 4x4 vehicle. There is no good reason to not install them whatsoever, and to attempt to justify the opposite after being asked to install them more than once... ????? They actually dig their heels in on this. Incredible UPDATE: wheel lug nuts torqued unevenly between 80 and 130 ft lbs rather than factory spec 85ft lb. Had to jump on lug wrench for most. Good way to warp brake disc hubs and drums guys UPDATE: They gave us 8 of the 10 new bolts back (gave them 10 in a new unopened bag even though only 8 required), yet there are no new bolts on the vehicle. This is seeming like more than incompetence. LBJ bolts required more than 80 ft lbs to remove after their work, exactly as expected. If you're reading positive reviews about this place second guess them and the authenticity of who's writing them wholeheartedly. I am not a complainer by nature but this is more than unacceptable service. My family's life in danger and probably others; most people would probably never know the difference without having some knowledge or investigating. AVOID this shop like your life depends on it because it might. Also watch out for the petty theft, because maybe they're mad at their workload, or a customer for writing a note that may insult their intelligence if they have a weak ego... nobody will ever know here. They also decided to keep an entire bottle of supplied thread locker they didn't use. UPDATE: Had two front tires put on by actual professionals. Found abs sensor bolt was snapped from attempting to remove for LBJ replacement. I unscrewed the broken piece with my hand. All you had to do was replace the 10mm bolt. Explains why the abs was activating just before coming to a stop - the sensor was all loose with loose zip ties around the wire and knuckle. It seems the "technician" realized he didn't even have to remove it in the first place and the other side sensor bolt appears to be untouched. Do the "technicians" do test drives after their incompetent work is complete? Owner has not attempted to reach out. Nobody takes responsibility for anything. UPDATE: more than 3 photos don't seem to upload, but my brand new upper control arm ball joint nuts are all marred up, as if a monkey wrench or vice grips were used on them..... No reason to loosen or remove that do to the LBJ or tie rods guys. Whoever worked on this vehicle was both negligent, possibly intentionally, and did not have a single solitary clue. It would be nice to ever hear back from anybody about anything. I have worked in and been a patron of this industry for a very long time, and I have never seen or dealt with such unprofessionalism and incompetence in my entire life. It is truly representative of a lost generation of bro workers and people that have zero regard for others, or what is right. Management doesn't seem to exist. See photo for green (oem supplied) bolts. The reason we replace lower ball joint bolts is because less than 100% integrity (or 70% in this case) after more than one use (cycle) is unacceptable for this life/death part. These guys did a phenomenal job. Travis and Angel did such a great job switching out my old stock Ford tires with new rims and tires. To start, I got the price quote and time frames all over Facebook Messenger, then finalized the sale over the phone with a quick call. They paid extra attention to detail and went out of their way to make sure it was done just right. Be careful. I came here to fix my tires (the original tires they gave me had issues from the beginning) and they tried to upsell me $250 for brakes and rotors. Being cautious, I wanted to get a second opinion from an extremely reputable service (Hatches). The second service notified me that the brakes were in good shape and did not have to be replaced for a while. In all, they were able to fix my tire issues (from the tires they originally gave me) though I was offended that they attempted to con me out of $250. I do not trust Trav's Tire Pro's and will now be using this service again. read more

This shop is amazing. My day started out rough with a flat tire. I put on my spare and drove to the shop. As I walked in a friendly employee greeted me and asked how could he help me today. I told him I had a nail in the tire in my trunk. He asked for my keys and said, "We will get you taken care of." In less than 25 minutes, my tire was repaired and the spare was put back in the trunk. I asked how much I owed them and the employee said"Nothing, have a good day!" The will continue to get all of my business. The first issue: We purchased new tires from travs in May 2017. The tires have only 6000 miles on them and the sidewall failed on one of the tires. Travs would not replace the tire because they said it was a road hazard issue. However we took the tire to another place before returning to travs. The other place said it was a tire failure. Travs wanted us to purchase an additional $26 per tire coverage instead. They would not honor the warranty and just blamed us instead by saying there was a nail in the sidewall. Really? No, there was not a nail in the sidewall!!! How would that even happen anyway! The second issue: At five thousand miles we had travs rotate the tires and also asked them to check the air conditioning on the car. They quoted me $800 to fix the air, then when I brought my husband to talk to them, they dropped the price to $500 when they saw the "man" walk in the door. We took my car to another place for a second opinion and it was simply out of fluid and cost us $60 to have fixed. We will NEVER recommend this tire place...Ever!! Do not go there. It has been our experience that they lie, take advantage of women, and are totally incompetent. STAY AWAY! We parked at a nearby business and our car wouldn't start. The manager (didn't get the name) didn't hesitate to send a mechanic to walk back with me. Cody had it diagnosed in 10 minutes as loose batter terminals (it had power but wouldn't turn over). He diagnosed the alternator, starter and battery as good and got the car started so my wife could get home. They didn't charge me and I'll replace the loose terminals on my own. I really appreciated the quick, polite, and helpful service that they didn't even charge me for! read more

I am a resident of Ogden and I will always travel to Layton to visit Trav's, because the customer service and work they provide is second to none. I felt welcome when I walked in, and everyone was polite and informative. My visit to Trav's was for an oil change, inspection on my vehicle to check out a few issues I was having and I required 2 new tires to be put on. My car was handled with care and all the checks and services for my car were accomplished in a timely manner. The best part is that they have great prices and all their services are very reasonable! They were kind enough to bring me in last minute for an inspection and smog. I was happy they could do that. Then they failed my car cause the "tie rod end" were bad and cause the tire sensors were bad. Online the sensors are 29.00 dollars and they wanted 90.00. When i asked about the tolerances for the tie rods the 16 year old mechanic said he couldn't tell me why they failed me. After speaking to the manager about this i felt like he was screwing me and he became quite rude (expected). He also failed me on the brakes...those were bad...Thank you for finding that. I am a garage mechanic and I know a screw job.... My opinion is that they are a dishonest group. I went to Les Schwab in Kaysville to fix the issues after being booted out of Travs and the manager stated that if the car came in with broken sensors that they couldn't fail you. Wish I could choose NO stars. Worst place ever, changed my oil and failed to screw my skid plate back on, brought my car back and they fixed it with a zip tie! Then I was told by the manager this is an appropriate fix for some cars and he blamed me for losing the screw while driving. I asked for a refund and they gave it to me but never offered to correct the issue. Guess what? Zip tie lasted 1 week. Called the manager to let him know and again I was blamed for driving where I shouldn't.. like the freeway and was told he's washing his hands of this and hung up. If you want to be screwed over, go with Travis Tire Pros. The first time I went, I needed to fix my car but instead of talking directly to me, they talked to my boyfriend even though the car was not in his name and I was paying for it. I decided to give them a 2nd chance and so I tried again, this time by myself. They told me they would give me a discount and the tires would cost $70 each. When I came back to pick up my car, the price changed to more than $100 each. Then, they added a tire warranty for each tire without asking me and had me pay for it before showing me what I was paying for. Don't go even once. Avoid this establishment at all costs. They will do nothing but waste your time and your money. After charging me double what they quoted me and taking over six hours longer on their labor I was presented with a car that wasn't even safe enough to drive home. Another $500 later (after the initial cost of over $1200 dollars. Literally double over what I was quoted) I STILL DON'T HAVE A CAR. The vehicle that was returned to me had its battery drained in a single evening since the incompetent mechanics at this establishment wired my brake lights to only turn off WHEN I BRAKED. Explain that level of incompetence to me because I can't comprehend it. But wait there's more! Once they'd finally fixed this mistake (right before they closed) the mechanic responsible called me 8 minutes before the shop closed as if wanting to add insult to injury. How am I supposed to make it to your establishment on that short of notice? Upon arriving at their establishment (6 minutes after closing) I found my car UNLOCKED and sitting in their lot. The employees here were willing to let my car sit alone in a parking lot til 8AM. I'm still baffled at this. I still don't have my car. I'm baffled at this point. I've been going to this establishment for years how on earth could they treat any person this way? If anybody has a number or an email for their corporate offices it'd be greatly appreciated so that I can vent this to someone who can actually reprimand these awful employees. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE IN AN AUTO SHOP I HAVE EVER HAD! I went into Travs's Tire Pros of Layton UT to get a safety and Emissions inspection and walked out with a shattered rear brake drum, being cursed out and they had the audacity to charge me for THEIR MISTAKE. They started to beat on my rear break drum with a large hammer so loudly that I walked out and told them to stop. I went back inside and again heard the banging and walked told them to stop doing any work on the truck, put the tires back on the truck and I would go elsewhere. The bald-headed guy working on my truck PRECEDED TO CURSE ME OUT AND THREW A TANTRUM USING EVERY WORD IN THE BOOK. But remember they state on their web site that "They are the best" and "Professional", that's when he told me they had shattered the rear drum and the car was undrivable. Any competent mechanic, knows that is not how to remove a rear brake drum. The incompetence at this shop was beyond astounding. In 20 years of safety and emissions at shops I have 1. never had someone beat on my truck and 2. damage it to the point of being undrivable after they did the inspection, but that changed yesterday at Trav's Tire Pros. O AND THE BIG CATCH . . . IS THE MORON TOLD ME HE WOULD MAKE IT RIGHT. . . LOL . . . BY CHARGING ME FOR THE BROKEN DRUM.
