I found everything I needed, no problem there, place is clean and well stocked. Very impressed with the inventory. My only concerning issue(s) were this: I walk in at 8:45pm was told that I would only be able to pay using a credit/debit card. I only need about 12 bucks of stuff so that was okay. But my question is then, Why does the cash register close before the store? I mean maybe there's a genius reason I don't understand. But wouldn't you think you'd need the cash register to be available while you're open? I mean how much time are you trying to save getting out this Friday night? I asked why they were closing at 9:00pm when on this very app they are listed as being open till 10. Again the answer surprises... I was told it was due to daylight savings. That it got dark quicker so they closed earlier. They said this completely seriously, which prompted me to laugh. I mean, they have lights. You would think most garages that fix cars have a power tool. Most likely the garage would have a light to fix the car after the sun goes down too. That reason is like saying Autozone can fix you your vehicle right up, but just hurry because we're afraid of the dark. My sister and I went to this specific AutoZone because of its close convenient location to Downtown Reno. My sister was visiting during a snowstorm last weekend and needed snow chains to get back home. This was due to severe weather and road conditions requiring mandatory chains on all vehicles unless equipped with 4x4 and snow tires. This AutoZone gave me exceptional customer service, and help over the phone and in-store from another employee. The employees were knowledgeable helpful and friendly. AutoZone serves a purpose BUT they are not the mechanic. Yes. They have the parts and the knowhow to fix a car BUT they are only going by what you tell them or a vague code they find from your ECU, not actually looking at the car to see what's happening. Keep that in mind and take the advice given with a grain of salt, and investigate everything before proceeding down any specific path of repair. I stopped into this location to check out one of those codes recently and found it was just the beginning of my issue. AutoZone checks these for free and it is a good place to start, but it is hardly the whole picture, so proceed with caution. Between that code and YouTube I was able to sort out quite a few things on my own, and when I asked the manager for help, he gladly helped me find the coolant I needed and showed me how to refill the reservoir to make my car mobile again. I truly appreciated his extra effort and time walking me through things, but again, this was just a bandaid. Some of the advice he offered was clearly good, but after taking the car to a mechanic, it turned out some wasn't all that great. Overall, if you're mechanically inclined and understand what you're looking at, AZ could be a lifesaver. If you're like me, consider all options! read more

CHECK THE SCREEN BEFORE YOU PURCHASE! I came in on 07/09/2020 to pick up a new battery for my Subaru. It took him 5 minutes to acknowledge me despite the store being empty. He then proceeded to get what I needed rang me up and I noticed that he added an air filter for 10$ which I did not ask for. So I asked him to remove it which he did but then rambled on about selling me 2$ terminal protecters which I agreed too. Turned out they were 5$. I'm upset this guy had to push sales to scam me. One morning I had the WORST morning of my life, including the fact that I needed to get a new battery for my car and I had somewhere to be at 8am. So I walk in as soon as the doors open at 7:30am and saw one young lady working the counter who goes by the name of Jessica. Despite seemingly working the store all on her own (she was the only one in there), she was very pleasant and was very understanding of my immediate need. I bought a battery for my 2004 Mercedes from AutoZone, it was their best battery, it cost $159.00 and only lasted three years. It replaced the original battery that came with the car. The original battery lasted 15 years, the battery from AutoZone lasted three. What kind of cheap crap do they sell? I used to buy die hard batteries from Sears, they would last about eight years. I came in to the store today looking for some assistance with my air conditioner. I was helped by one of the managers, Jessica, and I have to say that her service was exceptional and her willingness to help was evident throughout my entire visit. She went above and beyond anything I ever expected and for that I am extremely thankful. I need fluids, mainly transmission fluid. My ptcruzer needs a transmission overhaul, and the car isn't worth $$ it. I purchased a "stop leak" from another store and it didn't work. It was recommended I find a thick one. So here I am at autozone, fluids broken up around the store, fine but I can't find the tiny transmission fluid area. Big guy asks me if I need help, "Yep!" I tell him what I'm looking for, he grabs random bottle and hands it to me, completely ignoring what I'm saying to him. I mention this. He says, "Maybe you can add oil, let me ask my manager..." and walks away. Fine, I'll wait. I hear big dude yappin about family stuff with random dude. I walk over and he has struck up convo with the Loomis driver on his way to see the manager. I said, "Going to talk to your manager?" He says, "I'm getting there" Loomis guy makes some derogatory remark, I say "what ev!" Jerks. Manager comes over, all loud "What can I help you with??!?" I said, "The poor customer service...." "I'LL TAKE CARE OF THAT, HOW CAN I HELP YOU??!?" "Antifreeze." He continued to be loud, saccharine sweet, and passive aggressive. These people need to get with the times. Driving down the road all of a sudden lights pop up...one auto zone down Virginia St couldn't help me, because their machine was down, but suggested I try this auto zone. Nelson was employee who helped me. He was awesome. Super nice & honest. He properly diagnosed the issue & found me the best deal on the part I needed to replace. I absolutely appreciate him & his service. I usually run into some lazy auto zone employees but he's not one of them. He's on it. Not only did he figure out my issue but he checked a couple other things to see if I was going to have further issues. He's very knowledgeable. This will be my autozone of choice. My Jeep would die whenever I came to a stop sign. I had just bought a new battery at Costco and thought the battery was dead. Costco sent me to AutoZone. Gorden tested my battery,said it was fine and then checked my alternator. The alternator was bad. Gorden was very helpful and knowledgeable. Since his store didn't have the alternator I needed he called several other stores until he was able to get the part. Then he had a worker go pick it up! I got the alternator installed and was able to get home that very day. I will be a loyal customer and highly rate Gorden for his great customer service and going above and beyond the minimum to help a customer in need. read more

Shady, shady business practice here. Called and got a price quote, got here and the part jumped up $10. There was "nothing they could do" except to give me 10% off ($3). I was buying other stuff-had they offered 10% off everything to get close to the $10, I would have known they were at least trying to make it right. read more
