Since it doesn't rain a whole lot in SoCal, at least before the upcoming El Niño, I've been putting off replacing the windshield wipers for the longest time until a tire shop and a service center both strongly recommended I get my windshield wipers replaced. I finally made time to stop by an AutoZone since they're a little more inexpensive than at the tire shop, not to mention if they do free battery testing, I figured they could install the windshield wiper blades at no additional charge. This AutoZone is located on the northwest corner of Del Amo and Woodruff. If you recall where the old 99 Cents Only store was, AutoZone is a few steps north of the store, which is now a seemingly ubiquitous Dollar Tree. As soon as I came in, an employee named Robert opened the door for me, though he went outside for a bit to get some fresh air. His co-worker, whose name I didn't get, offered to assist since I was pretty much the only customer inside the auto parts shop. I asked if AutoZone would install windshield wipers if I were to purchase them here, and he answered affirmatively while looking up the windshield wiper sizes for my particular vehicle. After providing him the year, make, and model of my vehicle, he confirmed the wiper blade sizes and directed me to Aisle 2, which housed a plethora of different wiper blades. Most of the brands were Duralast and TotalPro, but I know the website lists several other brands; I just happened to "zone" in on those two brands lol. The employee initially pointed towards the higher end Duralast wiper blades, but also mentioned that since it doesn't rain too often, the cheaper ones from TotalPro should suffice for my car. I also had to consider conventional wiper blades vs the wiper blades that perform better in inclement weather, the latter of which could cost twice as much as the former. After some deliberation, I went with the conventional TotalPro wiper blades, which in total was just over $23 with tax. There were three remaining driver-side wiper blades, and two had slight rips on the exterior of the packaging. Even though those rips were pretty academic, I went with the blades with the intact packaging. Also, while I was looking through select wiper blades, I had noticed that the packaging for the Duralast conventional blades was suspect. Like I saw the back was ripped out and taped back together again, leading me to think they were bought and then returned. When I checked out, Robert had already come back inside and rang me up for the wiper blades, though it took him a while since he was also chatting with his co-worker, who had just helped me with the blade sizes to choose. Upon checking out, Robert asked if I was an AutoZone rewards member, which I was not. He offered to register me right on the spot, but I also asked what that would have entailed. His co-worker did more of the explaining, saying that since my purchase was over $20, I would get one credit, and when I accumulate five of these credits, I'd get a $20 credit on my next visit. The credits do expire after a year, however, but I registered anyways since he also mentioned it was free to sign up and not a paid subscription. To make things faster, he also recommended bypassing my email address upon registration, which would mean that I wouldn't be able to get receipts emailed to me since my email address wouldn't show up in their system. After all that was done, Robert went out to my car to replace my windshield wipers. While Robert was installing the new windshield wipers on my car, a random passersby was asking for a repair shop that could replace one of his belts on his Mercedes. Robert suggested Allen Tire, Mountain Tire, or Cruz Tires, though the passersby was still unsure since they are tire shops and not belt shops. Despite the distraction, it didn't take long for Robert to install my new windshield wipers, and he also put my old wiper blades in the packaging of the new blades, taking them back inside the store. Not sure what they do with the old blades from paying customers, but now I can call them history lol. Overall, not too bad of a visit to this AutoZone. I wouldn't mind coming back next time I need a battery check or even another set of wiper blades. I tested the wiper blades upon driving out of the parking lot, and they seemed to work just fine. One employee's kindness really stood out to me. I came in around 8 PM to get my car battery replaced. The person at the front counter had a displeased expression and brusquely told me that it was late, there were only two people working, and I should go ask the other employee myself if the service was possible--this while he was sitting at the counter and checking her phone. Since my car was having trouble starting, I bit my tongue and approached Ethan, who was helping another customer at the time. When I asked if he could help with a battery replacement afterward, he was incredibly kind, took the time to explain everything clearly, and got it done. If a manager reads this, I hope the employee who was sitting at the counter on his phone around 8 PM on April 18 gets a warning for his rudeness. Closed an hour early on a Friday. Told them I was gonna get my receipt from my house really quick for a refund since I forgot it around 8:40 PM. I come back 7 minutes later and they already locked the doors and turned off the lights outside at 8:56 PM. If I'm not mistaken, their closing time is at 10, or at least that's what it says on yelp. I got to meet Jesus via an ACCIDENT! My car indicated that my left turning signal was out ‍, not only that but my mechanic who I had just left from said as he gave me the housing part with the bulb, that I had burned the the housing unit too (see why it was an accident?) Jesus' site did not have the housing unit, he referred me to the Cerritos Dodge Dart as in the area. I went there and THEY. ONLY. ONE. IN. STOCK! Thank you LORD GOD for FAVOR! I don't understand the negative reviews for here. Place is stocked up on everything. Gabriela is absolutely amazing. She went above and beyond and helped me find the part I needed that was only in stock at another autozone. Other stores were lazy and refused to look up part numbers when called to double check if the part was in stock; Gabriela called the managers for me and got the confirmation I needed. This is going above and beyond for the customer and I can't express how appreciative I am for her efforts. I needed to replace my rear window wiper arm and I was struggling to remove the old wiper arm. I looked on you tube and it showed a guy using a special tool to remove the arm. I went to my local autozone and found employee Antonio and he knew exactly what I needed, which was a tie rod remover and told me he had one he could loan me. He sold me some lubricant to spray on and I used the tie rod remover and the wiper arm was off in seconds. Great advice. I love my local autozone. read more

We had $86 worth of products and were waiting for the cashier to get a code from the manager for a military discount. The cashier asked several times for the code and was told to wait a minute. After approximately 10 minutes of waiting, my husband asked the manager to please hurry up, and was told "just a minute" again, and the two employees were still looking and waiting. Bought Bosch Envision wipers from this place a few months back. I didn't get to installing them until yesterday. When I opened the package, it was a USED wiper. I couldn't tell that it was an opened pack due to the Bosch packaging. Whoever returned their old wipers got away with it and this place didn't check and SOLD it to me. What's worst is that I bought 3 wipers. Before purchasing I asked the guy at the front desk if the back wiper would fit my car. He confirmed that it would and I purchased it. So with a total of 3 wipers purchased, I only have 1 that actually fit my car. I live down the street and go to this place often for parts. Sadly I will no longer go. Went there today to have them give me the right one and they said i should go to Gardena, they ptobably have it. And they didnt want to give me my money back...$23 bucks. I came here today to buy windshield wipers and headlights. Chris helped me with my purchase. He was polite and showed good customer service. I was shocked and very thankful that he offered to put my windshield wipers on for me. After he put the wipers on he offered to change my head lights as well. My car is old 2002 Honda CRV, Chris recommended a product to clean my headlights so I can see better at night. I went in the store and bought the product he recommended. I only had a few dollars in my purse and a Target gift card, I offered it to him but Chris politely declined. Thank you for excellent customer service Chris.
