The staff is a knowledgeable but not always friendly. The business always seems understaffed and there is always a wait to get to the register to pay or request a part. Every time I go, there's a line, even during the week. I think the management would do well to hire a few more employees rather than just have one or sometimes two at the register when there's 15 people in line. Other than that, the store is clean well it seems to have a good supply of items. I usually find what I need and don't have to shop elsewhere. Even though I only gave them four stars, I do continue to shop here and if you live in Kyle, it's probably the best auto parts store in town. read more

i couldn't install the wiper blade I purchased on Amazon, so I took it to Auto Zone for assistance. Instead of trying to sell me a new set, the very nice woman stepped outside and quickly put the Amazon blade in the wiper arm. I came here first to vato zone..,and then went to oreilly and let me tell you the difference is night and day.. Employee at the zone asked if I needed help I said I do. I was looking for a metric flare nut for my alternator installation since new one didn't match. Anyways he directed me to the exhaust section. I told him, how about you look up the alternator and let me see if any of the hardware I brought is a match. That way I could nail down which metric size I needed. He said no. The alternators they sell don't have required hardware. Liar! He didn't even care to look and walked off. O Reilly same question, he pulled one out of the box and I was out of there in 5 minutes with what I need. Highly recommend O Reilly store instead. read more

I had the most bizarre experience this weekend which necessitated me going to Autozone FIVE TIMES. Battery wouldn't charge over 25% but was still testing as "good" and I'm well within the 3 year warranty. Autozone was set to honor the warranty only to find that while I previously came up in the system on my first and second time into the store this weekend, I seemed to have been completely wiped from it upon the third. Managers Jay and Urie both were super helpful, calling different stores and corporate to try and get to the bottom of the situation. I went home and managed to find a receipt from 13 months ago that showed my purchase--they scanned it and it came up in their system as "transaction not found". I've literally been wiped from the system somehow. After another call to the main office, Urie was able to honor the warranty and give me another battery (though I still don't show up in the system, even after this transaction). Cannot express my gratitude enough! (Now...got the battery installed and my car is still not working but at least I'm a step closer to figuring out what the issue actually *is*). read more

Close behind the dentist as my most dreaded spots to have to visit, anything vehicle related is a close second. I'm not well versed in cars so I don't know if I'm getting ripped off, the overall workings of the car doesn't interest me and I don't have time to research what I need. Well I went out Sat on a date and she got sick sitting in my car and we determined it could be my air filter. I researched on the net how to fix it then called AutoZone. On the phone they were extremely helpful in terms of "yes fixing it yourself is easy and yes we have the parts you need!" The phone conversation gave me the confidence I needed to try a fix myself. Walking in must be a NASCAR fans toystore but for me I wasn't interested in walking around aimlessly admiring mufflers or fantasizing about installing a new fuel converter. One of the people came up to me and asked if they could help. I said I called earlier and they had my part right behind the counter, no browsing needed! They even briefly told me how to install it. I'm not going to say I enjoyed my time there as I don't dig car stores, but it was clean, the people friendly and my time was brief. I couldn't have asked for a better pop in encounter. Also the prices were reasonable. The next time my vehicle needs parts I'm going to "get in the zone, Autozone" and I recommend you do the same if you have auto needs. read more

Gave recommendations on what would be best to fix the problem and most cost efficient. He was very friendly and helpful. Completely incompetent. Went in to buy an engine air filter and windshield wiper blade. Bought the blade he picked out. Told the guy I didn't know how to install the blade-he said it's easy. Get home and am trying to put it on and it won't go on. Windshield wiper crashes into my windshield and cracks it. Engine air filter was too big. I go back and found out he sold me both things that were wrong for my car. The wiper wouldn't even fit on my car because it's completely wrong. Air filter was incorrect also. Manager wasn't too concerned and just kept saying "wow he sold you the wrong stuff". Still waiting for a call back after contacting the regional office. Now I'm out over $550 for the windshield trying to force on a wiper that would never fit. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

Kendrick was super helpful and knowledgeable! He went above and beyond to help us change the battery on my Yukon when O'Reilly wouldn't even try to touch it! We first went to O'Reilly because there was less cars compare to Auto Zone (can you guess the reason??) Kendrick walked all the way to O'Reilly to change the battery for us since we couldn't start the car. If you need to choose in between O'Reilly and Auto Zone.... It's a no brainer!! I had the dreaded "click-click-click" sound with no ignition! My flux-capacitor was dead! I headed over to my local big box store to check on replacement costs. WoW!! Battery prices have gone up dramatically since my last purchase of one! I decided to comparison shop, and my local AutoZone had always treated me well. The Manager, Albert, was very friendly and helpful. We found that my specific battery was available and was even more expensive here. He advised to give him a moment and he would see what he could do. He price matched the battery I needed. His professionalism and demeanor interacting with me and other customers was very apparent. Valente is the worst. Two nights in a row I have come here. He takes the longest to get your order. Said over the phone he had a part in stock. Show up 15min later. Looks around for 5 minutes & simply says well we don't have it. Every time I come here(2-4xaweek) no one greets you or even seems remotely concerned about if they can help you. Only people that make you feel like they want to help are the two Hispanic woman. My luck I never know when they work or their schedule. This store needs management training bad. I've stopped in here a few times for this and that... I had to get a new battery for my truck, not only were they nice, they installed it for me for no cost. A friend changed their oil themselves and Autozone happily took the old oil (it's the law, but they were really nice about it anyways). But.. the reason I decided to review it finally is my experience last Saturday. I went to get my inspection sticker on my car at another local place and was told both of my break lights were out. So, I headed over to Autozone. I approached the counter and said "My brake lights are out and I know absolutely nothing about cars. Can you help me?" After she got the info about my car, she grabbed the lights I needed and headed out to the car. She popped the covers off, replaced the lights, made sure they worked, and closed it up. Her name was Ana. She did an amazing job. I told her about my battery cable being loose, and she got a part for that and fixed it as well. Again... no cost. I have ALWAYS been treated great by this location. They have never made me feel like an idiot for not knowing a thing about cars, and they've always been very nice about showing me what they are doing so I can do it myself the next time. I went in today to dispute an added charge on the item I had purchased the day prior. Upon entering, I see several people standing in a line that is clearly marked with a sign that says "Enter here - parts, returns, exchanges, testing." Upon seeing this, I also see an employee by the name of Justin G. who is in the cash register area helping another patron. Behind said patron, are two girls standing in what appears to be a whole other line for the cash registers. Since I was not there to do any of the items listed on the sign where the other folks were at, I decided to stand behind the two females since all I have to do is dispute the receipt I have. Once Justin G. finishes with the customer he was helping, he asks the two girls in front of me if they are ready to pay. With him asking them this, I truly believed that Justin G. was the designated employee helping those that didn't need parts, returns, exchanges , or returns. Justin G. then starts to flirt with the girls who are buying a car battery. Justin G. even goes as far as using his own personal rewards card so that the girls can get a 20% discount on their purchase. By this time, another customer stands behind me because he too is simply buying something. Once Justin G. is done helping the girls, I move up to his register. I then start talking to him about the error on the receipt, when he tells me that I should have been standing in line. I then tell him that I'm not doing any of the listed items on the sign for the other line. Justin G. then tells me that said line is the only line that they have and that I should have been standing in said line. Justin G. then tells me that I need to get in line and proceeds to help the next customer who was standing in line. Due to others having arrived after me and having gotten into the line, I was now having to stand behind 2-3 customers that came in after me. As Justin G. walks out to test a battery, the male customer that was standing behind me on the other line, asks Justin G. "If we're ready to pay, do we stand here?" Justin G. tells him yes, and that he'll have to wait till the next employee can help him. In my mind I'm thinking "WTF?!??!" My turn finally comes up and Volante helps me out. Volante fixes the error and prints out a receipt that he hands to Justin G. I then ask Justin G. why he made me move lines and he states that he didn't see that I was standing in line. I then told him that I was behind the girls, but that he made me move to the other line. Justin G. then tells me " I wasn't aware that you had moved to another line." I then reminded him that he was the one who told me to move to the other line. Justin G. was not professional. He obviously showed favoritism towards the two girls. He was real eager to help them, but not me. I sincerely hope that management reads this so they can see the type of employee's they are hiring. read more

So I came here because I was driving around for work and my battery light turned on and my lights began to dim down (can you feel the panic). So I mapped the nearest autozone and this one was the closest. I slowly drove there and was automatically helped! I told them this was my second time at autozone in the past 3 months for my battery acting funny. Apparently whoever wrote my last purchase in the system didn't do it properly and I still had warranty. The manager Cass (she's fuckin amazing) honored my warranty set me up with a new battery! Thank all you guys so much for getting my girl back on the road my 2000 Chevy Silverado is feeling way better! If you want to get ripped off and blown off by clowns who won't give you the time of day and love to blame their suppliers for their own incompetence, go ahead and do business with these idiots. Otherwise go to a reputable auto parts store like Orilleys, NAPA, A-Line or anyone else really. I bought a re-manufactured engine through them a year ago which subsequently failed about two months ago. They told me they processed the claim those two months ago, but the engine never came. They were called several times a week for FIVE weeks and kept up the same story of "oh the engine is on its way". I called bullshit on them and subsequent investigation revealed that "Rick" who is the incompetent parts guy in the back never placed the order! Good show for lying for weeks. My mechanic and I confronted Rick the clown about it last Friday, which was two weeks later and told him to get the damn order in, which he said he did. Well come today which is almost a week later, still no engine! I got fed up with Rick the clown and contacted Autozones engine supplier directly and in the entire 8 weeks, they never even heard from Rick! It's a wonder this clown still has a job when he just gives lip service and lies to your face while not giving a toss. read more

Called in to get pricing on brakes and rotors. The man on the phone was amazing. Got me pricing and put the parts on hold. Went to pick the parts up and saw keychain alarm batteries for my car so I purchased one and the lady even replaced it for me. When I went to pay for my items she saw my military ID and mentioned she would apply the military discount for me. I hadnt even thought to ask considering the issues I was having with the car. Sorry but I avoid this place. THE GUYS AND GALS BEHIND THE COUNTER ARE GREAT BUT, AutoZone themselves under-estimated how many customers they would get at this location. It needed to be bigger and more terminals to help more customers. It needs to be expanded because 9 out of 10 times I go there I have to wait way to long to check out even when I grab products or parts from the shelves myself. So true story here: A friend who was also there one time waiting in line with me (must have been ask 50 questions to the sales associate before you decide you just need an air freshener day). We were talking about how busy it always is at this place. I finally gave up, told my buddy later and went to the Buda store (which apparently AutoZone learned they have a lot of customers in Hays County and made this store a little bigger) to get what I need. I am about 5 months or so late on writing this review but Joshua B. needs his credit. All of the mechanics in town were hitting me with $300 bills - I needed a new mass air flow sensor and there was no way I was going to let a mechanic get away with charging me that much. On my way home to Austin from San Marcos my car started acting up so I pulled into AutoZone and Joshua assisted me. Not only did the staff provide EXCELLENT service to everyone walking in, Joshua offered to help change my mass air flow sensor and it turned out I needed a new filter as well. He saved me $200 and even though it was hot as hell outside he fixed my car with a smile on his face. I couldn't be happier with my experience! Thank you SO much Joshua!! read more

I was very impressed with the level of service I received today from Mr. Reyes. He approached me as I was looking in my car manual and offered to help. All I needed was to discuss my plan and figure out if I need backup fuses for my cigarette outlet since I'll be using an inverter throughout my road trip. He showed me where my fuse box is located in my car and how easy it would be to replace each fuse. He made me comfortable with my decision to wait to buy the fuses but I did need windshield wipers.
