Jorden at location 06867 should be terminated, reprimanded, demoted, transferred for his unprofessionalism. As an elite member for the last several years I have been to many locations and every single auto parts store that exist I am a regular premium customer to all of them because I buy and sell quite a few cars. Just got a 2011 Acura RDX turbo and needed something very simple as a relay. Advance Auto has one of the best online fitment and purchase to pick up systems in place. Found the part I needed so I decided to just go pick it up. I showed up I tried to buy two of them but they only had one, the guy who rang me up was very professional and polite. Took the part went in the parking lot did not even have it in my possession for 2 minutes and it did not work properly. I then walked back into the store with my receipt I had for 2 minutes. The guy Jorden said that it was the wrong part looked up the correct part and the correct part was four times the price of the one that I purchased. I agreed to pay the extra money since they had it in stock so I was ready to do an exchange. He then looked at me and told me he refuses to exchange it and refuses to give me a refund. At first I thought he was joking but he was not. He refused to exchange or refund it not because of policy but because he told me to my face "you ordered the wrong part" and then he talked trash about the guy that rang me up as if it was his fault. I also have a screenshot that says it's an exact fit for the part that I purchased and then he said that the fitment is always incorrect. I've been buying at advance Auto for years and just relocated to the area and this is the nearest location and very seldom does advance Auto make a mistake on the fitment. I then told Jorden that his response and attitude is unacceptable and I will be complaining. He then said to me "I don't care". So basically advance Auto has this guy named Jorden who doesn't care about customers, who trashes his employees and also talks trash about the online fitment system. In the end I took the part that he refused to refund or exchange which I was willing to buy but due to his attitude I refuse to spend more money with him. Went a mile or so down the road and bought it from another company or I bought an extra one I should say because I needed to purchase two of them. So once I went to the other competitor location (who was actually a lot more professional than this rude jerk Jorden) I put the new part in the car along with the part that he said was my fault that I ordered the wrong part. I am also including a picture of exact fitment because this guy Jorden said it was not exact fit. The end result was I originally purchased the correct part I just needed two of them and they only had one. The main point of this is this guy Jorden is 100% wrong I had the original part as the website stated, the cashier guy was correct and I was correct. The only person here that was actually wrong was Jorden. It seems he doesn't have respect for the company that he works for or his employees or his customers. In addition to this I contacted the corporate complaint as of today it has been a couple of days and I was told I would be contacted by a team leader at this location. I never got a contact from the team leader so even the corporate here or the local location is failing to do their job. I have many friends I've made in advance autos just because I'm a regular and never before has anyone been so unprofessional and ridiculous. I don't really work well with guys that think they know everything and trash everything around them and this seems to be the case. So I'm sure that if corporate decides to respond to this it will be a basic templated response that says I'm sorry you had a bad experience, blah blah but then do nothing about it and let this guy run off their business. Michelle, the manager, was a Godsend in helping me have peace of mind with my vehicle issue that happened on 13Jan2023. It was night already and getting late, a couple of hours before the store closed. Michelle even went out of the way to do a diagnostic after my check engine light went on. And that is even after she already eagerly and generously went outside to check on my vehicle the initial time when the check engine light was not yet on, to check my transmission area to confirm that my vehicle does not have a dipstick by default to test fluid levels. Michelle even called a mobile mechanic to give free advice that enabled me to safely head back home from Austin to San Antonio TX the night my vehicle acted up. We need priceless people like Michelle. I encourage all to check her out at her store. A return customer I met at the store shared the same impression as I did -- highly satisfied. Advanced Auto Parts store 05835 has amazing customer service. NO OTHER AUTO PARTS store could help me with air shocks for my car because all document references showed no air shocks were available. Rod Staley (store manager) by phone said, we can figure something out. I came into the store and Rod was away but Lorenzo helped. Like Rod, his can do attitude and customer service was amazing. Lorenzo took the time to call the manufacturer (while the phones and walk-in customers were crazy busy). Lorenzo patiently explained, was given an applicable air shock, and thanked the technical support for their time. He not only found a part for me but gained a customer for life. I had to stop here to get my battery checked due to previous car issues. The place wasn't busy so an employee helped us immediately. My car's battery was in fact great. My husband explained the issue that my car is currently having. We explained we called up the dealer and they thought it could be a battery issue which didn't make any sense. Anyway the employee said he had a similar issue and to check the fuses. We checked the fuses later and they all were good. Overall the customer service was great. read more

On new years eve I got a notification for one of my brake lights going out. I only had my truck for about a year and a half; it seemed odd. Did some research and it turns out Ram trucks have a problem with the 3rd brake light on the top going out quickly because the seal isn't that great. I used YouTube to find out how to seal it better, but that didn't turn my brake light on. So therefore I went to advanced auto parts. It was new years day and the store was pretty empty at about 1pm. I told the employee my problem and he immediately mentioned that it was most likely the 3rd brake light. I asked him to check my brake light and he agreed. I went outside, turned on my truck and stepped on the brakes. Back inside he said that it was the top brake light and went to find me the exact one. Unfortunately, they were out, but with some quick thinking he recommended a different number bulb saying it would fit and do the exact same thing (later on at a different store a different brand listed both numbers on the same packaging so he was right). Their selection on bulbs were a little depleted. I then went home and installed the light and it fit, but the notification didn't go away until I turned on my truck a second time. So it worked! Saved some money not going to a mechanic. I'd definitely shop here again if I needed anything auto related. read more

I was looking for a turn indicator relay and was refused service. The guy behind the counter repeatedly looked at my chest with a smirk and told me it was too complicated and that I need to go to a mechanic. I contacted customer support and they said the manager would email me but he never did. I've been fixing minor problems on my car for years and never experienced anyone not wanting to help me because I'm female. We walked in looking for jumper cables, so you already know today has been a day. When we walked in there were 6 associates working and no one else in the store. Everyone was too busy arguing with each other to ask if we needed help or if they could direct us in a certain direction. When we finally gave up looking for jumper cables we asked someone for help. The associate replied "we usually hide them by the batteries"....okay, duh, but maybe just hold the attitude next time. Just go to a different chain or order whatever you need on Amazon. read more

I'm glad this place happens to be right across the street 'cause when you have a car as old as mine, it can come in handy. I drove in and told Miguel (probably one of the friendliest employees I've ever encountered) I had a dead battery. He went out to my car, tested it, confirmed death on arrival, and got to measuring the corpse in order to fit her with a new one. The store was kinda busy, so it took him a while to get me my new battery, but with install I was in and out of there in less than 40 minutes. Truly awful service. When I went to purchase a bottle of brake fluid, the cashier made several comments on my body and generally made me feel uncomfortable. He was wildly inappropriate and unprofessional. When I went to return said brake fluid (turns out I didn't need it), the cashier told me that he didn't know how to process returns and that the person that did went to "the facilities" and that I would have to wait for them to return. I waited for over ten minutes. When this person did finally arrive, it was the same cashier from my first visit. If you can, avoid this location, or try another auto store altogether. read more

Oh YAY, let's keep the five stars rolling on this location. This past week, I had been driving back and forth from Oklahoma to Austin on personal business, and while I was in OK., they experienced a severe cold snap, so the temperature dropped about 40-50 degrees overnight (this is common there) but once I drove back to humid Austin, my battery died. I was more than irked, because I did not realize that moderate temperature changes made the battery work harder, and I bought the battery in November 2007 (because that is what the sticker said) from an Advanced Auto Parts up north. I did not realize when I bought the battery back then that it automatically had a 2 year warranty. So when I brought it to this location, Graham (HE IS THE NICEST GUY, by the way) determined that the battery needed replacement and I was still under warranty, so I paid nothing. He put the new battery in, letting me know that I still have a new 2 year warranty on this one, too!!! I was very happy about that. He took out the old battery and put the new one in, and was WONDERFUL about it all! Thank you, Graham, and thank you for this location!! I wanted to tell y'all what a valuable employee, Santos, AAP has at this location. I have come in twice & both times he has gone above & beyond to give great service & great advice. When I told him I would change the other tail light he told me about a tricky bolt setup. And the first time AAP didnt carry the part I needed (a visor) so he tried to give me other options to help avoid the dealership mark-up & told me the kind of tool I would need. Both experiences have made me an AAP patron for life! read more

I bought a filter there today. I gave the man the correct car info and he gives the part and I take it home. Once home I see it is the wrong part. I drive all the way back to the store and another employee gives me the correct part using the same info. The correct part costs two dollars and change more than the one I was originally sold and charged for. I had to pull out the credit card and pay the difference. If he would have waived the additional couple bucks due to my having to come all the way back to the store, I would be a dedicated repeat customer. Not the case. Those days are over. They lost me as a repeat customer. There are plenty of other stores to choose from. read more

I had the pleasure of working with a tall gentleman (didn't think to catch his name), who was extremely helpful and walked me around the store to find each item I needed. Amazing how the same company and different locations gives you a completely different result..... I went to the East 7th location near where I live with a faulty Ultima battery that was 8 months old. I took it in for slow charge 3 times and every time it would not hold the charge long enough to start my hotrod. I talked to the manager at the 7th street location and got the total runaround.... machine says it's good, I can't authorize, blah blah.... I had the battery in my truck so I stopped by the 601 Slaughter location. Matt the manager tested the battery and literally 10 minutes after the other store gave me the runaround from the East 7th store I was on my way with a brand new replacement from the Slaughter store. Matt was way professional and great to work with. I buy tons of parts for all 6 of my hotrods and from now on I'm going to drive past the store a block from my loft and drive 30 minutes to the 601 Slaughter store... ironically it will save me a TON of time and frustration.
