I'm going to cut right to the chase on this review. The staff is abysmal at this location and I'm wondering if they're even human beings or if they are malfunctioning robots. The main dude who's there all the time is this very heavy set middle-aged gentleman who you can tell he's in so much pain and he's mixed up all the time and cannot handle the stress of the job and he does not belong there. He is completely and utterly useless. The younger staff all think their hip Hop guys or just completely brain dead NPC types. They can't even look up an item without you repeating what model vehicle you have at least three or four times. After my last interaction with them last week, I am no longer going here and I started to go to advance Auto parts instead on Nostrand avenue. They're organized, and get you exactly what you need and you're out of the store in 5 minutes. If corporate bothers to read these reviews, you need to do a full audit of every single staff member at this location and get rid of them and start fresh. read more

Went to autozone to get a LED bulb for my third break light. The first employee was helpful but not as much as I'd like as they were understaffed. The guy who rang me up (different guy) did not offer my phone number to insert and did not give me a receipt. Went to do a return after checking the light with the same guy he began giving me an issue about this and did not want to offer me credit or refund AFTER he ensured me this was the correct light. Very nasty afterwards acting as if he had somewhere better to be. I get it it may be overwhelming but that's no reason for you to act like that and be disrespectful to the CUSTOMERS. Overall always ask for your receipt and be ready for the nasty attitude they give. read more

I just recently gotten a car. Well, to be more accurate my dad gave me his car. So it's a bit old and needs a bit of repair. Came to Autozone to get a new battery since mine isn't working anymore even when it was charging. I didn't know which one to get since i'm a new driver so I went to the front desk to ask for help. The guy right away asked what type of car I had and what year. Once he got that infor he just plugged it into the computer and BOOM!!! So we found the one that's for my car and I paid for it. This place is good. Just fine. I hate the occasional wait but it's very rare. Staff is helpful, friendly, pretty much all you want from a retail person. This location is one of the better autozone locastions. Its never crowded and the staff is always helpful. The parking lot also always has plenty of space. I come here when I have dumb car questions and they are always helpful. If you dont see what you want on the floor be sure to ask bcause they usually can find it. read more

They have everything you might need for basic automobile care and repairs. Do not go into the store clueless. Yes they are there to help but it helps a lot if you've done just a 5 min google search on what you need. This is not a mechanic shop so don't expect them to diagnose your car exactly. They do provide free services like scanning your check engine light or testing your battery/alternator. Overall great place to make a quick stop for your garage builds. I'm here at least once a week to pick up the basics as they're always necessary. Kinda pisses me off when people walk into this place and get upset or say the staff is not knowledgeable because you refused to go to a proper mechanic shop in hopes of saving a couple of dollars on your diagnoses. I was trying to get the car key battery the lady cashier said she doesn't know how to open the key and had no interest to find out what kind of battery I needed. I had a really bad experience here, I been going to that store for about 2 years and always had an ok service. Between my work trucks and my family's personal cars I spend over $3000 every year at auto zone. I went with my mechanic today trying to modify something the will work for my trailer so I was in the middle row figuring everything out with my mechanic, then all the sudden one of the worker that tenured out to be the store manger came to me and said you guys look suspicious and I need you to get f out of my store just like that, so I ask him do you see me putting things in my bucket so you can call me a thief, he said no but people steal from us all the time. I don't think this is right for accusing people of steeling specially if we work so hard day and night to make a living. read more

The Manager Metta " Hope that I spelled that right" really went out of his way to correct an issue and truth be told *according to the paperwork" on this exchange he would have been in the right to say ( I can't help you ) though he didn't. I appreciate how he went out of his way to fix the issue that was not his doing at all. And the workers were really helpful when I went in to exchange the portable Duralast Jumper Box. Judge for yourself: I bought a present for my father at this store -- a power booster for when the car battery is dead. ($50) Turns out I bought a wrong model, so I tried to return it a week later. I was told by the manager that: 1. power-related products like these are not returnable (I wish someone had told me when I was buying it), so they can't take it back; 2. it seems that the item had been used (it had scratches on it), 3. the item is defective, and 4. the only thing I can do is to get in touch with the manufacturer. May 14, 2015 I purchased a set of shocks for my pickup with my debit card. My mechanic advised me that the shocks I purchased from auto zone would not be a good choice for my vehicle so I returned them to autozone with the receipt. I was told that the refund would not be for cash and that my bank will be refunded the amount for the shocks, since it is a debited purchase. I have since been to the store 5 TIMES CALLED THE MAIN AUTOZONE OFFICE TWICE, resulting in further delays. It is now June 6, I called my bank still no credit to my account. I went back to autozone today fustrated. I had decided to to use the credit they owed me by doing an exchange. To my surprise I was told my refund is under investigation and I wouldn't be able to get the credit, cash, nor an exchange untill after autozone does an investigation. The store manager said there was nothing he could do about it. The manager had nothing else to say. I immediately called autozones main office only to find they are closed on saturdays and they open monday. Further delay. Now I am chasing my $71.75 . This is the case of what happened to the money? Last summer I bought an expensive a/c fittings package to charge my a/c. It was like $20 for 2 little pieces of metal, it probably costs 25cents to make in china. And when my mechanic proceded to put these pices on the car, it turned out that someone had already used these parts and ruined the threads in them. I had to go back to the store and get another package. The lady there said: "oops, I thought these were ok, so I repackaged them". Wtf, I paid for new items, not used ruined parts. This place is the WORST! Last year I went to change my headlight that blew out. I asked for assistance since I didn't know how to do it. The "manager" I don't know if you can call him that said no one can help me because they don't do that there. Fast forward to this year. I needed my car battery changed because my battery was in the process of dying. So I went to the store that was EMPTY with only ONE customer besides me in there and there was a manager and TWO workers on the floor. I ask for help changing my battery and the "manager" who doesn't look like he manages much of anything since all he does is stand around and chit chat with his coworker buddies, said that he couldn't help me because there was no one there. Oh really. They must be a bunch of nobodies then I had to travel 20 minutes away to a different auto zone who ended up helping me out.
