Receipt from original battery purchase in Columbia ... receipt for 3 year warranty swap! Battery and core charge covered !!

I was here a little earlier than opening . The staff hadn't even arrived yet . Didnt matter to me tho - I can sit and eat my MCD breakfast. Staff arrived at 7:30 - I still waited to allow them time to set up. I was coming fully prepared to pay for a battery. My car would need a jump to start but would still run so I knew it was the battery and not the alternator . He asked about my phone number for a warranty . I couldn't remember it but something told me I had left the receipt in the cars manual - just for a time like this . I DID . And ?! I was on the very last day of my warranty . Bought the battery on 3-31-18 and needed it changed 3-31-21 . Duralast GOLD . Thank you to the team at AutoZone for keeping $180 in my pocket !!

Bottom line up front: These guys changed my car battery for me. For free. Apparently all AutoZones do. For free. My six year-old car's batteries weren't aging well at all. Starting my Volkswagen required turning off every accessory: A/C, air conditioner. I called ahead to first DC's H Street AutoZone, whose staff seems beyond inundated with customers. Scratching that store off my list, I called this, the Rhode Island Avenue AutoZone, who only asked that I give them half an hour to prepare for the additional workload. So I drove, on a Friday afternoon after work, to purchase my a battery that I only assumed was in stock (it was) and have it installed by a staffer who I could only assume was confident in the task (he was). Yes, I could've found the battery $10 or so cheaper elsewhere, but I honestly didn't have the tools, knowhow or even interest in changing it myself. Nor did I have any desire to trek down to my not-so-local Volkswagen dealership or deal with the scheduling issues of any other area autoshop. No. I wanted a car battery, in my car, today. Like now. And AutoZone complied and then some. They defly installed my battery while also attending to the instore customers. They disposed of my old battery and left me outrageously satisfied.

They should shovel their sidewalks as required by city code and not make it dangerous for pedestrians...

Darryl at the Rhode Island store was highly helpful in finding the right part ... and he even helped installed the new wipers. Thank you!

I needed an alternator for my car and I called ahead of time to get information about how to do so…read more The number listed online I assume is directed to a call center because the people I spoke with on the phone were rather helpful. They suggested I go into the store to get a quicker delivery. So I took their advice and went into the chillum location. Upon entering the place was dusty and had old oil bottles sitting on the shelf that looked liked they hadn't been touched in months, but I thought ok they deal with auto parts it's a rough business..thats fine I guess. I walked into the location and was not greeted or even acknowledged. I assume that was because they couldn't see me behind the dusty plexi glass littered with old signs tapped all over them. so I waited about three minutes but since I was in a rush I started to asked the associates if they were free. Two of them said no. so as I was approaching the third associate a voice yelled from the distance "sir stand in line someone will call you up". So I found the beginning of the line of witch I was the only person in. After I got called up a few seconds later I said " hi I need a part" the associate just stared at me and we akwardly looked at each other for the next 4 seconds before she said "okkkk your in a parts store" I continued by saying "what other information do you need from me"? ---Fast forward after the next 5 minutes of terrible service she went to the bathroom. I waited a little but then based off her level of service I thought should wouldn't be in rush to get back, maybe even take her time purposefully. So I went to another associate to see if he could finish the transaction and he said " ok but look I'm not about to dance around with you" to which I responded " it's not about dancing around it's about having good customer service and actually being helpful". To sum it up the whole experience was below average. I assume those associates were used to treating people like that since it happened so easily to me and I am really not a Karen I'm very polite. I assume the problem is above them probably in management..

These thieves tried to steal my money today. My boyfriend had went inside sometime in Feb to order…read more2 parts: Chevy 2015 Spark LS Axle and Right control arm. Two separate receipts because he paid for one part and I paid for the other. We picked up the axle but they did not have the Control arm yet as they had to wait for it to ship from NY so okay. During our wait he lost the receipt for the control arm so they kept giving him the run around telling him if he don't have the receipt he can't get the part because they don't have the part number to look it up. Today I was done with that run around because we couldn't find it and that makes no sense for a car business to not have record of them ordering a part. Our phone number is attached to the payment. So I came inside with him and talked to the guy who actually ordered our part and explained that even if we do not have the receipt y'all should have it on record we paid for and y'all ordered the part so at this point you don't hand me my part you are stealing my money. They tried to give me the run around but snitched on his self in the process when he admitted they called our phone to come pick up the part. I said so if you called us and we are finally here what's the issue with handing us our part. He immediately turned his fat @$$ around, picked up our part, and dropped it on the desk. It took me cursing him out and applying logic to the situation for them to give me my part. So they are thieves. They tried to take my money and not give me what I paid for. For no good reason. What would I get from stealing a Chevy Spark part especially if I have proof I paid for the first part and had that part in the car. Mind you one of them tried to threaten to put me out without giving me my part because I was cursing. I ignored him and was able to get dude to snitch on his self cus he couldn't come up with any logical reason not to give me part. So if they did put me out I was going to call the police, it's theft to take my money and not hand over what I paid for. These ppl will never see our debit cards again.

If you do make it through the block, be extra careful as you exit. My insurance company gave me a repair estimate. This garage was 60% cheaper. We have a friend who brings cars here all the time and he suggested coming. There were a few hiccups: workers left grease marks on the seats, our phone number was accidentally left off the estimate (how can you be contacted otherwise?) and one cosmetic detail was forgotten. We are taking the car back to get that last item finished. Even with some glitches, I am happy to have my beloved car that was totaled in an accident back in our driveway. One of the parts was available new or used. We asked for the used part. When the owner researched the part, a newer one was available quicker. He installed the new part at the used price. If you want to save money on a repair or service, this garage can help. I would suggest clearly communicating and asking the smallest question to make sure you are on the same page with the owner. Request having your seats covered to avoid any marks on them. I would return for other repairs.
