Dead battery. Ugh! Went to get a new one and was greeted by Michael B. He immediately located the battery I needed and even price matched it, which saved me a ton of money. Around $80. In this economy, every penny counts. I couldn't believe how helpful and friendly he was. Lately it seems that customer service has gone downhill. Not with this guy. I'll make sure cooperate is aware of how the man and women working today worked outside in 115 degrees using tools to put on my windshield wipers. I tried the Autozone in Queen Creek, told them I never put these on and they said I'm brain dead if I can't do it. One hour later after trying at home, I decided I might be brain dead but I still need wipers. Go see Memo! I'm not sure why this AZ has a low rating because in my experience they are solid. Each time I've been I have had A+ service and advice--eat your heart out Big Two Toyota with your high prices, long wait times, and elevated pricing to pay for your unnecessarily lavish showroom...yeah, I said it! I needed a new battery and Memo helped me out from start to finish--tested the old, showed me some tips how to clean the terminals, got me set with the rewards program, and I was off after I installed the new battery. I've been shopping here for over a decade. I've spent thousands of dollars in this store. Everyone has always been nice and polite. Until today. Eddie the store manager decided to make inappropriate sexual jokes about my last name to his friend standing next to him right to my face. I'm in this establishment spending money and this guy thinks it's ok to make jokes about my name like we are in the Jr. High school yard. He should be fired immediately. Awful. I had to get a battery for my car, and my friend went with me. She saw a little gadget by the register that opens doors for you, helps you press buttons, is a hook for your bag, all so you don't have to touch things, right? So she gets up to the register and she said she wants to purchase this and the guy behind the counter gives her this look like she's simple and says "you know that's a gimmick, right?" Not to mention, when he looked up my car he very rudely asked me if I bought it in Mexico. When I told him no I bought it at a dealership, he grumbled that the cars were made in Mexico. The guy had his mask under his nose and made fun of customers for buying something that helps them feel safe. This dude needs a serious education in customer service. Thanks to that dude and his awful customer service skills, this place should be avoided like the plague. Go to another AutoZone, trust me you'll thank me. read more

My check engine light was on in my truck. Went here for a diagnostic and was told "we can't enter your vehicle due to covid, here's a test and plug it in under your dash and bring back inside, it's easy".....sent me on my way...Ok, sure it's easy I thought, I went to my truck and saw where it should plug into but could not open it and I was not about to pry it open and break it. I went back in and stated "I couldn't get it to work", lady said "oh well sorry have a good day" Here's my rant, there was another employee helping another customer install a battery in their vehicle, obviously outside with no mask on, so why couldn't the other employees who were pre occupied on their phone/chatting amongst theirselves come outside and assist me on how to get their equipment hooked up in my truck? I guess there's a difference on being face to face with a customer and installing their battery vs standing back and directing a customer on how to hook up their equipment to get a diagnosis. read more

I bought a new part and they never asked for my rewards. When I asked about assigning my membership, they said that they could not do it anymore. They guy didn't care to help at all. If you know what you need, it is an ok service Pre, but if you need any kind of help or have questions, this is not the store. My car broke down and had to get it jump started. It turned out to be a dead battery. The guys there was so kind and helpful. I dont know a lot about cars and they didnt make me feel judged or uncomfortable. They had it done less than 10minutes and even put on my windshield wipers for me. 100% recommend. read more

I left a Yelp a year or so ago with a 5, the gentleman was so kind and came out to my truck and helped me solve my problem and what to do. Went back to same location and the woman absolutely was adamant that she couldn't give me any help on my issue and that no one in the store could come look or help. I went in today for a battery change and was immediately greeted and helped by the young lady upfront named Maia (I think, sorry if im mistaken lol) they checked my battery (in the rain) and told me i needed it replaced, now i have never had to replace a battery on a car before so Calvin helped me out (again, in the rain) and showed me step for step on how to for the next time i was in this situation. i'll admit i was skeptical to come into this location because of some of the reviews but i'm glad i did as they took good care of me. Today we went to purchase some motor oil from auto zone . The individual who helped us, an African American man, was rude with a very bad attitude. We simply asked if the oil we purchased was the right one for the car and he didn't the courtesy to answer that but was eager to stare us down when my brother asked the question. Tao N is the man!!!! He not only took care of me swiftly, but was able to solve my trucks problem with not starting. He knew which battery it needed and was able to change it out swiftly. He is definitely an employee that needs a bonus for sure! Really made my day to go the extra mile! Later that day I was having lunch with my good friends and was chatting about their battery and how it was having some issues too, so I took the extra initiative and brought it over that same day back to Tao. I it was like I was in a NASCAR race and he was a pit crew. Haha! I purchased the battery of his recommendation, he changed it out, and I was back on the road again! #1 in customer service for sure! Usually AutoZone employees are helpful but this time they weren't. In fact, they were the opposite of helpful. The employee I spoke with was kind, but negligible and I could tell he really didn't want to help me at all. I needed to rent 2 tools. The I 1st one he brought was wrong but he said it would do the job and to just come back in the morning when I have it apart. I knew that tool wouldn't work. Finally he brought another which would work. For the 2nd tool, he flat out told me they didn't have one even though I asked for it multiple times. And he was like, oh you don't need anything like that. I went to the AutoZone off Higley right after this one and they said Power and Germann have 2. By then, this was right before closing time, so I was unable to get the tool. Big waste of time. And the other employee was on his phone most the time I was there. He didn't even bother to help the employee and me. I was there for 30 minutes because the guy I was talking to didn't know anything. I'll never go to this location again. The one on Higley was way better judging from the small interaction I had with them. read more

Car won't start. Crap. Praying it's just the battery and not something more serious. Wait for DH to get back home so he can jump start me. I make it to the nearest auto shop, Auto Zone. Anita is the one in the store helping everyone and their mother, cousin and great-uncle. Seriously, the woman had a store full of people but managed to acknowledge everyone and guide them in the right direction or start to look up whatever they needed. In my case, she grabs a battery tester as well as another customer's windshield wipers (which she will be installing for the guy!) and asks us both to follow her out the door. She tests my battery and confirms that it does in fact need to be replaced (phew!). As we head back into the store, she comments that she noticed the battery is a Checker Auto battery and do I know if there's still a warranty on it. Huh? No clue. She proceeds by calling the Checker across the street and asking them to look me up in their system. After much searching they finally find me in the CA database as I apparently bought the battery in San Diego (huh? still no recollection, but ok). She hangs up and tells me that if I go across the street to get my battery they will give me a prorated rebate on the old battery. That prorated rebate - ALMOST 50 BUCKS! So THANK YOU ANITA! Thank you for going way above and beyond the level of service I would expect at an auto shop, and thank you for saving me so much money. Anytime I ever come in here to employees are inpatient and rude. I don't usually leave bad reviews but jesus christ these people need some customer service training. I myself am a manager at a retail store and if any of my associates acted the way and had the same attitude of the people here they'd be gone. Tonight my daughter told me some of my front lights in my old Explorer were not working. So, we went to Auto Zone, like usual and Brandon Briggs was so kind to help me out. He helped me get the right replacement bulbs for my headlights and some corner light. He also installed the headlight bulb for me, but could not the other because the instructions were not in the owner's manual and he hadn't changed those before. That's okay because changing the headlight bulb requiring him disconnecting and taking out the battery and putting it back afterwards. He went way beyond what I expected, which really was to take my money for the bulbs and maybe give me some instructions on how to do it myself. I really love this Auto Zone. 100% of the time I come, they always are so helpful. Thanks so much, Brandon!!! read more

For starters... I am not a fan of having to go into auto stores it's just uncomfortable and awkward I am like a lost child in a grocery story. But I needed windshield wipers. I came in here and I am not positive on his name but I believe it was Pete (this was a couple weeks ago) that's how awesome the service was... So Pete was so very helpful. He walked out to my car to make sure we got the right ones, asked me what my price range was and made a recommendation, and helped me install. So thanks for amazing customer service and putting me at ease and making me an autozone customer for life. read more

I've never encountered a problem where they didn't have a part in stock, the problem though, is that AZ parts are not always up to snuff compared to factory/OEM; then again, you're not paying factory/OEM prices...the choice is yours, Padawan. For belts, hoses, fuses, brake pads/shoes, the AZ stuff is fine; when it comes to what I would call major items like alternators, starters, I think you're better spending a bit extra and going with factory/OEM. The help at this store varies from great to mediocre; I've had some great help diagnosing an electrical problem or scanning for a code, to being ignored at the cash register while the 'help' is laughing and joking around at the parts counter. Overall, when it's late at night and you NEED a part to get your car on the road, it's tough to beat AZ since they're everywhere and their warranties are basically honored without question (if you're really in a bind and your AZ doesn't have a part, ask them to check for the nearest AZ 'Hub' in your area, the Hub stores tend to carry more parts in stock and are usually open later as well). read more

I love AutoZone; but not this specific store. I walked into the store and was not greeted by the two men at the register. I spent a few minutes looking for some items, and could not find them. So I asked one of the guys and he pointed me in the direction I needed to look (he seemed bothered that I was asking) I picked up my items and headed to the register to pay, and left the store. When I was home, I noticed I bought one too many supplies, so I needed to head back. When I entered the store again, I was not greeted. I walked up to the register and told the cashier that I needed to return a couple of items. I handed him my receipt and he turned the computer away from me. The cashier kept giving me weird looks like he was trying to hide something. (He would not let me see the computer screen) When he handed me my refund, he looked at me weird again and he folded my receipt and placed it on the counter. (I found this odd, but I just wanted to get out of there, so I did not care) A week or so passed by and I came upon my receipt before throwing it away and what do I find. The cashier added two items (that I did not purchase) to my receipt! So I did not receive my full refund back. Yeah, silly me for not checking my money and receipt while I was at the counter. (I usually do, but the guy was a creep) These were not expensive items; one was a $2.99 key chain and the other was a small bottle of WD-40. I called AutoZone Customer Service and explained what happened, and the representative told me the General Manager would give me a call. I called every other day, and kept getting blown off. I eventually stopped calling and said screw it. Make sure you check your receipts! These employees are stealing money from their customers and supplies from their employer. read more

I've never had a bad experience at this AutoZone until today. The older gentleman working the counter did not help me. I told him I had purchased some windshield wipers there a while back and they never fit in my car, so I wanted to make sure I got the correct ones. The guy never said hello or even acknowledge that he was listing to me. He looked up on his computer, and told me "there are 10 different types over on the shelves, you can pick some there" My question is, why the heck look on your computer to see what type of windshield wipers my car uses if you're not going to help me. I lost it, walked out and went across the street to o'reilly and was helped. This guy at Auto Zone was not courteous and has no people skills. I am so impressed with the customer service at Autozone. I brought my car there today after getting it jump started by a neighbor due to a dead battery. Rather than selling me a new battery which they could have easily done, they informed me that it should still be under warranty and that I should contact my auto dealer. I've been shopping in this location since it opened. I'm on first name basis with the manager Angel. I am also disabled veteran. Today I was asked to wear a mask entering the store. I have two medical conditions that Prevent me wearing mask. PTSD prevents me from wearing a mask and not having a panic attack. Went there for windshield wipers and was immediately helped to determine what size I needed and was shown all the options they had. I chose the ones I wanted, they fetched them from the display racks and, as soon as I paid for them, asked if I need help to install them. Of course I said yes because I remember trying to do it myself once and having a lot of difficulty. Five minutes later they had them installed on the car and off I went. Doesn't get any better than that. Got the item I wanted at a reasonable price and had installed quick for free. The entire experience took lass than 15 minutes. This review is for the store in the Gilbert Road store in the Target Plaza Yesterday went to this store to buy a part. The young man went in the back for a few minutes came out and asked his co-worker if the part he went to find moved as the computer said there was one in stock. His co-worked said " it must have walked away". Then I asked him if one was in another auto zone store, " do you know the address?" was his response. The co-workers phone started ringing, the store phone rang and three customers walked in while he was struggling with a customer " Jesus Christ" was his comment into the air. The young man told me to try the store at Gilbert & Main just down the road ( where there is major construction and detours ). I never expected adult men to make me feel like such a loser for being female and not knowing how to fix my AC, I tried asking for help with the product I was buying for my AC and would not get help not only that the cashier was staying things trying to point out what I must have "obviously done wrong". Had absolutely the worst experience in the store this morning. Young guy Rick was so rude. Asked him to help me buy wheel covers and he was totally rude from the start. When I said I didn't know what size my wheels were he said they don't know either. When I said isn't there a way to find out the size he said they don't that. I then said let's talk to someone else he said "fine, go ahead". A woman who I assume is the manager than helped out and was very argumentative when I tried to explain the young man was rude. She didn't want to hear it. Never apologized and tried to defend the guy without even letting me explain how rude he was. Very poor customer service. Store management needs to be re-trained or replaced. Unfortunately one of the worst Autozones I have ever purchased from is the one closest to my house. I will not be returning to any autozone and will stick with the professionals at Napa.
