They replaced an outer tie rod on my car which failed in 1700 miles and when i called them to work out a plan his answer was "i doubt that" A 3rd party Mechanic looked at my car and told me to take it back to get my money back. When confronted with bad work their response is not to make it right but try to find a way to make it your fault. I spent $3000 here and there are issues with every part of the repair. The transmission work they did is also failing. If you have an issue with their shoddy work their solution is to hang up on you b/c business is good. When the vehicle arrived, staff asked "did you make an appointment for this?" Yes, yes we did. It is obvious the staff was not well experienced with the vehicle we brought in and instead of saying it was out of their wheelhouse, they attempted a repair. The issue was NOT repaired. The mechanic replaced a brake line that was not leaking, was not the source of the leak, and had already been replaced recently. When driving home, the brakes failed. When we contacted the shop to let them know the leak was not fixed and that we checked and it is the same exact location of the issue we dropped it off for we were told yes they did repair it. It obviously broke somewhere else and the would look at it again but would not comp us any of the previous WRONG repair or any work toward the new repair. I understand they took time to work on the vehicle, however they didn't repair the problem and then tried to tell us they did! From now on, I will take pictures of the problem before hand so I can prove it was not fixed. We have used this shop in the past with no issue, but this experience was SO bad we will never use them again.

Another shop had mis-installed my rebuilt transmission and also damaged other components. This Spring (2026) I wanted to have my drivetrain rebuilt so I could enjoy my car again. In regards to Salem, Ohio PittStop…read more They installed the wrong oil filter on my car. The car stalled in a bad spot, but I managed to coast into the Lisbon BMV / Family Dollar lot. I wasn't thinking like a mechanic--I was just trying to get to work and get the show back on the road. I called AAA for a tow, but when I phoned the shop to explain, the manager told me to cancel it. He'd send someone out to slap on a new filter, top off the oil, and have me drive off. I agreed, not realizing that was a risky move that could've caused more damage. Afterward, they pressured me to bring the car back to them for an internal inspection, a classic CYA move. Just so you know: you are not legally required to do that. You have every right to get an independent inspection. I had Stadium GM in Salem check it out, and LUCKILY little to no damage was done. The general manager refunded the oil change and said he'd reimburse the inspection (no consideration for inconvenience and danger). That was two weeks ago. District manager says he dropped the check in the mailbox with no tracking number. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. If it doesn't arrive soon, I'll be filing a BBB complaint and taking it to small claims. EDIT: I wouldn't take their CarFax reviews at face value, I have been trying to leave one and it seems you only can if they send you a link to do so.

Dropped the car off told them the problems and mentioned, when braking, the car pulled a little to the left. Later they called with a diagnostic fee which seemed a little high but wanted it fixed. Someone called back the next day told me they had changed the oil and recharged the air conditioning and found leaks at both Schrader valves which they replaced (part of the diagnostic fee I imagine) and I needed $2000 worth of brake work, (front pads and rotors, rear shoes and drums, front calipers, BG brake system service). My response was, "that is a third of what the car was worth, put it back together and the car will be picked up. A total of $2875.81 of work and parts were declined by me. " Just to be on the safe side, two weeks later the same vehicle was taken to another auto repair shop to have the brakes checked, their receipt says "Inspect brakes, approximately 50% -OK". The brakes are working fine. There is probably a large gap as to what is needed for vehicle repairs and what the manufacturers suggests and how much money you have.
