I have taken my cars to Fred for over 20 years. I drove my 2006 Elantra to 304,000 miles, mainly because Fred maintained it for most of its life. I had an extremely frustrating experience with this installer. From the start, he was suspiciously…read morepersistent in trying to get me to come to him for the radio installation, offering various "solutions" to get me there, which should have been a red flag. When I finally did, he claimed my radio was faulty and spent 30 to 55 minutes just playing with wires without actually doing anything. I was skeptical, so I tested the radio myself using a multimeter and a DC power supply outside of the car, and it powered on perfectly. To double-check, I also tested it inside the car, and the radio worked just fine. When I confronted him, he tried to cover his tracks by reinstalling my old radio, which powered up immediately, contradicting his earlier claims about faulty wiring. He tried to brush it off with a weak excuse, but it was clear he was lying. This guy is a scammer--avoid him at all costs.
