They are definitely "no frills," but that keeps the cost down. In today's current economic climate ( Thank you politicians) its harder to find than a shopping cartwheel that doesn't wobble. Very glad I found Autosys. I had the unfortunate event of having my car lose power right in front of this business and having to leave out of town the next day. I arranged for my bf to drop off the keys to them the next day to have it fixed. I left on a Saturday and they were able to fix it (alternator) by that Tuesday. It cost over $1500 for my 2012 Toyota Camry SE to have the alternator replaced based off of them having to remove the radiator, draining it & putting it back in. During this time they ran a diagnostic and noticed my oxygen sensor needed to be replaced (based on the notification received for work done). I also received a notification from Carfax that Autosys replaced my alternator and changed the oxygen sensor. So when I returned I noticed the check engine light was still on. I called and inquired if they actually replaced the oxygen sensor because of the alert from Carfax. They said they did not replace it because they did not have authorization and it'd be $200+ to run a diagnostic on it to make sure it was an oxygen sensor. This is where I lost trust. So you entered into Carfax you replaced something you didn't, knew what needed to be fixed & want to charge me again for a diagnostic on replacing an oxygen sensor you diagnosed as faulty & falsely stated you completed work on my vehicle? Got it. I went to honk my horn at someone and guess what! AUTOSYS forgot to reconnect all of the wires they unplugged on my electrical when they were under the hood. So - not only did they inflate the cost of repairs, enter in false information - they also disconnected my electrical wiring and didnt reconnect it. I decided to find a different shop to have the oxygen sensor replaced. I hope this review helps someone else make an informed decision regarding working with this repair shop. I have been using Autosys for over 10 years now, and they have never let me down. But after my last experience they are my hero! Our local Ford Dealership told us we had a coolant corrosion problem and that it was not fixable. They told us we needed a new engine! I took our vehicle to Autosys and they had it working in less than two days. On top of that they charged me less to fix it than the dealership charged me to tell me I needed a new engine! Autosys performed a pre-purchase inspection for us. They paused the inspection when there was enough data to get a picture of things, call us to confirm before continuing. The vehicle was a hard pass. So they saved us money on their inspection *and* saved us *much* grief by helping us avoid a vehicle in poor condition. My headlights were dim. I phoned and one shop said replace the kit - labor 2 1/2 hrs at $179/hr. Another said to bring it in. There would be a charge for diagnostics at which point they'd work on the problem. When I called Autosys, Marcus said to bring it in and they would take a look. I was glad I did. The prob was I didn't put the bulbs in tight causing dim lights. Marcus kept the line of communication open and explained, no educated, every step of the way. I would give it negative ratings if i could. They charged me $700 for a sparkplug replacement. Go figure! Run just don't walk. So the owner asks me to approve all the repairs but then he finds a coolant leak and fixes it himself without me authorizing. What a baloney. Why didn't you call me and get authorization to fix the coolant leak? BTW My van is giving P0441 code now. Your shop should be closed. Update 9/16/2019: I took the van to another shop on Friday and they charged me $147.xx to fix a vacuum hose that wasn't connected properly by your shop. Also they confirmed that this job is about 1.8 hours long and not 4 hours as your shop quoted. If you have any modicum of honesty you should refund me the charge. Blake the front desk person did not tell me about the "front break hardware" nor the "2 new front break rotors". I was waiting for the owner's call back but that never happened. My car failed the emission test because the check engine light was on. Emission test stations will sign the waiver but need itemized receipts that show at least $150 was spent on emission diagnosis/repairs of the test failure. So we brought our car to AutoSys because they have Ecology Authorized Emission Specialist (AES) listing on the paper emissions test station gave us. They charged us $174 for only diagnosis (hourly labor rate is $116) and quoted over $700 for transmission flush and replace the filter. I am so glad I declined all other services other than diagnosis because everywhere else charges less than they do. If you want to spend extra money and poor customer service. Took in my Mazda 3 for suspected electrical misfiring / idling a little rough - before a trip. Took two hours when they were not otherwise busy. Heard lots of excuses. Charged $200 and NOTHING was actually done except to hook up the computer and high voltage spark check. I complained and got lots of dancing around and more excuses trying to justify the rip off. Instead, they said it was the engine mounts causing vibration at idle, not a misfire. Quoted over $700 to replace engine mounts. Within the next week the coil failed while I was out of town. Obviously they could not do a simple diagnostic and any mechnaic would have uncovered the problem. I took the car to a reputable dealer and asked for them to check the engine mounts for wear / signs of needing replacement. They confirmed that Autosys lied to me and there was no reason to need engine mounts. On a previous visit, I suspected being over charged for poor service -- but this visit truly confirmed it. They are very practiced at blowing smoke and making you think you are getting good service. Stay away - spread the word! read more

Can I give zero stars??? My front brakes were making noise so I took my car to Autosys. They said that I needed a front brake replacement and that I needed new rotors. Marcus went even so far as to explain how much the rotors were worn down and how they couldn't resurface them because once they get to a certain level they are not allowed to resurface them and have to replace them per the manufacturer. He also said my back brakes only had six months on them and would need to be replaced soon, so I should just do it now. I also needed new tires (which I knew), but when I explained to him that I literally only drive my car 5 miles to the Park and Ride and back everyday and don't use the car on the weekend, he insisted that the cheapest tire he could offer me was over $100 a tire. The price he quoted me was ridiculous. I quickly called the Les Schwab across the street to see if they could offer a better estimate on the front brakes- the price they had with replacing the rotors was over $200 less. I decided that I should probably get a second opinion and when I picked up my car, Marcus then announced that my back brakes really only had 3-6 months left on them, so I should probably do that right away. He obviously is not aware that Les Schwab is literally across the street from his shop. I handed them the work order that Marcus gave me. Not only did they say my front brake rotors were perfectly fine and could be resurfaced- no problem, they said that they had no idea why Autosys thought I needed to replace my back brakes because they were in great shape. They also could offer me $80/tire and I don't even think those are their "cheap" tires. I have been to Autosys two or three times in the past and now I feel like an IDIOT, because I have probably overspent or paid for things I really didn't need in the past. Les Schwab has overall great prices on parts and labor- maybe Autosys should order from their distributor. While I am very thankful for the Autosys employee who offered to drive me to the Park and Ride yesterday, overall Les Schwab has had much better customer service than I have ever experienced at Autosys. I'm surprised Autosys even offered to replace the dead headlight of the other yelp customer. I once came in on a Saturday asking if they could do mine and Marcus was extremely rude telling me that I would need to drop the car off for the whole day the following Monday for them to do it and when I said that wasn't an option given we only had one car at the time and my husband needed it for work, Marcus just laughed in my face and made comments about me to a customer as I was leaving the shop. read more

I don't know much about cars. But I liked this place. I was in town buying a car from Craigslist and needed to get it inspected. They fit me in for the car inspection on somewhat short notice (after several AAA certified car repair locations could not). I also took the car back there to have some service done to it after I bought it. They were very helpful in making suggestions about maintaining the car, and explaining everything to do with the car, what all the issues were, etc. They even stayed open 10 minutes late for me when I got stuck in the Seattle traffic coming back to pick the car up! What a nice thing to do! If I lived in the Seattle area, I would only take my car to Autosys. read more

Autosys does a great job keeping my 1995 and 2002 vehicles on the road and, frankly, running like new. I take care of my vehicles (new cars are just too darn expensive - though they smell nice); They perform my vehicle's preventive maintenance flawlessly and, on occasion, when the vehicle needs more than that I always feel they are treating it like it's their own car. Mike and his Master Certified techs, Ian and Calvin, take great care in doing the job right. They use OE parts when they can so the fix lasts longer via best fit, quality is their job 1. That doesn't mean inexpensive (good parts should not be cheap) but it also doesn't mean most expensive either. Great techs should not be cheap as well. If you want to go cheap then good luck keeping your vehicle safely on the road. Autosys gives great advice on fixes that can wait (so one can budget). For fixes that need immediate attention they handle those quickly but very accurately. Marcus (Technical Advisor) knows his stuff and does a fantastic job advising me of all my options. He knows I appreciate his and all the tech's expertise and has no problem showing me (safely, while the vehicle is on the lift) the issues, if any, of my vehicle. He's great at communicating with and educating the client. It's not only fun for me to learn a bit more about the inner workings of my vehicle from him but it makes me appreciate their master craftsmanship. They are all a lot of fun too. Their pickup/drop-off service to my home (5+ miles away) is very appreciated and needed when the vehicle is being repaired. Though I never rush them (I subscribe to "good food takes time to prepare") Autosys is extremely efficient and very committed to not seeing me back for the same issue any time soon. In a nutshell, they just down right 'get it'. All at Autosys take pride in their craft. You can't fake that. Great 'service in America' lives here....a very talented, honest, and fairly priced shop. Though I rave about them, deservingly, I am in no way related to any at Autosys. I am a picky ex-NY'er who just seeks the best for what I work hard to keep. I have been a customer of theirs since 2005 and highly recommend the professionals at Autosys. With multiple good choices out there in the auto repair biz (& a lot more not), Autosys is MY choice. Great and friendly service! I had planned to take my car next door to Firestone (with an hour and half wait) when I was approached by someone who asked me what was wrong with my car. He highly recommended that I try Autosys for various positive reasons i.e. warranty, price, service. I was sold. Mike had come out and I let him know about his new salesman and the noise coming from my car. He initially said he could check it out in an hour since it was lunch time but the next thing I knew he was pulling my car around. Just a few minutes later he let me know that it was probably just a rock that had worked its way out but did check other tire wheelwells and all was good! Do not take your car/truck here for emissions work !!! What a scam. I failed emissions in my old work truck. It's been passing for years and barely missed this test. I took it in and they charged me over $200 just to diagnose the thing... which would have qualified me for a waiver.. but noooo. Autosys insisted in printing across my invoice in ** BOLD ^^ with asterisks "DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR WAIVER" and repeated that over and over on the invoice. All because a connector going to one of my C02 sensors was broken... So to replace the connector they wanted to charge me $700 ???? WTF.? 700.00 for a $2.00 connector? That didn't even include replacing the C02 sensor if needed. What a SCAM !!!!!! So I spent $1.85 ...... YES One Dollar and 85 cents and replaced the connector myself in 10 minutes and then brought it to a DIFFERENT mechanic to get the required $150 diagnosis and ran it through again and it passed. Moral of the story DO NOT take your car here if you've failed emissions. Go ANYwhere else. The other shops were more than HAPPY to write me a receipt for a waiver even with the broken connector, and I showed them the BOLD receipt from Autosys and they had a good laugh at that, unfortunately at my expense... Do not make the same mistake I made.. I wasted over $200 for NOTHING by going here. There are other reviews that state the similar tactic. It seems that when you go in for failed emissions, they will tack on some unnecessary massive charge, because they know you have no choice but to get your tabs and will gladly hold you hostage to pay some ridiculous price ( like $700.00 to replace a connector ) knowing you can't drive until you do. Other companies will tell us we need to change our tyres right away, but autosys will tell us we are fine. Or our break pads. They know what they are doing, and when they need help they will take care of sending our car wherever it is needed. We don't have to schedule multiple appointments and take our car around. From talking with front desk staff, owners and mechanics - there is attention to listening to the customer, responding, explaining and taking time to ensure that I'm taken care of and satisfied. I'm a referral and have been with them for over a decade, regularly driving 30 minutes + to entrust my car with them. I've referred others to AutoSys as well. They have gone beyond expectations and I've never felt like they pushed services, in fact the opposite when they defer services as not needed or refer to monitoring issues on future visits. They're up-front about pricing and the work that they believe is required vs optional, explaining the consequences plainly without scare tactics. One time, I told them I was annoyed with something on my son's pickup while having them work on something completely unrelated. Caveat emptor!! Autosys has all kinds of BBB signs and plaques, signs stating that they are beneficial for women. BAH HUMBUG!!! I took my car there 4-17-10. Told them the turn signals weren't working, I wanted an oil change and a tune up. I was told before a tune up they would check out the car and give me an estimate. Red flag one. After waiting over an hour I was told I was leaking oil, needed something for my front tire, that there was a major shortage in the car, that's why the turn signals didn't work and that the spark plugs and wires needed to be replaced. Red flag two. I looked the young man and said that's odd, I had the spark plugs replaced a few months ago. He then back pedaled and said "Well, we didn't look at the spark plugs, but the wires to the plugs need to be replaced." He didn't present me with an estimate at that time and said he would email me. He never did. The next Saturday I took the car to Goodyear in Bellevue and explained the turn signal problem. In 10 minutes they told me it was fixed and that it was a fuse and it was replaced. It cost me less than $14. Yes, the turn signals work. So, two blatant lies from Autosys. 1. The spark plugs. 2. the turn signals. Caught in a lie while there and proof after taken to another business. I did hear what they charged other customers for their services.......one was $1700 and another was $2300. I would be remiss not to mention that. For my credibility, I am a former Federal Law Enforcement Officer. I have had several security and secret clearances. I recommend you drive a little farther to Bellevue and utilize another company. read more

Pulled car from them after they let me know that after one day of troubleshooting they were "pretty sure" of solution, plus they wanted $400 more than a dealer and three more days to work on it. Had my car taken to Autosys on recommendation of AAA tech after my car wouldn't start. Knew fuel pump was bad already. They wanted to do a diagnostic check that turned up: fuel pump was bad. Charged me $200 to diagnose the already existing issue that I had told them of. The connection to the fuel pump was bad at the access panel which could have taken 5 minutes to "diagnose" with their eyes. Then quoted me over $1k to replace everything and $700 to simply drop the fuel tank and assess the current pump. I knew this was to much. I feel like they got over on me by getting $200 out of me to diagnose a problem I had already specified and then vastly over quoted me for the actual work. In the end I had it towed to my mechanic who performed an inspection and repair of all connections for $150 and everything is good. Autosys also disassembled the entire wiring harness and simply left it in that condition when it was picked up. A bad experience all the way around and a validation of the stories we all hear about auto shops trying to take advantage of customers. I do not recommend.fds read more
