This review is for the collision side, I'm pretty surprised that they don't have separate Yelps because it is a different office on Delano St. These guys were recommended to me by a client of mine. I ended up driving to the repair side first and was met by Jack, who is the sweetest guy. He drove with me to the collision side and introduced me to my new buddy Ciera. She took amazing care of me, got me a quote faster than expected and reviewed the work done to my car prior to me coming in so they could make a few last minute touch ups so I was totally happy by the time I went in to pick it up- seriously you can't even tell it was damaged. Auto Aid's initial quote was only $9 higher than the lowest I had received, and then Michael, the gentleman who runs this side of the shop, gave a nice discount since I was paying out of pocket due to the circumstances of my accident. Even without the discount, I would have went with these guys because of Ciera's awesome attitude and Jack's initial warm welcome. My only criticism is that there is some paint on one of my tires, which I believe will come off with a brush and some elbow grease, this was offset however by the fact that these guys did a quick wipe down and vacuum of the interior, which was a pleasant surprise. Absolutely highly recommend and will use in the future if needed. read more

Per is a great guy! This place does things very well and are just all-around great people. Do the Yelp deal if you can before it ends. They also provide a incentive program where you get reward points which is awesome. The service was outstanding. I was searching online for a DIESEL MECHANIC, when I found Auto Aid & Rescue, I took my truck to them, and the moment I interacted with them they were really professional and inspected my vehicle in a really fast time. They were able to find out really quick what was wrong with the engine, and gave me a good price on repair compared to my past mechanic. I took my vehicle to Keyes Toyota for an oil change and they told me a had a leaking transmission gasket and wanted to charge me several hundred dollars to replace it. I decided to take my car to AutoAid to do the work (they were a lot cheaper). Auto Aid wiped the area clean (emailed me photos of the area) and test drove my car and told me they didn't see it leaking. They recommended to keep an eye on it instead. They could have easily charged me and replaced it, but they're extremely honest. They have a customer for life. I will be bringing them my wife's car next. read more

Broke down in Costco parking lot at lunchtime and had to have the car towed to Auto Aid. My 98 Lexus GS300 needed a new starter. The car was repaired and given back to me within four hours, and the price seemed very reasonable. Seems like I almost paid as much for a starter for a Chrysler 20 years ago. The best part was that I had forgotten my cell phone at home, so, after arriving at Auto Aid unannounced and getting a ride home from them, they still managed to get me back my repaired car in four hours for a very moderate price. I knocked off my driver side Mirror backing out of my driveway. Went to a couple shops to get quotes. One Shop in particular I visited with the intent to get the mirror replaced there. A year before I had the same issue with my passenger mirror when I hit a trash can. However the shop I went to quoted me $75 more than what it cost me last yr. I told the guy I know you guys can do better than that. He told me if you find a better deal somewhere else I'll match it and deduct $20. So I did a little wandering and was able to get the part that I needed at advance parts one street over for more than half of what the guy told me the part cost. I also visited another shop on the block and they quoted me a price that was $20 less than the whole total the 1st shop gave me. I went back to shop #1 requested the price for just the installation and the painting of the mirror cover(aftermarket mirror/cover comes black and my car is white)-I was able to find the part on my own cheaper. The guy was very surprised and wanted to know where did I go. I told him, and he's like OK very smart of you. I also told him that I found a shop that quoted me $20 less. Then he proceeded to ask me why didn't I go with them then... Reminding him that he told me that he would price match and deduct additional $20 was the reason I was back. I also expressed being a woman I have to do my research because people tend to over charge women in Car business. Ofcourse he was a little taken and pleaded that it wasn't like that and that he also had to make money. I let him know I completely understood. And if I hadn't had the same thing happened to me last yr I probably would've went with it. The same predicament I paid $75 less ... It didn't make sense that the price jumped so much I drive a Toyota not a BMW. He then proceeded to tell me that last yr. I worked with his dad and that his dad is getting older and probably forgot to charge me for the paint and maybe the reason why it was done cheaper. Making a longer story shorter he agreed to do the price match and a deduct the $20. Although I felt a little taken advantage of I was content. It was the end of the day so we agreed that I would return the next day. *Fast forward .. I returned the next day and the guy that I was working with was not there and the main office was locked. There were service men there working on vehicles and when I inquired about when the manager would be in they could not tell me, and also notated they were not authorized to make any decisions without them. I was extremely annoyed. I figured I would just have to come back. With a very busy day ahead of me, I really needed this done ASAP to not only get it out the way but because I was driving with a cracked side mirror that was barely hanging on which is a safety concern. THE PART THAT REALLY MATTERS *AUTO AID*... I knew there were multiple shops in the area that did bodywork. I decided I would visit 1 or 2 to get another quote and see if I could get it done right away. Which is how I ended up at Auto Aid. My primary encounter was with David in the body shop dpt. He was nice and attentive. He walked me through what he was doing as he analyzed the car. Asking questions, and why he needed the information he was requesting. A lot more than the other shops asked. I thought he was putting in a lot of effort so I let him know I was just looking for a quote. I didn't want him to do too much work and I end up not going through with it. He was very nice and informed me it was all part of the process and it was OK. He took his time and gave me personalized service. After everything was gathered he gave me a quote that was $10 more than the other shop. $10 is $10, You can make of it what you want. I could've said you know what thanks there's a place around the corner that's going to do it cheaper. I could've attempted to haggle with him. However I was just so pleased with his customer service and also the ability to get it started "now" what is $10 to that! He communicated very well. During the visit he informed me about the other services that they offer which would usually would annoy people because it becomes.."thats not why I'm here" but because I'm not a stranger to car trouble and routine maintenance being very important on a car that's getting older with over 11000 miles. I found it very informative especially hearing they offer financing for repairs if needed. Very good information for me to know! He even recommended I visit the website and stated sometimes they offer discounts. In which I did, where I discovered a coupon for new customers $25 off. He wasn't sure if it would be eligible for me to apply to the bodywork however it was! So I got $25 off my repair. So ultimately Auto Aid ended up being the best decision in the long run. Not only did they provide fantastic service, but it was the most cost effective. I was extremely pleased with David and his team. Will definitely return for future repairs and maintenance. read more

I've taken my car to AutoAid a handful of times. First starting in 2010, then most recently a few months ago when I moved back to the Van Nuys area. They have a nice waiting room and friendly staff. Very professional atmosphere & staff for a family shop. I've never had any issues with my car after visiting. I also like how they invest in their customers when they are new to the shop. They receive 3 stars because I believe they are prone to over-quote you. I appreciate honest mechanics, and believe their quotes are fair, but there are cheaper options out there. For instance, I had a hubcap fall off my car and they wanted to charge me an insane amount for the OEM replacement. I laughed when I saw the quote, because I know online a hubcap is about $45 (I've had to replace 5 hubcaps already). Also, Toyota told me my water pump was bad. They agreed. Then I took it to my regular guy who is far away for his opinion, and he told me absolutely nothing was wrong with it (it was "sweating" not leaking), and if the work had to be done...he would have charged $150 LESS than AutoAid. Again, great shop and nice people. I just caution doing your homework and shop around for quotes. For reference, I go to Ed Little Auto in Culver City. read more

I went in about a week and a half ago, as the car is almost at 100,000 miles. I thought I should at least get an oil change, but they said that the sticker showed that I'd only put 1,000 miles since the last time, so there was no need. But, that didn't stop them doing an entire inspection, and they did suggest a few things, but assured me that it wasn't an emergency. Usually mechanics will try to sell you maintenance work that isn't absolutely necessary at that at exact moment. So, what I learned was that the guys at Auto Aid, are honest and trustworthy, and they WILL be the guys I choose to work on my car. I love the way they go over the vehicle with a fine tooth comb and point out not just current problems but potential future issues, but their is never a sales job to add on additional repairs, it's just presented as for your information. Jack and his crew really take care of you. I had a check engine light on for almost a year with a fault in a knock sensor. I also had an issue with the evap system. They took care of both quickly and even fixed some other issues for parts only or labor only. They also took care of getting my car cleared on a smog check. I have a jeep that's 29 years old so I have had to have many repairs over the years and this is the one place that I've found where I'm comfortable with the owners and I'm not concerned that I'm going to be charged for a lot of unnecessary repairs. Got an oil change today at AutoAid due to a referral by my roommate. They were very nice, were faster than their estimated time, and were thorough about their courtesy maintenance check- instead of just pointing to stuff on a list, they showed me an oil valve leak I wasn't aware of, showed me which light was out, and gave me estimates for recommended repairs without trying to force me to agree to them at that moment. I definitely recommend giving these guys a shot if you're unhappy with your current place or just don't know where to go- but I think it's possible to get a cheaper price elsewhere for an oil change (mine was $50, including the light replacement). I'll have to do my research on that, though. read more

I took my car in for servicing to Auto Aid for the first time. It was my 60k mile check up and asked David, the owner, to look at my car and let me know what needs to get done. Given my past experiences with other auto shops, I expected a long list of what "needs" to be completed. To my surprise, David called me and let me know that after looking at the car, all that needs to be completed is an oil change and replace my air filter. Happily it came with a 30day motor and tranny warranty, and so I took it to Auto Aid the first week. Their inspection was very thorough and it gave me the chance to take the car back to the dealer and have clearly identifiable issues resolved. Not only did the report include major structural and mechanical factors it also took body work into account. Sadly, without weekend hours it's been practically impossible for me to arrange to bring it back in for an estimate of costs on brakes and tires. If you're thinking of buying a car, take it to Auto Aid Rescue BEFORE you sign on the dotted line.
