I walked in with a 10 year old car battery and said it seemed like the battery was dead and probably needed a new one. They hooked it up to their testing device and told me the battery was good and fully charged. After taking it in to a mechanic I can tell you for certain the battery was not holding a charge and I just needed to buy a new battery. But since auto one tested it and said it was good, I ended up paying 2x the amount of a battery because I had the mechanic testing everything else. I would have bought a new battery from auto zone. But now after this experience I'll never go back to them for anything. read more

I had went to the autozone in PH they sent me to sweetwater because they didn't have my battery in stock when I arrive to sweetwater autozone I was greeted by this nice lady then a guy with a grey shirt attended me I believe (Robert was his name) didn't say hello didn't have no good customer service at all he then looks at my battery sees that they have plenty in stock but since it was a different model but same everything else he then proceeded to say that he never seen that battery in his life he then calls another autozone and was told by that autozone that there's three different models the one I had another with a different handle and no handle at all mind you I have warranty and everything is matching he was just being unprofessional the lady next to him should be the one in charge because even she said what's the problem then I hope she doesn't lose her job for speaking up will never return to this autozone . read more

2:00 pm Update: I spoke to the manager Walter and he is well aware of the community he is serving and would like us to know that he wants to provide service that is respectful and makes us feel comfortable. I let him know that underlying bias is something we as African Americans feel a lot from the Latinx community and I will be calling it out from now on. Walter said he was in a program at City College where they are combining Black and Latinx studies for the purpose of unity. I will be meeting with Walter on an ongoing basis and seeing to it that his staff is providing the utmost costumer experience to the community that he is serving. *************************************** 1:00 pm Customer service was horrible. It was so bad, I would say the staff in there were being micro-aggressive toward my son and myself. We ended up walking out after the Hispanic girl told us to see the guy in the front. Then the guy kept questioning what my vehicle model was, even though I kept telling him the information. Finally after he refused to believe us, we went to get my registration information. We came back in, he left. The girl was at the front. She was asking us what we needed, when I said we already started the conversation with the guy, she got a nasty attitude and refused to go get him, and proceeded to say he was busy and couldn't help us anymore. Then she rudely said can I help you or not? Slamming her hand on the counter, rolling her eyes and her head making aggressive body gestures. This was uncalled for. The guy originally helping us made it seem like he wasn't trying to help us. When I originally asked her, she pointed us to him. Then he disappeared and she gave the impression that she didn't want to help us. When I asked her why she didn't help us in the first place, she said in a rude tone that she was busy. Long story short they did not want to help us. I felt like I was Black down South dealing with white people. Instead I was Black in California dealing with micro-aggression from Hispanics. We walked out. I went to O'Reilly's up the street. They had great customer service. I will never go to that Auto Zone again and I will recommend the rest of Black San Diego to Boycott them! If you Auto Zone on Paradise Valley Road, don't want to be accused of being micro-aggressive toward African Americans, then you better tell your staff to have better customer service. My mom and I did find the battery here for her van but somewhat there was a miscommunication with a cashier she told me that she won't charge me if I bring the old battery and I told her I did and it's in my car, she did not offer me if I needed help to get it because it's heavy I can't carry it, so she still charged me, I told her I need help to carry the new battery and to get the old battery, the guy who helped us was somewhat "rude" saying "next time call us! I have saved hundreds of dollars changing air filters, headlights, windshield wiper blades and engine batteries. Trust me. I am no mechanic. Nor do I pretend to be. I got a mechanic and when things are serious. I take my car to him. But for the minor stuff. I can handle it with Auto Zone's help. Always willing to help when I am there. 2 stars because the customer service here is great. But damn it, I can never get the correct part from you guys. From purge valves, to canister valves, to brakes, to oil filters, I've always had to make a trip to another store to get the correct part. I live super close but have to make a trip to To a different city to get help! Last time you guys couldn't find a warranty for me and when I went to a store in Chula Vista they found it with no problem. Again, the customer service here is great, but if you want to drain your motor oil and found out you don't have the right oil filter and have to get a ride to get the correct one, come here! I was about ready to go to O'Reilly but the contact by phone wasn't very pleasant when I spoke to him so I called my nearby Autozone. These guys were friendly and helpful. I asked if they would help me install my battery and they said yes without hesitation!! I purchased my battery and Miguel D (I think that was his last initial) helped me out. He was very patient and friendly. I asked him several questions and he answered them all. He even helped me with added items I didn't plan on purchasing right away. He also offered to help with the installation of the battery, which was AWESOME! He replaced it fairly quickly and I was on my way! Great, fast, reliable service!! Will def return! My battery was giving me issues so I went in to charge my battery at AutoZone. They didn't explain too much about my battery and after charging it and putting it back in my car it still wouldn't start my car. So after going back to the store, I bought a new battery. Candido was the guy who helped me and he was very helpful and even tried to find my warranty on my dead battery to save me money. Although I couldn't get the warranty info because the previous owner bought the battery, I appreciated him bringing it to my attention and attempting to look for it anyway. He helped me put my new battery in my car and made sure it worked before he went back in the store. Most places when you ask for their help make you feel like you're bothering them and they usually have an attitude and do the bare minimum as far as customer service goes. read more

I came in this location the other day for a headlight-bulb; Walter was so receptive and helpful in helping me find the right bulb for my Honda CR-V. As soon as I got there he went out of his way to make sure I was able to put in the new bulb in the headlight. It was kind of tricky, he had to disassemble the headlight in order to put in the new bulb. He was so calm and collective and not rude like other auto parts store I've gone in the past. I came in looking for an air filter for my car. Not knowing how it looked like or where it is. A friendly man came to help me out and checked with the computer of which air filter fits best with my car. I didn't know what kind of model my car was, so he stepped outside with me and helped me figure out what brand it was as well as taking out my old air filter! He then proceeded to help me buy the new air filter in the shop and afterwards showed me how to replace the air filter and put it in for me. That made my day, if I ever need help again. Walter is a godsend! I had my oil changed and a month down the line my oil light started coming on, come to find my engine is dry as a bone. Walter helped me discover the bad work of another mechanic who could have potentially costed me an engine or possibly my whole car. It's so helpful to come across workers like this who are very knowledgeable and still compassionate and dedicated to helping customers like me (who doesn't have a reliable mechanic and occasionally runs into problems like this). This AutoZone always has knowledgeable workers who are willing and ready to help diagnose your problem, which not all AutoZones have. Definite five stars! read more

Strange characters that come in here. Got busy some guy stole whatever he was standing in line for cuz every employee was with people. One of the guests was like a stripper with her dad or something arguing. And everyone had battery issues at least 4 people and then myself. Had to go back for the core charge reversal. They didn't ask if I had a warranty but I caught it. Got a nice refund so don't forget to check people cuz the employees won't! Holy crap! Worst Autozone I've ever been in. First, i stood in line for about 15mins, then some older guy was trying to look up a battery for my car. He kept selecting the wrong vehicle. Finally, we go outside, he has me pop the hood open, he kept twisting the bolts on the battery, wasting time. He then goes to get tools, after 20 mins of his playing with tools, he tells me, "oh we don't have the tools i need, someone stole them!" I was like seriously?!
