Small store but very busy, so be patient with employees as they are NOT Mechanics but do take time to give each customer their needed time to locate, order, estimates on products (sometimes 1 customer wants pricing on Multiple parts) and assist in some small installations. Literally carried a super heavy Audi battery in today, put it at the cashier station and the guy looked me in the eye and as cold as asked ' how he could help' this was with a little malice. Anyway I'd looked it up on line before I went to the store, they had a compatible battery for $187.00, was in stock too, morbid uninterested cashier said the only one he had was almost twice that money. So I said nope and picked up the super heavy battery, knowing there was a used one in Atlas 1 salvage in Otay for $45.00, but I thought I'd pay extra for the 3 yr warranty. Anyway, as I'm leaving 'He shouts 'Have a great day boss' or something like that, which was a slap, or an intended slap. So much attitude. On 02/11/22 I made 2 purchases. I decided not to use one of them (unopened), I tried to return it approx. 2 weeks after. I did not have a receipt and the cashier said I needed the receipt, I left. Googling the matter, I found out that you can make a return w/o a receipt but, you need to call support. The moment support knew about this, they treated me with courtesy and respect. Support passed this to management, management called me and told me to go to the store and ask for JC. JC communicated and empathized with me. I was able to return the product and get what I had spent back. As long as you are honest, they can verify your purchase on the system, and the product is (under their criterion) returnable; you will get the customer service we all like to receive. My 19 year old daughter went to the imperial beach autozone because we suspected her battery was bad. She had them test it and they did say it was bad. She purchased a new one and asked if they could put it in for her. The first young guy attempted but didn't know what he was doing. He went to go get the manager who came out to do it. She leaves goes to work, gets off work and as she's driving down Palm Ave to go home, multiple lights came on in the dashboard. She pulled in to autozone and turned the car off and the car would not restart. She went inside to tell them she just bought a battery from them, they installed it and now this happened. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The MANAGER told her that they close in 5 minutes and he did not have time to do car maintenance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My daughter called home crying because he refused to help her and her car wouldn't start. We come to help her and discover that the battery terminals were not secured. A simple fix had he even tried to look at it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Meanwhile the manager turns off all the lights on the parking lot and leaves. Was he really going to leave my daughter there in the dark without helping?[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He clearly doesn't have a daughter because I can't imagine anyone doing this. I met her there to make sure they installed the new battery. The young guy who tried to install it clearly didn't know what he was doing and went inside to get help. The manager came out to help and finished installing the battery. She started the car and went to work. She got off work and was heading home. She got almost to where the auto zone was and all these lights were coming on in her dashboard. so I told her to pull in to autozone and go tell someone that she purchased a battery from there earlier that day and now a bunch of lights came on. When she turned the car off, she tries to restart it and it wouldn't start. By now it was 9:55pm and when she went inside to ask for help the manager told her that they were closing in 5 minutes and he didn't have time for car maintenanc. She comes outside and calls me crying at how rude the guy was. My husband goes to auto zone to help her and he discovered that when they installed the battery they did not secure the terminals properly so it wasn't getting connection. we left to go get tools and came back and the parking lot waa pitch dark when we got back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This manager was actually going to leave my daughter broke down in the dark rather than to even try to help her.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] this was so sad to me. But this is the last time this auto zone will get our business. Great technicians! But the manager (guy in the grey shirt) is terrible. I had a battery problem at 9:40 and he stopped the technicians to do the battery change because he said it was gonna take longer than 20 mins. A few customers before had a battery change that didn't even take more then 10 mins and I was waiting for them to change mine but then he told them not too. Big L for the company because I was gonna buy a battery there but guess not. Larry was a huge help today. I went in with my 6 month old baby, during a down pour of rain. My battery was acting up and I was worried I would breakdown while running my errands on my only day off. Larry and the crew there helped me feel comfortable in the store with the baby, while they went out to check on my battery. I took up a lot of Larry's time, but he helped me get a new battery, and went above and beyond by swapping them out for me. During a down pour of rain.
