When my 2014 Kia did not start, I had a feeling it was more than a battery issue, though my knowledge of cars is limited to just driving them. I searched online for a mobile auto service and found JC in my Google search. After reading the reviews, I called him and scheduled him for the following morning. He asked if he could come around 7: 30-8am and I said yes. I work night shifts so I knew I'd be home a little after. And he came. By the time I got home, he had already found the problem, explained it to me as best as he could to someone like me, contacted a supplier, gave me a quote, did not charge me for diagnostics, and tried to save me money by offering alternative solutions. Most unprofessional individual I've ever ran into. My 2014 Silverado 3500 would start up and then cut off after a couple seconds, and sometimes not even turn on. My wife and I had to attend our sons soccer tournament so we called this guy and left the keys so he had access to the truck. His ONLY job was to to run a diagnostic test to see what the issue was. He told us his standard price is $145 for a diagnostic. I had no problem with that price at all. After no more than 30min with the truck he called me and said he can't run a diagnostic test because there's no power. He said the batteries are dead. He then said he has a "supplier" that has the batteries in stock, they're "about to close soon," but will hold the door open for him to go grab the two batteries. I asked for the price of the two batteries and this guy had the audacity to tell me $1400! A joke! So I told him I'd call him back in 5min. I then called AAA and asked if they had two batteries in stock for my truck, they said yes, cost for each battery is $200 after tax. So I called this guy JC back and told him no thank you on the batteries, I'll just get them from AAA. He then talked about how terrible those batteries are and how he can get high performance batteries from his "supplier." I then again told him no thank you. He then said gave me a total price of $230! I asked why, he said $145 for the diagnostic which of course he didn't do because the batteries were dead. But he was also trying to charge me $85 for removing both batteries. No one told him to do any labor on my vehicle at all. He assumed I was going to say yes on his suppliers battery, so he disconnected my batteries, put them on the floor and then tried to charge $85 for that. I told him $85!?? He instantly got mad, raising his voice and talked about how it's a Saturday (like I care), and he came to my house and took off the batteries for me, and before I could get a word in told me to just pay whatever I wanted. Of course we only paid the $145 because it was fair, he came out to do a diagnostic was unable to and still got paid for that. I believe any normal human being would be satisfied with $145 for 30min of zero labor. My wife sent the $145 via Venmo and he acted like he never received it, then he hung up. He called back 5min later and told us he was coming back to our house to drop off the truck key!! The SOB stole our truck key because he couldn't figure out Venmo. And once he saw the notification of payment he came back to drop off the key. This guy gets zero stars and I'll make sure everyone knows how terrible of a person he is. Also he left the batteries on the floor and the hood of the truck up. This guy needs to be out of business, what a clown. read more

I had JC give me a diagnostic for my 2007 Ford ranger. He informed me that the problem was the fuel line and Ford no longer makes the part. I took the truck to a mechanic and they said the problem was the fuel pump and the fuel was running down the fuel line. Had JC do the rotors on my vehicle, everything seemed to go well. Was given a warranty for the parts. When the problem returned and it was still in the warranty timeframe I called JC and to say the least he was very rude and in my opinion unprofessional. Basically made it so I did not even want to use him for the warranty work. Decided to get the problem taken care of by a well recommended auto shop and pay an additional 800 dollars. Now the original price I paid for JC to do the job was 400 bucks. Great deal!! Until it comes time to have him stand behind the work that he does, then it is you get what you pay for. I learned a valuable lesson, of if it seems to good to be true it is. I want to finish by saying that JC was going to do the warranty work in the end. But he made it so uncomfortable for me and my wife who was listening to the conversation as we were driving at the time, that I was willing to pay the additional money not to have to deal with this person ever again. So if you want great pricing, by all means use this guy. I had a few estimates from other mechanics and knew about what it would cost. They put in a new engine and heater core plus various other issues and charged me fair and honest. I had a bad experience dealing with Julio aka JC he ended up being very unprofessional in my opinion. I found him through Craigslist and hired him to do a head job on my 2016 Ford focus. At first he was very polite and seemed knowledgeable about what he was doing but I was wrong. He was very eager to start the tear down process. I was quoted $350 to tear down, $450 to reinstall, $100 to pressure test the head and $100 to resurface the head. Total quoted was $1,000 plus parts and that it would take about 2 days to get the head back so I figured I would get my car running at the latest within 1 week. 7/13/18 he did the "tear down". 7/18 called me and said that he recommends that I do a valve grinding service for an additional $395 or else my car might make a noise. He never mentioned this to me in the beginning but I felt like I didn't have an option because I didn't want my car to possibly make a weird sound. I tried getting the gaskets and head bolts from the dealer but they were sold separately and I was quoted approximately $220 but he suggested I buy them as a package. I couldn't find them anywhere as a package so he said that he can get them from his supplier but it would cost me $379.98 for the gaskets and $139 for the head bolt set. I told him that was a lot of money but once again I felt like my hands were tied because he didn't want to be inconvenienced in telling me what individual gaskets I needed even though I would be saving money from the dealer so I agreed to get it from him. 7/24 said that the head is ready and had the gaskets and bolts but that he cannot come until next week on 8/1 because he took on additional jobs. I wish I would have known that I was going to be pushed to the side ahead of time because by this time my car would not be in use for approximately 18 days (so much for 1 week?). on 8/1 he calls and tells me that he will need to reschedule install because he just found out that he needed to purchase a camshaft tool and can only order online. on 8/6 he returns and I am hoping that my vehicle will be completed by end of day but now he blames his supplier for giving him the wrong size bolts. By now he had the bolts in his van for at least 2 weeks and never double checked himself but he blames his supplier? I asked him if he had everything else so that he can finally finish the following day and he said yes. 8/7 he returns and now blames Ford for him needing an additional tool to lock the crankshaft before he can complete this job. My wife and I were getting frustrated with all his excuses, I guess I figured most mechanics should know ahead of time the proper tools they will need before they take on a job but I was wrong? He returns on 8/10 about 7am and stated that he will be finishing up today (4 weeks later) and that he wanted to make sure I left full payment with my wife. I asked him for the balance due and he was paid. Later that evening, I left my cell phone charging at home while I went out for my son's practice. Our home surveillance cameras show Julio coming to our home and he left a business card at our front door. The next morning on Saturday 8/11 I head out to work and noticed that Julio had sent me a text and left me a voicemail. Around 7am Julio returns to our house and rings our doorbell. My wife works late nights and tries to sleep in on Saturday mornings but Julio woke up my wife and kids. He stated that he made a mistake on the invoice and came to collect payment. My wife told him that she did not have any money on her and that he would need to return when I got home. He said he was not leaving until he got payment because I didn't return his text or call. My wife explained to him that we are not that kind of people to try and screw someone over but to give us a chance to fix his mistake. He asked her why she was agitated??? While I was at work I started texting with Julio and he was very unprofessional. He blamed me for not telling him how much I owed him? He accused me of holding his "money" hostage. He said my wife and I were being "sneaky". I told him that I never said that I was not going to pay him and that he was making it very difficult to deal with him after he made the mistake. I asked him for the original receipts for the head gaskets and head bolts and he refused to give me the original receipts because he had "marked up" the price but he said he would print out an itemized receipt. We agreed for him to return the following day for payment but once again, he forgot to bring the itemized printed receipt. I paid him anyway & only got 30 day warranty for a job that cost me over $2,300. My "previous" mechanic that I had would give his customers his business discount on parts as an incentive to keep coming back but he moved out of state. I assumed that most mechanics tried to save their customers money but not Julio. He claims to be the owner but the BAR has the owner under a different name? read more
