I did go to Sergio's. They diagnosed a mysterious electrical problem that had been causing me a great deal of trouble. They were able to fix it & so far my car has been working just fine. The diagnosis & fix took a total of 3 days. It was expensive. But effective. I'm grateful for the referral I got read more

They fixed a few items for me quickly. Felt the cost were reasonable and they were super friendly. I recommend this place, parking is a little hard and there are a lot of women walking around scantily clad at 10am but hey those democrats think it's okay. Lol sb357 signed off by gruesome. read more

Sergio's fixed some wires that were chewed by on by a rodent repaired fast and efficient. Only charged me an hour of labor. I would recommend this shop to anyone read more

I brought my car in February of 2022 because of a misfire issue. They replace the spark plug and did a valve adjustment on it saying it was the cause of it. When I went to pick it up a week later, misfire was still an issue before I even turned the corner.. so I brought it back. After about 10 months later of giving me the run around and making excuses for their lack of knowledge, I decide to get my car towed to a shop that knows what they are doing. When I went to pick it up, I notice my son's car seat was missing so I asked them about it. They said they never touched it but they found a car seat on the side walk near their dumpster. The owner said " oh! That's your car seat?! We were trying to figure out who it was". By this time, it's been sun damaged and completely unusable since it was sitting outside for months. I was furious and frustrated at the lack of ownership they had. I trusted them with my vehicle and they ripped me off with a job that wasn't needed and didn't even fix the issue I came in for. I would definitely stay away from this shop for any service. read more

My daughter's 2008 Buick had several issues going on, some electrical, a lack of power and more. My son told us to call Sergio as he has used him before, and they didn't disappoint him. Sergio found the problems, fixed them all in a timely fashion and charged a fair price for the labor and parts. Sergio does it all! Thank you! read more

A mouse got into my 93 Cadillac Allante's wiring. A number of shops didn't want to work on it. Sergio took it in, did a great repair job and the little Red Cadillac runs like new. Great work, very fair price. I could not be happier. read more

Best customer service and the work is amazing. Went there to get my brakes and oil changed it was quick and affordable

I took my car in to get electrical work done and I was greeted by an older man recording me as soon as I stepped out of my car. I ignored it and continued to fill out paperwork to leave my car until he proceeded to walk by and record me, I told another mechanic that man was making me uncomfortable and wasn't going to get my car serviced by them. They disregarded that he recorded me and said he was recording me because I looked like his granddaughter. This was super unprofessional I asked them to tell him to delete the footage which probably won't get deleted. If you're a girl don't come to this mechanic read more

I first heard about Sergio's Auto Electric from a tow truck driver almost 10 years ago. He said Sergio's is absolutely THE place to go if you need anything done correctly and for a good price. Randomly I have heard about 4 or 5 other people mention Sergio's. With my new project 72 chevy (pictured) with 40 year old wiring (that previous owners had seriously hacked up), I decided to finally stop by. Sergio gave me a FAIR/good deal price. The Painless brand wiring kits compare in price, but I can only imagine the labor that would be involved in rewiring an entire truck. Sure, I could buy the wiring harness from painless and spend 20 hours rewiring the truck myself, but I didn't have the time or experience. Sergio and his guys saved the day. Now my truck is completely rewired bumper to bumper (under the hood, front lights, turn signals, starter, the complete dash/guages/dome light, fuel sending unit, back turn signals, tails, brakes, and license plate light). I was amazed at how professional everything looked (no more loose wires, everything is tight inside wire loom, clipped around my engine bay. It's like a brand new truck. What a relief driving it home knowing that I have working turn signals, head lights, etc. He even stayed late so I could swing by after work to pick it up. Although I didn't have my stereo ready to install, he said, when you get it, bring it in, no problem, I'll wire it in, included in what you paid. He also gave me the opportunity to provide my own parts to save on costs, something that is very rare these days in this industry. My friends and that tow truck driver from ten years ago were absolutely right, Sergio's is the spot. If you want it done right, the first time, from a really nice guy with expert level automotive knowledge, take it to Sergio. Thank you for bringing my truck back to life Sergio! (TIP: I wanted to give the guys who worked on my truck some cold beers, Sergio told me the two guys who did all the work like Coors Light. I also tipped them cash. Well worth it considering the work they put in to my truck!) read more

Sergios Auto Electric - Auto Repair Near Me - San Diego, California

I went to Sergio's for a battery issue for my 2005 BMW X5. They dealt with the issue of my battery, but in the interim they broke my trunk . They slammed the trunk down so that it broke the latch. The mechanic promised to get me another part, but never did. He has lied to me about having the part. I have talked to the owner Sergio, but he does not intend to purchase a new part for my car. I will be taking him to court. I had to call for the part from Texas. I don't have $700.00 to purchase the part from BMW. I should not be held responsible for getting a part that they broke! read more

Sergio the 3rd was responsive and prompt to my calls and in person visit. I was referred to him by a nearby business that I trust. New serpentine belt, Oil gasket and oil, sparkplugs, and thermostat plus new thermostat and coolant all in for under a grand. They also fixed some interior trim. read more

A+++ and highly recommend! Sergio is a straight forward and honest man with very reasonable prices and also gave me a military discount. He diagnosed my situation and ended up replacing my F-150 passenger front door actuator. Great work! read more

My husband and I are new to the area and literally know no one. . . Sergios was recommended to us when both of our cars began to need work. . .to say they are amazing doesn't even begin to do this business justice. Brianna is wonderful in keeping us informed as to what needs to be done with our vehicles. . . .and Sergio is a delight. It is like watching a family work together. We are still not too sure we made a good decision moving out here. . . .but Sergios takes some of the 'disappointment' out of the equation. They have been a blessing!!!!! We wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

I have had Sergio do electrical work on my vehicles. I would recommend him and all of his employee's in a New York Minute!

I took my daughters car to Sergio's because I couldn't figure out why the back hatch would not unlock. After trying to replace the actuator and other troubleshooting, I realized I needed a professional to evaluate the advise. After dropping the car off I received a call that they identified the problem. Due to a faulty ground electrical component in the front passenger door actuator, it was preventing the rear hatch to malfunction. Go figure... How does that make any sense!!! I believed Sergio's assessment, but he offered to wait and show me the issue. I guess I am happy he waited because I could see what part needed replacement. I asked them to leave the door panel off so I could buy the replacement part from eBay ($56 compared to factory replacement of $229). After the part arrived my daughter and I replaced the passenger door actuator with the help of YouTube. And it works like new!! Thanks to Sergio's for the $70 proper assessment. They offered to fix it, but in an effort to save some money and teach my daughter a bit, I decided to do the repair on our own.. read more

Sergio is such an honest man! The alternator in my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee went out and the second Sergio took a look at it he instructed me to call the Jeep dealership with the VIN # to check for a factory recall. I did, and sure enough all the repairs are being covered by the recall. He could have easily just taken the job for a quick buck but instead informed me of the FREE recall repairs and saved me many hundreds of dollars. That is what you call integrity! read more

Fair prices. But while they were fixing the wiring for my fog lights they crushed up the mesh part of my 1 day old K&N filter and did not even mention it to me. Should have looked under the hood right away I guess. I managed to make it look semi decent, but you can still see the damage done. Also there is a cracked hole in my new fog light, that may have been a rock in the road and it also could have been the same person who smashed the filter, not sure. Doubt I'll take my VW there like I talked about to the guy at the register now. I wanted to like this place too, since it was highly recommended by my uncle. read more

These guys are GREAT. They are honest and stand behind their work. The number and variety of cars in their parking lot is proof positive. I strongly recommend if you have an electrical problem with your vehicle, go here. Their prices are fair. I have never felt over charged or paid for "we think it MIGHT be this" kind of work. FABULOUS. read more

I can't trust the dealership anymore to fix my car. This the only place I take my mustang.

Let me start this review out by saying this place does not take appointments. It is a first come, first serve basis. With that known, we were ok with it since they were referred to us by an extremely honest and reputable acquaintance. We were having electrical issues with our car's audio and main electrical system. On a Monday, we called down to Sergio's about 10am and asked if it was too late to bring our car in. One of the sisters answered the phone and said no, bring it down. We loaded up and had our car there at 10:20am. The lady who helped us assured us someone would call within an hour with an estimate. We went on our day and never heard anything. We called at 3:15p asking if the car had been looked at. The same lady said "no, but I'll get someone one it and they will call you in about 30 minutes." Of course, we heard nothing. We ended up going down to pick up our car at 4:45p. We found that it had been moved about 5' to the street. When my husband asked for our keys, the same lady who helped him earlier said "I can't find them." She went to look in the office and the keys were not there. Where were our keys?? Sitting in the ignition of our car with the windows down. Now, this shop is not in the best of areas. I'm honestly grateful that our car was not stolen - that is the highlight of this experience. I understand that all shops operate differently. However, I'm a big believer in do what you say. If you tell me you will have someone look at our car, do it. Don't keep putting us off. If you are too busy, tell us; we will bring it another day. The communication was so horrible with this company that I would never go back, nor would I recommend them to my worst enemy. When we picked up our car, they didn't even ask if we wanted to bring it in another day or was there an apology, etc. The customer service at this shop is no existent. Beware! read more

I just got work done here recently, I originally took it in because I was referred by another shop that they do good work. I took it in having an electrical problem. I dropped it off for a diagnostic and in a few hours I dropped by to check on it. They had come up with two reasons why it wasn't running right. I paid $80 for the diagnostics and took my truck and fixed the problems myself. Didn't help at all. I took it back and he said he will look at it. A day later I hadn't heard anything so I dropped by again. As soon as I got there Sergio the owner told me "it isn't ready, well call you tomorrow" and walked away. I'm the type of person that wants to know what's getting done to my truck. I leave, come back the day after. Talk to him again and he tells me I need a new computer. I order one from autozone and a few days later take it to him. He tells me he'll call me tomorrow. They install the computer. And it's still not running right. They pretty much start slapping parts on. Buying parts without even asking me if I want them to put parts on. After a bunch of parts being installed without my authorization it finally runs fine. To sum it all up. Horrible customer service. They don't keep the customer updated on what's going on and Sergio has an attitude when you go check on your car. They add parts without letting you know. I won't go back to this shop and I won't recommend it to anyone. read more

Passenger window in my 2004 ford f150 wouldn't roll up, and forecast was rain.... i called sergio's and they said come by and we will take a look..... they were super busy, dock full of cars and a line of cars parked across the street waiting to get worked on....but, he fit me in right away.... turns out it was just the switch box.... he called the dealer to get the part, he said, that sounds way too high, called o'reilleys and saved me money on the part, i picked up the part, brought it back, and they fixed it on the spot..... great job, top notch, highly recommended for your automotive electrical needs..... read more

I have a 1968 Chevy Nova and have been dealing with an electrical shortage for quite some time now. withing minutes, Sergio had already figured it out and fixed it. He easily could have made up a reason and charged me some ridiculous amount but instead they told me about it and gave me an estimate. After all the work was done and everything was installed, they came in $80 under the estimate. I will definitely be going there again and would certainly recommend them to anyone with electrical problem. read more

Great and honest mechanic! Have been coming here for years and he is reasonably priced.

Had to update my review. They fixed issue shortly after but still not happy I had to go through all the hoops. The last guy that helped me understood my frustrations and went ahead and took care of it and it turned out it was something simple that took only a few minutes to fix. What a difference from the other guy that I had spoken with to try to get the issue resolved, he just kept brushing me off. Anyways my vehicle is fixed and happy with that. read more

Sergio is a excellent diagnostic technician. If there's a problem, he can find it. That's why he is always so busy. He has a regular following who know they can trust him and get a decent price. I would recommend him knowing that you have to call ahead and get your car there when he says to, so you can get in early. read more

If you are a FEMALE, don't go to Sergio's. They told me that they would do a diagnostic test for $75 for my vehicle. But when I spoke to one of my MALE friend he told me he was only charged $35 for a diagnostic test. Don't trust them. They will rip you off. read more
