This review is probably long overdue, as I've been a customer of AutoTuned technically for years now. When I first bought my FRS, I was eager to begin my customization process and make the car aesthetically my own. Some of the bumps and bruises I received along the way were attributed to a few things: 1.) Not having a clear vision of what I wanted. 2.) Choosing the wrong person/people/shop to perform the work. 3.) Making decisions too quickly. Young, the owner, is a natural teacher. He wants you to know what he's doing, why he's doing it, and how he gets it done. Not ONE person I've ever done business with since buying my car would dare offer advice that may sway me to change my mind about paying for a service. Young did and continues to do so. My 3 bullet points actually come from conversations with him. This is the type of shop that wants to perform work that you TRULY want so you are TRULY satisfied with the product. They work for every dollar they make, are fair, are honest, and most importantly do what they say they're going to do. They don't allow room for questioning their work ethic and devotion to their craft and the passion they have for cars (and the FRS/86 specifically) make them the best choice for working on my FRS. He even sends me photos of other issues he comes across so there's no surprises and keeps me updated on progress on longer lead time installations/modifications. I called Auto Tuned 6/18/18 and left a message and got no response. Two days later I called once again and no answer, so I decided to message them on yelp only to be told they were extremely busy. However they asked what my question was and I responded. I followed up with them after two weeks and still got no response. Its been three months and no response whatsoever despite trying to reach this business over a one month period. Now I'm not unreasonable and I understand if you're really busy. However, this business did not have 5 minutes at all over a 3-4 month period to respond to my call or messages? All I had were a couple of inquiries and no I did not spam this business with calls, voice messages and yelp messages. I don't get how this business gets five stars when they can't even answer their phones, respond to voice messages or yelp messages. Its just a lack of good customer service plain and simple. Great place for tuning. I was looking for a shop in the SGV and it seemed that auto tuned was one of the few shops that could perform an. Engine tear down and rebuild. This is the first shop I've gone to with any car needs where they aren't trying to force you to buy things from them. I was asked what the plans for my car were & they made some good suggestions that'll save me money. This is one of the best shops I've ever been to! The customer service here is unparalleled. First of all, when I requested a quote over Yelp, he responded to every message professionally and quickly. I then decided to take my Chevy Cruze here to get my coilovers installed. Literally everyone that worked there was so friendly with me. From the time I arrived till the time I left. We ran into some problems with the engineering on my struts, but Young had no problem devoting his entire attention for as long as it took to get the problem fixed. Let me start with I am a perfectionist so I am very picky with who touches my car. With that said, this is the place if you want the work on your car done right! They installed an HKS exhaust and STi lip skirt on my BRZ. I will have all future mods to my BRZ done here! If there was a shop I would recommend to work on your car, this would be the one, hands down. I brought in my supercharged FRS with a huge boost leak and they went out of their way to fix the issue. Most shop would give up and kick you to the curb if they can't figure it out, these guys kept working on it to make sure I would leave the shop with a problem free car, and that's what they did... Even while they were working on a SEMA project. Besides that, Young and Meng has to be one the most chill guys around, they are very knowledgeable and treat every car they work on as if it was their own and everybody who comes in like family. My dad bought a Scion FR-S brand new back in 2014. He loved the car at first sight, but was not a fan of the FR-S antenna sticking out the way it did. After searching for an alternative for the funky looking antenna, I found Auto Tuned on IG. After looking at their page, I decided to give them a call to switch out the regular antenna on my dads FR-S for a shark fin antenna. While speaking to Young on the phone, he let me know the antenna that matched the car's exterior color was in stock. When I arrived to the shop, I was greeted immediately by Young. Young showed me the antenna that was going to be installed on the FR-S and got to work. He made sure the antenna was aligned and working. Also, since I was already there, I decided to add some fog lights to the car. Young made sure everything was perfect. His attention to detail is superb! All this was a few months ago.
