Ken's, in essence, completely ripped me off. OK for ppl that know (and don't) I bought a cheaper…read moreAlpine stereo (which I got because they didn't have a bracket to install the Kenwood I had picked out the day of install), four 6x8s all Alpine, a Rockford Fosgate 600W amp and one 15" RF subwoofer. I'm 46 yrs old. I was putting this system in my 19 yr old's car (05 Grand Marquis). The salesman picked out all the quipment. Told me it was all top of the line, cutting edge tech, I mean he SOLD IT. I haven't been into systems since 89/90 so I'm a lil out of the game. But when I WAS A KID, we went to Ken's and they did you right. I trusted the guy. Of course I came in with a budget for $1200 n he talked me into getting the above with install for $2100. Install day comes. First problem...radio has no bracket. They ask me if I'd like to "upgrade free of charge" to the Alpine. I said absolutely. Install is finished...didn't sound ANYTHING like what I had in 90. The stereo and 6x8s were good. Alpine is a great company. I tell them it's not the sound I envisioned. Keep in mind I told the salesman what I wanted...crisp, clean, loud mids n highs, and enough bass to play rock, but hit good n get low w hip hop. Anyway...they tell me it's cuz everything is brand new. They'll open up after breaking in. Before I drive a mile away, the bk right speaker quits n there's horrible engine noise. I take it right bk. Loose wire they say. A week later...same problem. Loose wire again they say...no more probs (we really got em on now). I get home and start looking at a Crutchfield magazine online to see the reviews of my purchase. The first thing I notice...I paid 3-4x what I could have simply ordered it for. I'm irate. But it's my own fault. I shouldn't have trusted a salesman. Then...my sub gets blown out just 2 weeks later. I find out they charged me more for the CHEAPEST RF sub (which I had) than the competition model! 300W blew it up in 2 weeks! They replace it with one just like it. Now I'm upset. I told them. They then replaced it with a model several grades up. For the next year n a half I constantly had at least one speaker out. Every time they told me it was a loose wire, something ez to fix. Continues on n on and I'm giving them a mouthful, but not push it so far they have reason not to help me. Finally. My warrantee had ran out. I had been for repairs 7-8 times. THIS TIME it's not a loose wire. My amp is faulty. Hmmmm. If I were a betting man I'd say this was the prob from the beginning. They SOLD me a used, defective amp and kept me hanging till the warranty ran out. When I talked to them they asked in a cheery voice if I'd like to order another amp just like it. My friends that understand car audio and electronics tell me it's TERRIBLE. Both the install and plan. 300W is NOTHING for this subwoofer. It can take 4-5x that amount of power. That's why I hardly had bass. Just enough to give some punch n add depth but no boom and by God for $2100 I wanted some boom! OK I want to acknowledge to everyone thinking I should have done my homework, you're exactly right. I mistakenly trusted this place. It's amazing how it's run compared to bk in my days (late 80s, early 90s) *The biggest thing I took away from this experience if you felt that was too long...just read this. 1) they knowingly sold me a defective amp 2) they knowingly sold me all items that you could order online for 3-4x the amount online 3) they were incompetent in many aspects. Especially day of install when I had to choose a different stereo cuz they didn't have the bracket for the one I picked 4) every time I had an issue, I would have to schedule a date 2-3 weeks ahead n leave the car all day. This was 60 miles round trip 5) even the day of install, nobody showed me my system or how to work anything, or acted in any way they were "proud" of their work. It was just parked out front n they threw the keys like I had a flat tire patches 6) I got neither any of my original stereo speakers or radio back nor any boxes or manuals how to work it 7) Finally, after over spending, given excuses that never fixed the problem, the terrible service and waiting...I decided to write Mike, the guy you see on TV, a letter explaining my problems. I spent $2100 n less than 2 yrs later I have no sounds at all. We thought Mike was cool n a nice guy when we were younger. It went unreturned. I could have went much, much further but I already wrote the equivalent of a novel. Suffice to say, I will NEVER return to Ken's and I BEG anyone else not to go

I reached out and listed what I needed done: install a new head unit, preserve existing functions like steering wheel controls, and replace the existing backup camera. The quote I received was a bit on the high side (on par with full-service professional shops), but he was available immediately, so we proceeded. Between the booking and the install date, he changed the appointment time three times, but did eventually arrive. Even though he knew the task, he did not have all the tools or supplies for the job and asked me if I had some he could use. He struggled with the head unit but eventually got it working; however, he refused to install the camera, insisting on a particular brand. We agreed that he would return when that arrived to complete the work. Then things got wild. He had three different aliases and wasn't sure which one he wanted to use (Tez, Demetrius Cooper, Shantoni Tilghman, etc). He gave me the wrong Zelle number for payment, resulting in the funds being irretrievably sent to some other person. At this point, I told him I would not be paying again using any payment apps; check or cash only. He finally returned to complete the installation (for which I would effectively be paying twice), claiming he was "doing me a solid" by doing so. On this trip, he could not figure out how to get the steering wheel controls or the new camera working. At this point, he became visibly frustrated and claimed those weren't included in the original quote, stating they would double the installation price and that he would not use the manufacturer's recommended parts, only some third party parts (apparently the only ones he knows how to install). As icing on the cake, he "forgot" what I told him about payment and wanted me to use yet another payment app. I flatly refused after our last merry-go-round. It was then that I discovered my bank still had a hold on transfers after I had to file a claim against the original payment mistake he created. While I was still trying to untangle the banking issue he caused late into the night, he texted me to say I had made him feel like all of this was his fault and to "keep that money," claiming he was an "honest guy." He got over this morality passed pretty quickly, and contacted me a few hours later to ask where his money was. I am not sure if this is the prelude to a scam or if he legitimately had a memory lapse. Seriously, learn from my mistake and avoid this person/company at all costs. He is not only technically incompetent, but there is some exceptionally shady stuff going on here. Demetrius actually responds to shift the blame on me, but cannot deny anything I have said, because I have screenshots of everything from him and the bank. The ironic thing, is that he had manned up, admitted his limitation and honored his quote (or reduced it since he could not do the complete job), I probably would have REPAIDED him out of pity. Shame on you, sir! UPDATE: Business owner doxxed me in attempt to intimidate me into removing negative review. Escalated to Yelp's legal team.

I found his services to be expensive yet done incorrectly. I ended up having to pay a real professional car installation company to correct his work that next week because my radio was pretty much useless after he worked on it. He's unskilled and came unprepared. I had to loan him my own drills so he could to do the job. I even had to give him a step by step YouTube video to install the subwoofer. After he installed the 3 speakers they sounded distorted and blown. He told me NOT to turn up the volume for 3 days. Otherwise the "subwoofer may be damaged forever." So i never got to listen to the system with any real volume while he was still here. I bought everything from Crutchfield that he needed to install everything right but he told me two items were unnecessary and so he didn't install them....(an LOC and custom speaker brackets). He even admitted he didn't know what an LOC was or where it went. So I called a crutchfield technician while he was still here to educate the both of us. He spoke to the tech who told him it was needed. He then said Crutchfield was unnecessarily up-selling me things that i didn't need. My new installer i took the car to had to reinstall the amp he installed because it was installed so poorly, they put the brackets around the speakers he neglected to use and installed the LOC. They said not installing these things was the reason for the blown speaker sound. The car sounds amazing...now. The new installer charged me $400 to correct Tez's shoddy work. I texted Tez about the bad job he did and asked him to reimburse me $140 of that because i felt it was only appropriate. I got back a thumbs up emoji. He said he'd call but never did. So installing an amp, a subwoofer and set of speakers costs me $830 in total for Tez's job and then to correct his work. I can't even say you get what you pay for because the initial price he quoted me increased by 20% once he arrived. I told him I had no problem paying him that because i believe in paying people what their worth so i did. I do not believe his services are of any quality or value. Your car is a big investment so take it to a professional instead.

The sound quality was old, and I wanted him to have Bluetooth capabilities, especially if talking on the phone while driving. I bought all the parts online and my first few quotes in my hometown of Alpharetta was 3 hours of labor at between $250-$300. I decided to look around the area I worked (midtown) and came across Miguel (High Volume Audio). He gave me a quote over the phone that was a fraction of my previous quotes! He came to my job, installed the radio and two front speakers in under an hour, and even helped me connect to the Bluetooth and get the settings to a place that the music sound quality was amazing! When I tested the Bluetooth, I sounded crystal clear. Miguel was AWESOME and I will recommend him in the future to anyone I know that has audio needs! Thanks Miguel!

Fast, efficient and extremely competitive pricing. Fast forward almost 1 year later. The unit itself began to malfunction. I went to Best Buy where I had bought the unit and they told me I would need to uninstall it, send it off to the manufacturer, and wait. That means riding around with an empty space in my dash and no music to listen to; not happening. THIS IS WHERE IT GETS GOOD. I called Traffic Jams just to leave a voicemail on a Saturday night at 9pm hoping it would be the first voicemail they got Monday morning. 5 minutes later I got an email from the owner/manager (Ron) saying to bring it in on Monday and they'd take a look at it. Stellar customer service! To add to, I already had plans to lift my Jeep, install new wheels and tires, fix a tear in the leather on the driver seat AND install a new muffler. Traffic Jams handled ALL OF IT. Jamille was my go-to guy. I can be high maintenance when it comes to my vehicle since I've invested so much money into it over the years. He handled my questions and concerns with ease. If he didn't already have a job with Traffic Jams, I'd hire him on the spot. If you're considering any kind of work done to your vehicle, don't hesitate to take it to Traffic Jams. They know what they're doing and the back up their work 100%. Best decision I've made regarding my vehicle since buying it.
