Tony said they were backed up and I offered to drop it off early just in case Tony and team got some extra time, as the family had an urgent college move-in date to make :-) Tony and team got the sensor part in and quickly turned it around, including some Q/A to make sure it was stable. They advised me that to get into the trans and change that, they should replace the whole transmission for a couple hundred more, otherwise they couldn't guarantee the work. And they charged $150 for this "diagnosis". They wanted thousands of dollars for a new transmission, and I was stuck because I couldn't take the emissions test to renew my plates with a check engine light on. Brought it to Tony's Transmissions, and he replaced the sensor in a few days for a few hundred dollars. I can't remember the exact amount because I paid cash and it was about a year ago, but I just saw his business pop up when I was doing a search and remembered that I should have left him a review back then. He really did great work. Check engine light was off, car passed emissions, and we drove it for another year before selling it a friend for his teenage son. Car is still running strong.

That is where the nightmare began. My husband was suddenly hit with a terminal illness and I was left to take care of all the problems my husband usually handled. My truck's engine light came on and I was told by Carmax that I could bring it to them or to an auto repair shop that was recognized by the warranty company that I purchased the car from. My husband had used Pete's for emissions before and it was on the top of the list. They discovered my truck needed a different engine. I say different because it certainly wasn't new. The cost was quoted as $10,000 which was paid by the warranty company. So why now in September 2026 is the truck still having the same problems??? Actually it is worse! After at least 5 times to this shop my car is spewing out clouds of white smoke!!! They picked up the truck on Monday 8/24/26 and returned it on 8/31/26. I drove it to work and back home. As I was driving so much smoke spewed out of the back of my truck I thought it was on fire! And of course my husband died in February this year so I feel like I am taken advantage of as a woman. I am devastated that I can't trust this guy. I have no recourse because I can't trade in the car.It is clearly a lemon and I am being treated like a fool.

They're so honest about exactly what you need done, what you can skip that a dealer will try to sell you, and do it all at a reasonable price. Most recently, I brought in my daughter's Jeep Wrangler for an inspection before her Spring Break road trip. Besides noting it was due for brake and filter changes, Angel also noticed an oil leak. Rather than trying to gouge me for a diagnosis, he told me to take it to the dealer and have them diagnose it. Sure enough, it was a damaged oil pan that had to be replaced- under my warranty. Many shops would try to quote you a price and do it, but I appreciate it when these guys tell me to take the cars to the dealers when there's a big problem. Just the best place- I wish more businesses were like this. The world would be a better place: 5 stars, absolutely the best in the business.
