Fair and honest.. they didn't charge for looking at my truck and were honest about its needs. I went to others who also gave me the same results but charged $200 just to look at it. Would definitely return and recommend. read more

All straight forward. Good people and 100 on how they handle people. They should be the standard.

I went to Nicks for what I suspected was a rear main seal leak. Nick had me come in to diagnose the problem at no charge. He got me in quickly and when they found the problem he brought me out to the shop to show me. He put a camera into the bell housing and showed me where it was leaking. Nick gave me a quote with a complete breakdown of the costs. Parts, labor, supplies and taxes. It was a fair price. He ordered the parts, all OEM. when he received them he called me to bring the car in. I dropped off my car on Wednesday and it was done and ready to pick up at noon on Friday. Nice people, fair prices quick service and the job was done right. It's not easy to find an auto repair shop you can trust. I will be using Nicks for all my future repairs. Great Job. read more

Nick and Edgar were knowledgeable and friendly. I received a Free Car Inspection and was given information on my car that other mechanics didn't provide. Truly a blessing and will work with them again. read more

Nice costumer service nick great personality makes you feel welcome I recommend it for any problem

Hands down the best service shop in the Chicagoland area. The crew is hardworking, honest, and always provide excellent communication. Our car is 21 years old & very fussy, the team at Nick's keeps us going strong no matter what the issue is. We're former Honda dealership customers and the experience we had there drove us to look into repair shops all over the city. None, and I mean 0% of them, gave us the 5 star quality & customer service that we've gotten at Nick's. Even AAA's recommended "premier service center" was a dismal experience when it came to the basics like an oil change; their technicians were rude, they kept trying to push unnecessary services, and they left our car a mess inside. Hate to see what they'd do on a more extensive job. A big shout out to the team: Nick, Pete, Dominic, Steve, Jesse, and anyone we've not mentioned here, you're the best crew in town & our Prelude LOVES you! Thanks a million, Chris & Tess B. read more

Awesome shop, I called to get some work done last minute on a fleet vehicle and Nick the service manager squeezed me in right away. They ordered parts fast and got the work done quickly so I could get back to work as soon as possible. Great customer service, these guys rock. Highly recommended! read more

Had to go get something fixed in my tire per discount tire and as busy as they were they got me in and out very quickly. If I lived closer this would be my new place to go. They did not turn anyone that came in or called said they could look at that day. I was very impressed with the customer service and everyone seemed very happy with them. read more

Though I did not get any service done with Nick, he was kind enough to get on the phone with me to discuss issues with transmissions for the model/make of my son's car, and give me some perspective as to how I should help my son proceed. I appreciate the conversation, and thanks to Nick, I think I have a solid approach to getting the issue resolved. This is a promise: if I have any issues with any transmission on any vehicle in my house (4 cars), Nick has my business. Thanks, Nick...your time and expertise was really appreciated. Side note: if any of you readers have a 2015-16 Ford Focus, give it back!! Ford does not take any responsibility for their crappy transmissions! read more

Good reliable place I took my car there three years ago to get a rebuilt transmission it was a little bit pricier than most places but since then I haven't had any problems with my car. read more

I purchased new tires and need an alignment so I made an appointment at Nick's. I'm only available on the weekends so it was a couple of weeks for my appointment. Little wait and my car was serviced in a timely manner. Nick and the others were very curtious, friendly, and professional. While I waited, I heard Nick interact with a number of customers and treated everyone with respect and was upfront. My car came out driving as straight as a laser beam. I would recommend Nick's for an alignment or any other service. read more

Came in for wheel alignment which took months to book. Was told I needed control arms, I Was quoted double the price for parts. I saved half that amount by shopping around. Staff seems friendly, but its as if its to upsell & overcharge you. Definitely will not visit again. Shop around & save money! read more

I was told about Nick's Transmission by a Employee who told me I have nothing to worry about he takes care of everything with the Warranty Company! Since I've been to the Dealership and was taken for 2 Transmissions at the time of visiting Nick's Shop. And being in the Managers Life since he was in the 1st Grade I knew I would finally get the Job done Right. The Day I went there they put it on the Rack, told me to take it Back to the Dealership! Turning my Business away, Mgr won't speak to me. Since then I've had 2 more Dealership Transmissions! The 1st of the 2 was Slipping. The Day I drove it away from the Dealership Naperville Chrysler! Warranty Company told me to call when it goes out! your Covered. It Slipped so bad I would try to excellerate and it would stall and then caught and slammed me into a Hugh Mailbox doing $2000.00 Damage. and the 2nd one went out last week. I still owe $10,000 on the Van. and Can't Drive it anymore. NICK AND STEVE TURNED ME AWAY! THANK YOU STEVE & GOOD BYE Being a part of your life was a big waste of Time. All you had to do is help with a REAL Transmission!!!!!! read more

This place had the best customer service that I had ever experienced. Nick explained in detail what needed to be fixed. After the service was completed we took my car on a test drive to make that I was satisfied. He also advised me to come in for a two week checkup to make sure that my vehicle transmission was still running well, no charge. This service also came with a two year warranty. read more

Great place. Not a rip off artist like some other places out here. Great service. The only place I will take my SUV.

My first time visiting for an alignment. I made an appointment for 4 o clock, called about ten minutes before to let them know I would be a few minutes late, it was no problem. Nick was extremely inviting and professional. They offer fresh coffee, tea and other beverages while you wait. Comfortable waiting area. My alignment was done and tested in 20 minutes and I believe I've found a new go-to mechanic. Very fair prices as well, especially if you are also a customer of Discount Tire on 95th st. read more

Nick and his staff do great work and Nick is a pleasure to work with. I have been bringing all my cars to him for the past 5 years. He works closely with my warranty company for covered repairs and is very understanding when you have to pay out-of-pocket. I don't take my car anywhere else. read more

The shop did fix my issue...but only after several trips back to report the same initial problem. By several I mean 5 or 6 times. this happened over the course of 8 months or so. They did eventually fix the problem but that was after they replaced my transmission(which was not even what they fixed to cure my problem) and $2k later! I wouldn't say that it is a bad shop, but I wouldn't say that it is a good shop. Plus, everytime you visit you will come out smelling like cigarettes. read more

Carmax referred me to Nick's and I have never been more satisfied! Nick is the most honorable, polite, knowledgeable and genuine person I have ever met. His staff is really friendly (especially Jimmy) and the service is excellent! Nick kept me in the loop during the entire repair process and if you are not happy, he isn't happy. He is always friendly and the customer service is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. From now on this will be the only auto repair shop to touch my vehicle! read more

I haven't lived in the south side burbs for long so finding a great auto repair shop with great service and reasonably priced is hard to find. I was lucky to be recommended to Nicks by another great company discount tires in crestwood. I first brought my car here for alignment and brakes. Everything was great. I'm 42 and it's hard to find any company that still values its customers with respect and a very very family feeling. It's something that I believe has been lost in the customer service trade. I highly recommend Nicks. It's a place I would send my mom to. They are honest straight forward and on the mark. Thanks again read more

ROSELLE location 1068 w lake st. 60172. HONEST and STRAIGHT FORWARD cant agree more. After going to several shops and getting the WORST case scenario about my transmission, I stumbled into BRIAN at the roselle location. He knew immediately that my 03 Acura was known to have tranny problems. Instead of trying to put me through the ringer, like I already experienced, he not only took the time to explain in terms I understood, but fixed what was a manageable leak. This is the first time I have taken the time to write a review anywhere, which should show you how impressed I was. More than FAIR!! read more

Bad customer service , i have a bad experience trying to get an estimate for my transmission . Not recommended .

By far the worst experience I've encountered with a mechanic. Unfortunately, my mechanic moved location to another city and I came here because they specialize in Transmission work. I dropped my car off on a Friday morning for a diagnostic (I had the codes already but needed to verify). I was told I'd get a phone call with a quote later that day but Saturday at the latest. Saturday comes around, no phone call. I call them Monday afternoon and I get, "We'll call you in 15 min." 2 hours later, still no phone call so I call back and the owners son picked up. I was definitely mad and spoke in a way I shouldn't have, but they don't know what it means to keep your word. Horrible customer service. Ended up telling me what I already knew and didn't even open the trans like they said they would to properly diagnose. Basically gave me a ballpark figure on what it would be to rebuild a trans. Thanks for nothing! read more

My family and I were on a two week road trip and we ended up having transmission problems when we got to Chicago. My wife found Nick's Transmission online and it had great reviews so I decided to drive down there to see if they could take a look. My transmission needed to be rebuilt because it was so bad. Nick, Jim and the whole team were awesome and they were able to rebuild my transmission in one day. They basically saved our vacation!! Jim gave me a ride to the train and picked me up the next day when it was ready. I highly recommend these guys! read more

I have been taking my car to Nick and his father for many years now because I trust them. I know that Jimmy his manager at Burbank and the other mechanics there will find the problem and fix it. First time I try this place. I had a check engine light and they gave me a diagnosis free of charge. They rebuilt the transmission. It only took a couple of days and my car was ready. Excellent customer service. Nick explained to me my options and was very honest. Jim provided me with the quote with competitive pricing and was very honest and proactive in ordering the parts right away to get my car fixed and out on the street again. They want me too come back in a couple of weeks to inspect the transmission and make sure everything is running as supposed to. They seem to care about their clients and follow up on their work.
