I was advised to go back to Eagle because if it was a transmission issue, they'd want to resolve such. I have had at least 3 different cars serviced at Lowetech going back six years. They were…read morerecommended by a friend because of their honesty. I am not a mechanic, but here is why I recommend Lowetech to ALL of my friends without reservation. I took my car for an oil change (at one of the chain oil change places) and they gave me the usual laundry list of services my car needed. A couple of them seemed fairly serious, so I took it in to Lowetech and said, "The oil change place said I need this, and you guys don't charge as much as they do. I need to get this done." Dan laughed and said, "We'll check it and see." They checked and said there was no problem with my car. I walked in, ready to pay, and they said, "No issues here. No charge". I got my car hung up on a driveway leaving a driveway with a drop off I did not see. Had to have a tow truck lift me off the curb so I was concerned about damage under my car. Took it to Lowetech and they put it up on the lift, checked it, said "No issues and no charge." Last story. I had a Chevy Malibu with a leaking radiator. I tried to pour sealant in to fix it without reading/understanding the very clear instructions, "Do not use this product if you fill your radiator from the overflow tank." Needless to say, I caused some damage to my car. Lowetech quoted me a price and went to work. Short version: one problem led to another on my car, and it took much longer to work on/fix than expected. I was prepared to pay MUCH more in labor charges, but they honored their original price. The only reference I have for price/value is what the oil change places, and dealership quote me (when I go in for recall work). Lowetech is always WAY cheaper. But the most important thing to me is integrity. So what if they are $50 cheaper than the place down the street if they are telling me/charging me for services I don't need. The Lowetech guys are men of integrity. I will continue to take my cars and send my friends there, gladly associating my name with their work.

I dropped my vehicle off because the air conditioning went out on 15 September 2026 in my Chevy. We…read morecurrently live in Louisiana, but were visiting in Texas on the way out of town for a road trip. They estimated that my repair time would be approximately 3-4 hours. It took a little over 6 hours to repair the vehicle. They charged just over $1,100 to replace just the compressor. I left for a road trip to Colorado the next day from Mansfield. Approx. 5 hours into a 12-hour drive, the AC stopped working again. Turns out the condenser failed as well. At the time, I was not aware that they didn't replace the whole unit, especially with the price they charged. I called, and the shop said they would get me in as soon as possible, but they aren't open on weekends. I had to drive the remainder of the drive in summer with no AC, and the entire 12-hour drive back to Texas after our road trip was over. We waited until Monday because they aren't open on weekends and brought in the vehicle first thing Monday morning. Had to call off work to wait around for them to fix the AC. Approximately 2 hours later, the shop informed us that the AC was repaired. It was still late morning, so it was relatively cool. About 30-45 minutes into the drive, we realized that the AC was still not functioning properly. Upon calling and returning to the shop again, they informed us that they didn't actually repair anything; they just pressed the AC button, felt cool air, and determined that the AC was functioning properly. It was still broken. We left the vehicle with them the same day and overnight to fix it the next day. They informed us they couldn't diagnose the issue or start repairs on Monday because it wasn't "hot enough" outside. They never called us with any updates during all of these repairs; we were always the ones who had to reach out for updates. On Tuesday, they didn't give us an update until 3:30 in the afternoon after waiting around all day again and having to call off work. They informed us that the condenser failed and that they didn't replace it before, and wanted to charge us another $ 700-ish to replace the condenser. I informed them that I was displeased with the delays and service that we'd received so far, and that we couldn't miss any more work (we live out of town). A service rep told us, "I've had my car repaired many times, and I've never missed work over it; there's Uber and lots of ways you could figure out how to still work". In a respectful and calm demeanor, I informed the rep that I would be giving a negative review online for my negative experience with their business, and he could not have cared less. The overall poor communication, slow service times, disrespectful comments towards my wife and me, and failure to properly diagnose the problem and solve it on multiple occasions led to this poor rating. Highly recommend avoiding this business at all costs.
