My longtime mechanic had retired, and I wasn't sure where to go next until I discovered D&G Auto Repair on Yelp! In August 2025, I brought my car in for brake service (pads and rotors replacement). From the very beginning, I felt I was in good hands. Paulo, the manager, responded to my Yelp inquiry almost immediately. He was professional, kind, and attentive. He listened carefully to my concerns and explained everything in a clear, respectful way, something I truly appreciate. I felt a strong sense of trust that he genuinely cared about my car and my safety. When I arrived at the shop, Paulo was just as professional and kind in person. He made me feel confident in my choice to use to D&G Auto Repair. After I left my car, he followed up via text with an estimated bill before starting any work, which gave me peace of mind and control over the process. The shop itself is small but clearly run by expert technicians, and the waiting room is clean and comfortable, a nice bonus! I returned yesterday with a question about a noise I'd heard. Tony, one of the technicians, came out and personally walked around my car with me. He pointed out how clean it looked and even asked about repairs I had done elsewhere. He gave me a mini lesson on body repair which was surprisingly enlightening. He then gave me directions to the nearest Auto Parts store and Car Wash. That kind of extra care is rare and so appreciated. I was quoted high and low for the job from many other shops but I chose this shop because it stood out in the best ways. I meet the owner as I was searching shops for quotes and stopped by early (9am roughly) met the owner, he had me feeling comfortable for he is a friendly guy. I told him how I have a 2018 Chevy Silverado with a messed up transmission he told me that he's very familiar with the brand and the showed that he's definitely knowledgeable and confident which other shops happen to lack. He on the spot quoted me for the best possible opinion with my truck's condition I liked that he mentioned a 3 year warranty on parts and labor for the job. He insured me that the truck would come in and would be done a week from the day I leave my truck. The price was absolutely reasonable for the hefty work load (5k). I had went to other shops they said they could try and address the issue directly and I could spend less but those people lack confidence in the work they happen to mention that they have only done one other Chevy prior and that it was difficult they lost me at that point. I have spoken to the dealership and they nearly quoted me for double the price with no close date or availability. This shops was the best bang for my buck the reviews brought me and and they absolutely delivered. I have been driving my truck daily since for a little over a week now and not a hiccup or tick or leak in sight they really did there thing. They was punctual on the timing and they know what there doing which is key in a highly sensitive job like this, price was good, owners a cool guy as well, the warranty is amazing. The owner of the shop was extremely unprofessional, he kept me there for an hour and a half when I really only needed to be there for 15 minutes, all he needed to do was pop open the hood find out there was a leak in the slave and master and then have me sign a piece of paperwork. But in the hour and a half I was there he asked me where I lived, how much I earned, where I worked, if I would come live with him or if I knew any other young girls who would come live with him and he also kept trying to find excuses to give me a driving lesson, when I do not need one. He finished the work in 2 days, which wasn't bad. The day before I went in to pick it up I explained that I couldn't pick it up during normal business hours because of my work schedule and I asked the owner if he could just leave the car locked with the keys inside and that I'd pick it up around 8pm (I have a spare key). He agreed to this but when I went to pick up the car the next night it was parked on the side of the road unlocked with the keys in the ignition, and there was a burning smell every time I drove My car for 2 weeks after. Fast forward a month later to today and my gears are beginning to have trouble shifting again so I popped open my hood for the first time since I got it fixed and found a burned milk jug with brown liquid in it under my hood and my coolant tube for my engine was not sticking into whatever it needed to be in, it was just laying on top of my engine. Now I know why my car smelled after, it was the milk jug they left in there burning! I am absolutely furious with the quality of the work and how I was treated and would definitely not recommend this place, especially not to a young female.
