WARNING -- SCAM BUSINESS, ELDER ABUSE avoid at all costs. After an accident, someone (likely working with Marco) had my car towed to Auto Magic -- without my permission. They spoke to my elderly father, who is not the owner, and no one ever disclosed towing or storage fees. Marco originally quoted me $13,000 for repairs. When I told him I'd be getting a second estimate and that insurance wasn't covering it, he immediately dropped the price to $8,000 and admitted he inflates quotes to get more from insurance companies. When we declined the repairs and went to pick up the car, he hit us with $1,654.90 in surprise charges -- including storage and towing fees we were never told about. He refused to release the car unless we paid. We had no choice but to pay under protest. This is predatory and dishonest business. Owner admits he has been taken to court MULTIPLE TIMES. Possibly insurance fraud. Stay far away. And BTW- the second quote from another shop was $3,000! So he was trying to upcharge by 10k!! read more

High curbs and streets pitched low at the sewers had taken a few nibbles from the Camaros lower body which I have put on the back burner of my To Do List. So when mom's car took a deep fish eye just above the drivers side at the rear of her whip, I thought to handle both pronto. The Auto Magic shop was quite busy on the morning I stopped by, so calling first would behoove ya, however the businesses lot is quite large, so pulling in on the fly is a perfectly acceptable approach as well. I was immediately addressed and we left our cars and keys and took the short walk home after some light paperwork. As neither were insurance matters I spoke to the business owner Marco to lightly touch on price sensitivity. Immediately I felt a comfort come as he assured neither cars body work would be a large number. I felt reassured from Marcos long history in our neighborhood, his relationships with his customers, but most of all, I had complete confidence in his skills as I had seen many cars over the years rolling in wrecks and rolling out looking showroom ready. Lastly, as I looked to read the few single star reviews I noticed the first to review (FTR) has no profile pic, no review history at all, then the second single star -- no profile pic no review history, the third one star review -- you guessed it, no profile pic, no review history, no nothing. We've seen this before friends and it speaks to jealous competitors, a possibly disgruntled past worker but whatever the underlying story, they are not legitimate at all and should be discounted. read more

I was living in Queens last year when my Hyundai SUV got side swiped while parked overnight on my corner. Spoke to my insurance company and needed to choose a body shop afterwards so I asked for a recommendation in the area and twice I was referred to Auto Magic, so I went to get an estimate and the turnaround time because I can not be without a vehicle long. A long waiting time would have been a deal breaker. The rear fender was badly cracked and the wheel was rubbing against something inside. When I pulled into the lot, I was greeted by the owner and I told him that time was important and getting it to look as good as new as we all want. I was given an appointment for the very next day and two days later my SUV was ready to be picked up in the amount of time that I had in mind and the price came in also in the range I had hoped as well. Marco is indeed a magician. He fixed some minor damage to my fender and the work was impeccable. Even more impressive was how he eliminated some deep scratches on the vinyl cover of my passenger-side mirror. The vinyl was textured but you can't tell any difference between the repaired area and the rest of the cover. Both jobs were done within a few hours; I dropped off and picked up the same day. And the cost was extremely reasonable on the fender work. I'd send anyone with whatever car problems they've got, even if they're outside my neighborhood, to Marco's shop. read more

I originally spoke with someone there who gave me a great quote - I had my passenger side mirror taken off by a motorcyclist. I spoke with him on a Friday afternoon, and he agreed to order a mirror and paint for me by Monday. He told me he could not get it done over the weekend. He told me he'd text me Monday and I could bring my car in and he would do the job. Great! Monday comes - crickets. I text him - still crickets. Finally I call him, and he tells me "oh yeah I deleted your text and mixed it up by accident with another Volkswagen owner," text me again and I'll have it in tomorrow. I explain to him this is the last day I'm working from home and that getting my car was very important - would he DEFINITELY have it by tomorrow? "No, I don't know, maybe not, maybe Wednesday." NEVER apologized, was nasty as can be. Check my profile - I barely EVER leave bad reviews because I feel bad for small businesses but this man just blatantly lied with no accountability, repeatedly, and then did not even have the wherewithal to apologize or act civil. My Lexus was in a minor accident a few months ago. The driver's side bumper became dislodged. Nothing major. Today, on a whim, I went to Marco's place just to have them put on the new registration sticker and asked him what he could do to repair the damage. At first he said that ideally I could get a new bumper but it would cost over $1,000; too much for a 13 year old car. Then he said he could put in a couple screws. It took 15 minutes and the damaged area looks brand new. He only charged me $30 which I was more than happy to pay. Best of all, I'm a woman and he didn't talk down to me or try to rook me. After bringing my 1986 Nissan Sentra station wagon to another auto body repair shop in Forest Hills to replace the rightside 2 doors and front fender that had been side-swiped in a hit-and-run while it was parked on the street, I was very frustrated. Two weeks later, I received a call that informed me that the necessary parts could not be located for this 'ancient' car. Then I came upon Auto Magic, and while I waited, Marco proceeded to search the internet and identified a source who emailed a picture of the necessary parts. He quoted a price, which I thought was reasonable, so I gave him a deposit and drove home. A few days later, he called to tell me that the source was a scam, which was not uncommon, and that he would continue searching. Later that week, he called to tell me that his search was successful and we made arrangements for me to bring in the car. His estimate of how long the work would take was very accurate and when I came to pick it up, I was not prepared for the 'like-new' appearance of my 33-year-old car. As it turned out, the costs of the side mirror and the lock on the front door were above the original estimate, but Marco was not going to charge me. I was so grateful for the beautiful job that he had completed on time, and above all, his perseverance, his patience, and his professional approach, that I insisted on paying for the extra costs. Marco is indeed an asset to the Forest Hills community, a superb craftsman, and truly a pleasure to do business with. I highly recommend him to all my friends and neighbors. read more

Stay away from this crook! He collected almost $7000 from my insurance to repair my vehicle. Was supposed to replace rear quarter panel and door. Never replaced anything, but covered them up with lots of plastic paste to make it look good. Eight months after the plastic is cracking and leaking brown liquid all over the outside of the car. Took it back and he claims he cannot remember working on my car. Had to take it to another body shop who showed me what he did. He should be put out of business. I have reported him to the insurance company that paid him. Do not take you vehicle there. He is plain dishonest. Should be called "Auto Plastic Repairs." read more
