He did suggest before I drove all the way to Reno that I'd check with my dealership to make sure the remote fob that I had was compatible because it was different than the one I had before. I had a problem with my car stalling when I had to stop on a red light. After having my car checked and not finding a problem someone told me to have my key checked. I called Auto Locksmith explained my problem to Michelle (Nice Lady) she told me that she knew what my problem was I needed to have my security setting reset . I offer to bring my car to their place of business but was told that she needed to send some one out to me. So far so good. I received a call from " Joe" I be there in 45 min. Okay. Joe arrive. I explain to him what is going on with my car. He ask me for my keys went to his van got on his phone came back got in my car still talking on his phone. Got out and telling me that he talked to his good friend that knew more about cars then him and his words: " I am sorry I can't do anything for you because your keys don't have a chip" I ask him didn't you know this before you came out here? I had given my car information to Michelle. He became very defensive. I was not happy, but ask him how much do I owe you. He said $45.00 , I give him my D.C. he entered it in his machine and then informed me that there would be $15. fee for using a D.C. After he left and I thought about the service or better the no service I received I called Michelle back explained to her what just happened and that I was no happy with the service I received. She ask me didn't Joe ask you any questions about the problems you are having . I told her no he never ask me any questions . She said she would have to talk to her supervisor and call me back. No call back from Michelle. But Joe calls me and became very abusive because I called Michelle and not him. I told him that my first contact with A.L. was with Michelle and not with him and that is why I called her since I believed that is whom I should contact with a complain. To make a long story short I would never use Auto Locksmith again. As of to day there has been no fallow up from the Auto Locksmith on my complain. read more

Make sure you negotiate a price before they get in your car. Dont let them tell you depends on "how involved" this will be. It will take 10 min. You will be charged according to where you live, what you drive, what they can get out of you. Honestly, would try someone else first. They are fast, prob because many know the deal. We would totally disagree on the negative reviews from 5 or 6 years ago. We would like to thank the young man who took care of our 2023 motorhome transponder key problem this week. He was very polite, with a friendly open personality and had the keys and knowledge to replace our keys. Both RV Country and Ford were unable to supply the 2023 keys and the programming. It was worth the time and 130 mile round trip to meet with him and his mobile unit on the road in Reno. Autolocksmith should be very proud of his attitude, pleasant personality and his knowledge. My wife and I were very pleased to have met him as a man and as a technician. Its not often we find someone as competent and pleasant in this modern world. The local dealer said the mfg was backordered at least a month on key blanks and they would need our motorhome there at least a day and the price would be at least $250+ For 1 key. We had 2 keys made and programmed at way under the mfg price for 1 and in about 30 or 40 min they were tested and we were on our way home. read more

Ignition lock on our 2004 Honda Pilot failed. Could not start the car or remove the key. Called Auto Locksmith Reno and asked for service the following day because I did not need the car any sooner. They called 20 minutes before arrival, replaced the ignition component, then made sure all the keys worked. It was convenient, fast, pleasant, and less expensive than taking it to the dealer. If I could give a Zero or a Negative review I would in a heartbeat. I've never been disgusted by the lack of customer service and the treatment that these people give you. I had called them asking for a locksmith because I had locked myself out of my car in a parking lot and wasnt looking forward to standing around in the cold. I had been given a potential quote over the phone for how much everything would be so I told them to go ahead and send me a locksmith to help me out. Upon arriving to where I was the locksmith called me and told me he was lost, He had passed me and ended up on the other side of the building from where I was and it took him nearly 15-20 minutes just to find me. Finally arriving he had taken a look at my car and told me it would've been a simple task to get me in it may just take a little longer. I had asked how much everything was going to cost and he then proceeded to tell me a price that was easily 4X over what I had been told on the phone which had surprised me. Not being able to pay that big of a bill I made a phone call to get my spare key and to just bite the bullet and wait in the cold I told him I was just gonna wait until My key showed up. He then told me that I was going to pay him for having to drive all the way over to where I was when his shop was only 6 minutes away from where I was (his words). After demanding that I pay i had gotten nervous because of his demeanor and chose to abide by what he asked. Upon taking my card out of my wallet he then snatched it from my hand, scanned it and asked for my signature, naturally in order to make the payment. He then took off and so did I waiting for my key to arrive I had called the store to let the customer service know what I had just experienced. Now this is where the "being disgusted" by customer service comes into play. I don't know what world you live in where its okay to disrespect and interrupt the customer and demand they "get to the point" over the phone while you're trying to explain to them in detail what had happened. I had explained to him what had happened and how I was told the price would have been early 4X more than what I was originally told on the phone which was my first issue to which I ended up answering questions about what kind of car I have etc. etc. I had tried to explain to him the encounter of how long it took the driver to get to me and the issue in regards to him demanding that I pay for him to travel "all the way" over to where I was. The man on the phone was extremely rude and kept interrupting me and raising his voice when I was merely just trying to explain calming the issues I had been having. He then told me he would call me back because he had more important matters to deal with (a little rude but alright) I then was to the point where I was just dropping it and letting it go where I was just fed up and didnt want to deal with any more problems. I finally received a call from him saying he would only give me a refund for the money i had spent if i had AAA for my car to in which i didnt. He then offered to copy my key for me and give me two duplicate copies to "ensure I wouldn't lock my keys in my car again" to which I declined because I was just done with the issue in its entirety. I had calmly explained to him I didnt want to cause anymore issues that I was going to just let it go and that I was going to be leaving a review on yelp (here we are! lucky you!). He then raised his voice again and proceeded to be extremely rude by interrupting me once again and had told me "You know what my man you're the boss go ahead and leave your review you A__hole. They sent someone out to me to help open my truck and had me wait overnight, then this morning the guy says he was there and wouldn't wait 10mins. Came in Friday to get a gmc key cut and programmed. He was busy with a guy in front of me but I wasn't in a hurry so I hung around. Once he got to me he didn't stop till the job was finished. Although programming the time of key took time he still cut me a solid $90+ discount due to me waiting a while. Good guy and made sure I was happy before leaving.
