AutoZone told me it was the catalytic converter, so I purchased the correct one and brought it in for installation. After inspection, they told me my catalytic converter was in good condition and that the issue was the three flex pipes, which I paid $450 to replace. A few days later, the same problem returned -- same noise, same check engine light. When I went back, the same shop told me now it's the catalytic converter after all, even though I was told to return the one I had already purchased based on their advice. I ended up paying for unnecessary repairs, return shipping, and now they're asking for another $350 to fix what I initially came in for. This experience was disappointing and felt misleading. As a Black woman, it's disheartening to constantly feel taken advantage of in car repair spaces. Please double-check diagnostics before agreeing to costly repairs and get a second opinion. I strongly discourage anyone from doing business with Lifetime Automotive. My experience was…read moreextremely disappointing and left me feeling that honesty and transparency were not priorities. I paid thousands of dollars for repairs with the expectation that my vehicle would be properly diagnosed and repaired. Instead, I continued to experience problems after the work was completed. Throughout the process, it seemed that new issues were identified as we went along, making it difficult to have confidence in the accuracy of the diagnosis or the recommendations I was given. I was also disappointed by the lack of detailed documentation on my invoice. For a repair bill of this size, customers should receive clear information about the brands and part numbers of the components that were installed. That level of transparency should be standard. As a woman, I left feeling that my concerns were not taken seriously and that I was treated differently than I would expect any customer to be treated. Rather than feeling informed and respected, I felt pressured to accept recommendations without receiving the level of explanation and documentation I deserved. Professional auto repair shops earn trust through honesty, transparency, and quality workmanship. Unfortunately that was not my experience with Lifetime Automotive. I WOULD NOT return, and I cannot recommend this business based on my experience.

Summary: Unknowledgeable staff, nonexistent customer service…read more(in-person, online, or over the telephone), total lack of communication between online sales and in-store fulfillment of online sales. I went online, picked out the tires that fit my car, called Sears Auto Center to ask if they had the tires in stock. Latonjia told me they were in stock. I asked if it mattered whether or not I purchased the tires online or instore, she said it didn't matter just so long as I arrived to the store by closing time. To simplify the transaction, I purchased the tires online, took the receipt to the store 15 minutes before the store closed, and was told by the same person that the order had not come through the computer, so I would not be able to pick up the tires. I then asked for the customer service number and was told by Latonjia, that they did not have a customer service number. Another employee went online and found the number for me (1 877-550-9254). I called the number and was put on hold for a half an hour and was never able to get through to a live person. Conclusion: After this experience, I sold the last of my remaining Sears stock, and deleted my Sears Online account. I will never spend another dime at Sears. Not only were you not able to complete my sale, you cost me $250 because now I have to take a day off work to come pick up these tires. If anyone is on the fence about whether or not we should have a Universal Basic Income, just come to Sears Auto Center and talk to Latonjia. This store and its employees serve no benefit to society. The world would be a better place without this store.

A friend recommended this location because she apparently got great service from them but that…read morewasn't my experience. I explained to the gentleman (service manager) that I was moving out of state & I needed my car checked out from top to bottom. Specifically the brakes, struts & belts. I also had them change the oil & wiper blades. I waited nearly two & a half hours & when I was called to pay no mechanic came out to speak to me. The cashier just told me the total for the wiper blades & oil change. I inquired about the findings on my car & she said there was nothing wrong with it. She said the mechanic would have provided her with a list if there were things wrong with it. The cashiers word wasn't good enough for me so I asked to speak with the mechanic. He casually strolled out & repeated that nothing was wrong with the car. I asked specifically about the breaks because they were squeaking but was told that they don't do brakes. The service manager never told me that when I first arrived which I found odd. At any rate, I get on the road (traveling 700+ miles) & my car starts acting up. I hear squeaking coming from the vents while the AC I running. Turns out the belts are worn and need to be replaced. But that' not what my Sears paperwork states. The tech marked down that everything was fine with it. I left Sears and headed to Pepboys to have my breaks replaced. And 4 days later I was at the repair shop again! This time it was my catalytic converter that broke. I find it strange that Sears supposedly checked the car out and then less a week later I have a $1000 repair on my hands. Years ago I purchased a bad battery from this Sears location that had to be replaced a year later. I should've learned my lesson with that experience.

The battery was UNUSED, and when he attempted to return it, he was told that they do not accept returns on parts. Our biggest issue is that this policy was never disclosed to him at the the time of purchase. We could not find it stated on the receipt, and there were no signs in the store informing customers that parts could not be return. When my husband asked to speak with the manager, the person assisting him stated that she was the manager-and she was also the person who originally sold him the battery. My husband asked a very reasonable question: Why wasn't he told at the time of purchase that a $300+ battery could not be returned? In my opinion, that is extremely poor customer service and management. When a customer is spending more than $300 on an item, a no-return policy should be clearly disclosed BEFORE the purchase is completed, especially if the item is unused. Unfortunately, our experience with corporate customer service was no better. We were extremely disappointed with how the entire situation was handled. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this LOCATION. I would suggest taking your business somewhere that clearly communicates its policies and makes customer service a priority.

UPDATE. Firestone was very responsive to my complaint. They reached out immediately and resolved…read morethe issue. Thank you @Firestone. I will add a star for their excellent response to the incident. Had this incident NOT occurred I would rate this auto center 4 stars. If they had comfortable seats, free coffee and WiFi (like the dealership) they would get 5 stars. My car rear brakes needed to be replaced and the rotors resurfaced. My dealership quoted me a price of just over 300$. I called Firestone for a comparison. On the first call I was quoted $254.84. A week later, I called to schedule the appointment and was quoted $271.54. I asked about the discrepancy, and the person stated she could not explain, but there was a 50$ coupon online. I showed up to my service appointment and the price was different. This time the excuse was that although the agent indicated in the notes that I needed the rotors cut, they did not add the additional price to the ticket. The front desk person refused to honor the quote reflected in the computer! Additionally, once I was charged for the resurfacing, the "50$ coupon" just adjusted the price to the amount I was quoted by the dealership. This means, without the "coupon," this service would have cost more than the Gerald Honda of Matteson dealership. What a crock! Long story short...Thank you Firestone for the inconsistent pricing. I will remain faithful to the Gerald Honda of Matteson dealership. Their prices are actually better and without a fake coupon. (Ha! A dealership has better pricing than an auto center...). I'm incredibly disappointed Firestone. Do Better! Get your pricing right and Honor your quotes. Oh yeah, work completed was fine. I have no frustration with the hard working auto technicians.
