The dealership handed me an estimate of work that needed to be on my 2008 Prius. The total was just under $5000 for LABOR ONLY! They gave me a scare speech on continuing to drive my car. They said that my oil gasket seal and my control arms needed immediate attention. The total for that was $1400. Well, Auto Lab fixed my O2 Sensor for $558 out the door. They also tacked up my heat shield at NO CHARGE. The dealership told me that the under part of my car had rusted and needed around $300-500 in repairs before they could tack the shield back. I truly appreciate the honest and fast work that Calvin and his team did on my car. I can't afford a new car right now so I depend on car and commute to work. My car is running now better than ever. Hadn't had work done on a vehicle in over 10 years so when I needed new brakes on my Cadillac, I thought I'd try Auto Lab again. Same great service and pricing is reasonable! They did a full diagnostic on the vehicle and found a few more items that needed attention. I declined the extra work and they weren't pushy about it at all. I actually reconsidered getting the extra work done and they shaved a little off the pricing for the package deal of front/rear brakes, engine mount, tie rod, and oil change. I was visiting Canton from out of town (Canada, actually!) and was very concerned my shocks needed replacing. I took the car in and knew I was at the mercy of the mechanic because my auto knowledge is close to nothing. Not only did they tell me that this job didn't need doing, after an indepth investigation, they called around GM dealers to try and get me a good deal for another part that needed replacing. This place is TERRIBLE!!! Worst customer service ever!!! We dropped our car off on Tuesday night. Put keys in Dropbox. The next morning they called and got all our info, gave a quote (which was double the quote they gave us the day before). We needed the car so we said ok. Hours later, they still hadn't even touched the car!! After I called upset they told me to come get my car because they couldn't get to it!!! I get it that they may have been busy but the customer service was beyond terrible! Went to another place and it was fixed within 30 mins and less then half the price that Auto lab quoted me for!! Don't go there unless you like getting ripped off, not getting your car fixed when promised and the employees being rude!!! read more

Expecting maybe a half hour wait for a simple quick oil change & filter turned into a 4 hour frustration. Ended with a very disrespectful debate with owners smart-mouth son. Oil changes normally take 30 mins to an hour ... Not 4 hours!!! Never again! read more

SNAKE mechanics here. I was in a pinch having a battery/power issue and working out of town. Got it jumped and drove straight there. Truck started fine with a new battery but not after they charged me $320 for the electrical diagnostics as well. They called to let me know the alternator had run down the battery and there was an additional $1,500 in work they recommend. I declined the service based on my frustration with the pricing and truck has run great for the 3,000 miles since. Clearly not an alternator issue, clearly an unethical mechanic issue. read more

To be completely honest I did have a few issues here. However ,the owner was very concerned over my issues and took personal care to make sure my issues were resolved in a timely manner and I was completely happy with the work. The staff is always very cordial. The facility is always very clean, you can walk out to your car without stepping in oil or tripping over anything. I came in here to redeem my coupon that I recieved for an oil change. The gentleman that helped me (can't remember his name) was very friendly and approachable. The oil change was full service (they check everything) and very quick. The facility was clean and served coffee from a keurig. Once complete, they kindly thanked me and I inquired about additional services they offered. The gentleman very patiently went over my concerns, and helped me to the best of his ability. Prices are reasonable, place is clean and quiet, and service is good. I will definitely be returning for future needs. read more

May be good place for a Chevy or Ford...Nick was friendly and nice. However they don't have tools to check what's going on or to reset warning light on Mercedes Benz. I don't think they have for BMW either. I lost so much time there and break repair ended up so much more than their estimate of $375. I paid them over $600 and still needed more work on brake. I wish they just charged exact amount of estimate. I wish I took to somewhere specializing on European automobiles. read more

Always helpful!! This is the second time I have brought my car in. Everyone is very helpful and quick. I have been very happy with the service and will continue to take my car to them for care. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in search of a car care center. Knowing nothing about how a vehicle works, the auto repair process is intimidating and scary. I am always afraid I will be over charged, or an unnecessary repair will be done. Both times my experience was with Nick. I felt he and his crew represented themselves in a friendly and professional manner, did a very thorough job, on a simple oil change. Identified my brakes would need repair soon, but were fine for now. Offered to give a quote, but did not push one on me. I feel like if something needed to be done, I could trust them to do it. And that the required work would be done at the right price. The 85 year old young lady who I shared time with in the lobby, would agree! She came in with a "charging system issue" that her vehicle notified her of. She has been coming here for years and stated to me that "my husband knew nothing about cars and always came here, they have always taken good care of me and I trust them." and she should. The experts at Auto Lab of Canton North examined her car and found no need of major repair. I witnessed the mechanic come out and give her a brief description of the problem and send her on her way. These types of transactions help build the confidence in knowing when those "big dollar" issues come up, that they are the type of people that you can trust. I was looking for a garage that had experience servicing SAAB's. I was pleased to find that Auto Lab indeed serviced my brand on their website. Two days later my left headlight went out, so I took it in. $18 and 15 minutes later I was back on the road. They didn't charge me labor because, " It was easy to access." Four days later I get a kind follow- up call asking how my experience was. I will be taking my car back here for all it's maintenance needs. What a great experience! read more

My experience: The blunt front desk guy did what he wanted instead of doing what I have asked him to do. I have asked to put two screws to keep a heat shield from rattling, I told him exactly what is wrong from the start. I have asked him nicely to please call me before doing the work. He decided that the shield needs to be ripped off instead of fixing it with 2 screws, or calling me. So, I was not happy, even if the noise problem was resolved. Personally, I prefer to have a say on how my car is repaired - this guy apparently knows better. read more

Auto Lab is one of those auto places that will over charge you when they can. My husband and I had used them a few times with out incident. We then needed a rear windshield wiper repaired because it was draining the battery. Auto Lab quoted $100 to $200 as the estimate. They said they would run a diagnostic on the electrical system which will cost $100. When it came time to repair the vehicle the estimate went to $800. They said they had to run the diagnostic a few times and was charging us $100 for each time they ran it. We, of course, were very upset. I looked up the parts online to repair the rear windshield wiper and the parts were significantly cheaper then Auto Lab was saying they were. They were trying to rip us off and overcharge us. If you don't like getting swindled, don't use this place! read more

Beware of this place.. I had a very unpleasant experience with them recently. My car broke down and I got it towed to them. it was around 5.30 PM and my sunroof was open. Since it was about to rain, I asked them to put the car inside the shed but they refused saying they dont have space. They didnt even help me cover my car. Thats not it, next day around evening they called me to tell that its Alternator issue and will cost $775. I was in no position to negotiate since it was evening and my car was dead. I agreed and they did the job next day. When I went to pickup the car, I took a test ride and noticed stereo not working. I asked the person to help check and he brushed off saying they dont know anything about it and they dont deal in stereo. I had to take it to another shop where the guy fixed it in 5 mins by replacing the fuse. Worst car repair shop seems to be in business of cheating.. read more

Auto-Lab Canton does not guarantee their work. I had my Explorer worked on for a coolant leak. Replaced water pump and labor for $420. Got home to find coolant still leaking. Auto-Lab admitted the oversight but still charged another $560 to replace a timing chain cover gasket. Something they should have done originally with the water pump already off. Franchise Shenanigans! Use your hometown mechanic, or someplace other than Auto-Lab. read more

This autolab is awesome! The guy up front was friendly and extremely helpful! I asked him if he could help me figure out what type of wiper blades fit my car and they could install them during my oil change. Took my 04 Expedition there to get a noise checked out that several other local shops couldn't figure out. The technician checked out the vehicle and immediately located the problem. The repair was done quickly and the price was more than fair. As a bonus, the shop was clean so I didn't mind waiting as the work was being done. The service was great and the car is quiet. Worst place i ever been in my life. If there is some negative points/stars i would be happy to award it. They are pathetic in terms of handling customers. They seem to make fast buck out of innocent customer. I had been there for Break service and they quoted twice the amount charged by other branded service centers. They tried all marketing skills on me to convince paying high dollars for Break service. When i asked for clarification the owner Yelled at me. I was like i made a big mistake in my life coming here for service. I just came here after reading all positive reviews. But they are hopeless, shameless. They were abusive on me.
