These guys are great! Last fall I took my 23 year old truck in and gave them a laundry list of…read morethings to work on. They did about half the list and told me the rest was OK and didn't need to be done. This week I took both my trucks in for normal servicing and got the same result. They did what needed to be done, but didn't do what didn't need to be done. The pricing was fair and I'm very pleased. They even fixed something I didn't ask them to work on. (It was unrelated to what I'd asked them to do and was minor, but it was a nuisance. They took care of it and didn't even say anything about it). I've lived all over the country and I can say that competent, honest mechanics that aren't over-priced are very difficult to find. These guys are a treasure. I highly recommend A&M Transmission!

I was referred by a trusted Monroe, MI auto repair shop to A and M Transmissions. My transmission…read morewas slipping and I called for repair. They gave me an appointment in just two days and my car was in on Friday morning. By Friday afternoon they had diagnosed my problem AND gave me a great estimate. I OK'd the work to be done and they told me it should be done by Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon I was called and told it the repair was done and I could pick it up. They EVEN gave me a discount for paying cash! I feel they did the job right and I am very HAPPY with the results. This business seems very honest. I'm thankful I was referred to them. THANK YOU A AND M TRANSMISSIONS. Now it's definitely "More grippin', Less slippin'! Will definitely use this business if needed in the future.

Absolutely the worst garage in all of southern Michigan. The receptionist (if there) is always…read morehigh and doesn't care about you at all. The owner (the tall guy) only wants your money so he can buy more weed. Doesn't care about your problems at all. He's always smoking and eating edibles which is why the work probably takes sooooooo long; and to top it all off the work only lasts like a month maybe 2 tops! When you bring your car back in they try to tell you it's not what they fixed before and charge you for it... Plus their 2 workers only care about money and fixing the actual issues with the cars and they just tell you what you want to hear. It's pathetic in all actuality. Avoid this garage at all costs or you'll be losing out on money, time and your car still won't work. Great job Jamie and giant thumbs down!!!

So my buddy Matt needed a car (he wanted to purchase) inspected. We were looking for a auto care…read moreplace that would do a relatively cursory inspection. See if anything is coming up, etc. Well we first visited a mechanic called Flat Rock Auto Care. Pretty nice people, but we were in a hurry and they couldn't get to the car for several days. So we looked up Auto Care and boom - Loving Auto Care just down the street. This time, we decided to call. "We're buying a car and wanted to know if you do inspections." "Yeah." "How much do you charge for a pre-purchase inspections like that?" "Not too much; why do you ask?" Seriously? "Well lots of places charge different prices for that. Can you get to it today if we came now?" "Eh... Sure. Come on down." The funniest part is that my friend rolled with it and said, "Yeah. Let's give it a shot." So we entered in the wrong way. There is a really rocky driveway. And when I say driveway, it's like the Monster Truck rally course in the Himalayas - not suitable for 4 door car. But we figure we entered through a service area and pulled in trying to avoid a maneuvering tow truck. The first thing I noticed when we entered was the dilapidated, run-down "lobby". Clutter everywhere. Two couches that have seen things that can never be unseen. A ripped and torn map of the Detroit area from the 80's, a miter saw on the ground, and a jar of snack-sized peanut packets for the customers, but believe it or not, we just took it stride because it's almost par for a stereotypical weird mechanic shop. Matt says to me, "Dude. There are chickens in the back." I thought he was being metaphorical because no one would come and talk to us. But no. Seriously. Chickens walking around this shop. You could hear them cackling around the shop. Weird and hilarious. This grizzly, eager man comes in and almost yells to Matt, "Give me your keys!" Matt asked, "How long is this going to take and how much will this be?" But the man insisted "I don't know. He told me to get the keys and take it back." "Who did?" "Just give me your keys," and... Matt just kind of let it happen and I winced a little bit when he reluctantly put them in the grizzly porter's hardened, blackened hands. He didn't know what to do. And as the car disappeared, Matt kept asking other people in the shop for some clarification on time and cost. "Can I speak to the mechanic?" It felt like that moment when someone is asking for the chef. You have to ask multiple people before he'll show his face. Finally he came over and asked, "What do you want?" Matt reiterated what he had been asking: How much and how long? No one seemed to know. Finally after several questions, the mechanic replied, "Eh. 5 minutes? 6 minutes? 15-20 minutes? Probably... Twenty-five bucks." It felt like we were on a southern version of The Price is Right. Matt asked what kind of inspection that would entail. Eventually, the mechanic reeled off some typical mechanical jargon, but Matt wasn't being assuaged. Now as the car is parked in the back I look at Matt who is wide-eyed, still staring at the chickens and the people in the shop and he is rudely asked by the same porter, "Wait. So you want to get the car inspected?" I can only assume that this was his last straw. These people had no clue what they were doing, and Matt didn't feel comfortable being yelled at. "I'm so sorry. No. We're going elsewhere. Can I have the car back?" "Yeah, sure." It was such a bizarre experience I couldn't help but burst into laughter as we left. "We're going to Firestone." I had to swallow my opinion on the matter, but agreed even Firestone would be way better than this place. I would probably not recommend this place. Everything about it seems... Off. It's times like these where I wish I had a camera crew following me. It would make for some very interesting television. Also, as were leaving the [owner?] stopped us and flagged us and asked, "Did you get your car inspected?" "Uh, no." "Okay." The insinuation is that we got the car inspected within the 5 minutes we were there. Bizarre. Also I'm giving this 2 stars because the chickens made me laugh.
