Can't say enough good things about these guys; 5 stars only because we can't give more than 5…read more Here's my take on the auto repair business; there's 3 key things, two of which are very hard for the layperson to access. 1-Diagnosing the problem. 2-Fixing the problem. 3-Being honest about what needs done. 1-Jeff has many years experience and is excellent at diagnosing the problem. Obviously some things are easier than others; e.g., the brakes grind, you need brake pads; other noises or symptoms can be much harder to figure out. He's a master at figuring it out and won't give up till he has. 2-Fixing it. This is what every professional shop can do. 3-Honesty. This is the most important one - yet the hardest one for the layperson to assess. e.g., Did your brake job really need rotors too or would just pads have been enough. Did you really need that new radiator or was it just a hose that was leaking? Did you really need all the tie rods and ball joints and suspension links replaced or would've ball joints been enough? ...etc, etc. Sooner or later there will be times where a less-than-honest shop can oversell a repair for extra labor and parts dollars. And the layperson will never know. This is where the trust comes in. I am absolutely convinced Jeff is as honest and straight a shooter as there is in the car business. He'll tell you what your car needs and not oversell repairs you don't need.

My wife emailed this shop on Facebook and asked if we could bring in our 1960s Chrysler for ball…read morejoints & bushings (see the screenshot of her email and their response above in the photo gallery).  Someone emailed back saying it would be no problem, but we'd have to wait until late September/early October and to call for appointment.  We were fine with that timeline so I called Oval and a woman answered the phone.  She became very put out and testy when I said we were calling to make appointment for late September/early October.  She said "we're booked solid right now.  It's a small shop.  I have 4 cars in here right now.  Even the back lot is full. I can't fit anymore cars in today."  I reminded her I was not asking for an appointment TODAY but 6 weeks from now. She sighed loudly in exasperation and I could hear her flipping the pages on her book.  She got even more annoyed.  "We have a lot of cars scheduled.  We even have some old ones coming in.  I don't know.  I just don't know about this."  It was clear she was not going to give us an appointment so I said "If you don't want to take the car, just say so."  She said "It's not that, we'll take the car.  I just don't know when.  I have cars coming this month, I have cars coming in September. Some of them may take more time than others.  What's wrong with it?"  I reminded her it was ball joints and bushings.  She sighed loudly again to let me know how exasperated she was.  "Does it run good?  Did somebody tell you it was ball joints or are you just guessing?"  I said we could hear the clunking and yes the car runs fine.  "I will have to talk to him about this," she said, more annoyed than ever.  "I will have to call you back tomorrow and let you know if we can even take the car." NASTY! At this point it was clear whoever told us on Facebook we could bring it in was NOT this angry, surly woman.  In 30 years of taking cars to shops, I have never had one refuse to give an appointment, even when you're flexible on time and willing to wait months.  It was also obvious that she was going to refuse to take the car EVER and was brushing us off. We NEVER got a call back from the nasty woman and that was fine. Lady, if you hate your job and your customers THAT much, it's time to look for work elsewhere. So make the world a better place and give your job to someone who knows how to do it.

Went there to get an alignment on my keep wrangler and also needed to get the steering wheel…read morestraightened after I installed a new steering gear. Alignment was ok, but the steering was still off. Wish they would've told me that they're especially good with Jeeps. They also didn't have the expertise to repair an oil pan gasket. I suppose they're ok for basic stuff like oil changes, tune ups and basic bolt on suspension work.
