They just had a hard time with this tire. When he called this place, the man told him $220, then would call back and change the price and say $ 300, and he would have to get corrected by being told you just told me $220. Then the man would say, "Oh yeah, right, $220. Mind you, this is only for 1 tire. I think that's way too much for 1 tire, but anyways, the car ended up being in the shop for 1 day (to change a brake for one tire). The man called in the morning and said, "These are the wrong brakes and rotors, so I used mine and changed the other one in the front as well, so it's gonna be $450 now." Auto Zone helped find the correct brakes and rotors for the car and even so NOBODY TOLD YOU TO DO THAT. Soon as the car is being driven back home, it starts to smoke. Now the coolant is empty (never ever had this broken before), so had to go to the gas station to get something for it, poured some into the car, and drove a little down, and it's smoking again and the coolant back empty, so it's a leak. I called the man multiple times once the car started smoking and he's denying everything.

I looked online for a mechanic near me and found Kirk's Auto. I explained my situation to the gentleman at the front desk. I assumed that this was Kirk. He said he could take a look at it in about five minutes. I appreciated this because time is money when I'm driving for Uber. Kirk solved the problem by getting some zip ties and securing the loose metal that was hanging from the bottom of my car. This took him about five minutes to complete, and he didn't even charge me. Kirk turned an awful experience into a good one. I will definitely be coming here for my car needs in the future.

I noticed the stone shield was missing most of the bolts that hold it on, so it was dragging on the ground. I decided to change my destination from Kroger into the Toyota dealership, discovering en route that I was dragging something on the road. After hearing the engine I was told at the dealership that someone had stolen my catalytic converters. He advised a muffler shop and Midas in particular. Since I had had a muffler done in 2018 and was pleased with the result, I drove to the Novi store. Service rep Bill understood the urgency of the situation, He assigned it to Dean who began his analysis. My exhaust pipe had been cut near the engine and part of the tail pipe was dragging. Bill ordered the needed parts and they were soon delivered. I drove to the police station around 4:30 and reported the crime in a very quiet and smooth running old Prius. The bill was substantial but still less than half what the dealer (who recommended a muffler shop, remember) would have charged. And after contacting my insurance company my comprehensive coverage will pay for the repair in total, even the ordinary $500 deductible. That will leave me more money to spend once I finally make it to Kroger. Yesterday started out with a vandalized car and ended with a quiet car that runs reliably, thanks in large part to this Midas shop.
