I have been taking my cars to Joe and kirks for a number of years and always appreciated their service and work, but never more than today. My sons 1990 vehicle broke a belt on the way to school and his vehicle stalled out. We took it to a repair shop near his school, a block away, for an estimate. I was told that the belt was broken and the power steering pump needed to be replaced because it locked up. I was quoted a price of $500.00. I told the repair shop to fix it since it was close to the school and didn't want it towed to Wyandotte to pay the extra expense.
I went home and thought about it, and decided to get a second opinion. I called and spoke to Kirk. Kirk quoted me a price for the repair $200.00 less, so I went back and had the vehicle towed to Joe and Kirk's. Kirk calls me back later and says hey, it was only a belt. The battery charges, the pumps working fine, and its running well. There are no fluid leaks, the power steering is fine. I'll put the keys under the mat and you can pay me when you get a chance for the tow and the belt.
There's an old saying that honesty is the best policy, and no one is more honest than these guys. Not only are they great mechanics but they are even better people. They are the gold standard, an no I'm not related to either of them. I truly saw both ends of the spectrum today, I saw the slime who tried to rip me for $500.00, and then I saw Joe and Kirk's, the honest and best. Thank you gentlemen!!
