They refused to take my credit card after my son lost his temper, they kicked us out of the office. When we came back the next day, they charged us 3 days of storage after having the car for under 36 hours. If your car gets there at 11.59pm, they charge you for that calendar day. They are rude and insulting on the phone because they know they have you by the short hairs. If you are in an accident, DO NOT let the police call you a tow because they will call this grifter company. Call AAA or anyone else if you can. Also, this operation is owned by the same people who own "lifesaver tow" in S.Cruz so do not use them either. They have a contract with the local police who should be ashamed of themselves for elevating these thieves into a position of power over people who are already dealing with a bad situation. read more

Update: still have not received invoice for my $1k bill for my overnight unauthorized stay. 5 days late I should charge them $150/day. If you are on Hwy 9 and are unlucky enough to need a tow, this company will do whatever it can to lie to you, to delay you, and relish in your dismay. Because they will NOT tell you: -You MUST be present and show ID -you MUST call and confirm an appointment to pick up your belongings. Do not assume they confirmed it, triple check as they will deny anything to delay you -If you are 1 second past 24 hours sucks to suck that's $150 $150 flat fee for a motorcycle, car, hell there was even a bicycle I'm sure they were charging $150 per day Dishonest ladies behind the phone. Government contract so they really don't give a damn. Lot is a complete mess expect your vehicle to be damaged. Take photos of your vehicle before they touch it because they keep minimal and shoddy records which can change to suit their story. Document document document. Then run as far as possible. Our car was towed because, despite the registration being paid, we haven't received the tags, all of which can be verified by the DMV website. So, a $265 ticket to be disputed. Thanks Meter Maid Jessica Goode! Enter Autocare "Lifesaver" Towing, with it's lucrative and exclusive partnership with the Santa Cruz Police Department. Our gripe with "Lifesaver" is this: They're beyond rude on the phone. They have rules in place that make it extremely difficult to release your car: "Lifesaver" can't release the car to anyone but the registered owner (their own rule; this is not the law). In our case the registered owner is out of town. So "Lifesaver" here says, rudely, we will send you an Absentee Authorization that the registered owner must get notarized. Oh, and it's $150/night for every day you don't pick it up. Oh, and YOU MUST MAIL THE NOTARIZED FORM VIA SNAIL MAIL BEFORE WE WILL ALLOW A DIFFERENT PERSON TO PICK UP THE CAR. Oh, and we will wait until the end of the day to send you the form to be notarized so that's another $150 for us. Also, $150/night for the days it takes for the mail to get to us and for us to bother opening it. "Lifesaver" doesn't have a fax machine. "Lifesaver" doesn't use e-signatures. One can only conclude that "Lifesaver" finds snail mail to be far more lucrative. Thanks "Lifesaver." You're super duper! "Lifesaver" will hold on to your car with every little trick in the book, and on Day 3, they begin preparing Lien paperwork, which will add another $250, just in case you don't pick up the car and pay their usury within 30 days. Here, they depart from their normally slo-mo, old-timey snail mail ways, and get right to it. Incidentally, the owner, operating in Watsonville and Santa Cruz, California, is Kelvin Ramer. He serves as the President of KJRB Inc., the parent company of Auto Care Lifesaver Towing . His wife, Janette Ramer, is the Chief Financial Officer of the company. If they're rich, and I suspect they are, they've gotten there by grifting every dime they can out of honest hardworking people. I'm putting this here because when I asked the person I spoke to at "Lifesaver," who owned the company, his response was, "He doesn't like us to give out that information." Yeah, I'll bet he doesn't. Additionally, Kelvin Ramer is known in the monster truck community as a driver and sponsor. Auto Care Towing sponsors the Living the Dream Race Team trucks . We will be filing a consumer complaint with the Santa Cruz District Attorney as anyone else reading this who's had similar issues should. This is, as I said, a shameful business run by grifters. After a three hour wait for AAA to call to say they couldn't help me get the service I required I was told I could leave the car and they could work it out in the morning. i had backed up and high centered my car on the edge of the tall shoulder at the edge of the pavement, perpendicular to, and half in the road. In explaining that was unacceptable, I was told I could find my own service to be reimbursed. I called four different companies and finally reached a human at Auto Care Towing who could help. They understood what my predicament was, the truck arrived within 5 minutes of when they said it would and had my car safely back on the road within 20 minutes of arrival-easy peasy! This company was my real lifesaver! We had to move a single wide mobile home on a windy mountain road (Upper Alba rd in Ben Lomond, CA). I called around 20 companies and they all said no beciase the road was so tricky. I almost gave up, but they agreed to move the house. They did an amazing job! They drove through tons of sharp turns on a super narrow road. Sometimes it was only 2 inches on both sides to drive through. Watching these guys working was like watching a TV show - they were doing impossible things possible without a single scratch. Thank you do much for your professionalism! I have hired this towing company for two jobs and both times were excellent experiences! The first: they delivered our shed. When they got it on our lot, they leveled it until we were happy with the work. It took them a loooong time to deliver due to the distance and then the drop off. Then they took time to make sure see we're stoked about the landing. Then the guy was super sweet and said something like, "ok, I want to warm you there may be a bit of a sticker shock in the price" for a totally reasonable amount for the day's work!! Fast forward about 15 months. We needed to move a friend's car from our place to another place. We called them and not only did they offer the best rate, but they also arrived on location super quickly!! Their work was excellent and professional and easy on us. Then they accidentally double charged my card and immediately caught the glitch, sent an email saying they were refunding the charge (all viewable on my ebank app), and followed through with a phone call. AAA wasn't available to tow our car. CHP called Auto Care. The two two truck drivers were nice too nice! I asked to get out truck towed to San Jose. Ironic that there was no service on HWY 9 . The tow truck driver mentioned of I tow the truck to San Jose AAA won't cover the tow! If I tow the truck to their lot in Felton insurance will cover it. He stepped away to his truck "made a call " to Clark that our insurance would cover the tow to Felton, he said yes. I said ok. Long story short/ they didn't want to tow it to San Jose!! I had to pay $125 for a Peking fee for their lot! They told me that the conversation that me and the tow truck driver had never happened. This is rude untruthful company and they screw people over! I have a 3 month old baby my husband went to the hospital. We then had to wait hours to get the car towed from Felton to San Jose. Avoid this company at all cost!
