The first person we contacted wanted payment up front and sent all the wrong vibes. I then contacted Champion, and Kathy immediately put my mind at ease. I could tell she was confident about the project and let me know how long they had been in business which is quite impressive. So the move day comes and Tony shows up right on time. Also had an air of confidence about him. He quickly surveyed the job site and proceeded to set up. The island arrived just as he was finishing up and he and the bbq team proceeded to rig the island. Within minutes the island was in the air, up and over a large canary palm tree and down in to my courtyard. He patiently let us spend some time positioning it and then set it down. He even craned out the very heavy pallets needed for the job. A+++

As with all plans, there were some bumps, all of which the onsite crew handled quickly with professionalism and in a calm manner. Will use again when my needs arise and will also recommend.

We only tried working with them because the swim spa company recommended WCC, but they failed to honor their quote, increasing the quoted price by an astronomical amount at the last minute, which required us to scramble for other crane service options; turned out to be a blessing in disguise since we found Ad-Lite cranes in the process, whose service and execution was flawless. South Bay Crane and Rigging aka Arborlift Inc was subcontracted by La Selva Tree Care for a job…read morethat involved the removal of a large redwood tree next to the house a couple years ago. My main concern was if the weight of the crane would cause damage to the concrete driveway. After numerous attempts to contact the owner Jose of South Bay Crane I finally got ahold of him and he assured me the 6x6 wood pads provide enough protection to prevent damage. Unfortunately his crane operator placed one of the legs of the crane where the concrete meets the dirt which caused the driveway to crack. After the job was complete I could tell someone put dirt on the cracks to hide the damage (pic 1 shows cracks and pic 2 shows rear leg of crane improperly placed where cement meets the dirt). I would definitely look into hiring someone else if you want the job done correctly. This company might be cheaper than others but the quality of performance is not worth it after causing damage.

When I explained the issue to him about how it seemed a little strange to have this MAJOR issue with the forklift surface the day after they had their hands on it, he said, "Just bad luck I guess."
