So so so disappointed with my trip here for lunch this afternoon. Every time my husband & I come back home to Michigan for a visit we have to hit up some great Indian restaurants in Canton. Today's meal was a total disaster. When we were sat there was only 1 other table of guests. We waited over 5 minutes for water and didn't get it until we waived down 1 of the 2 servers. Food itself was good, but the service was just awful. We asked multiple times for a box for leftovers. Asked multiple times for more water. The 2 young servers were just wandering around lost. I noticed that another table was sat for a long time without water as well and it wasn't until a manager or someone pointed them out to the waitstaff. Probably won't return on our next trip to Plymouth/Canton because even though the food is tasty the service was just appalling. read more

The food is OUT OF THIS WORLD! But when we ordered on the phone they gave us one price then when we got there to get the food they tacked on another $25 for a tip!! I always tip! But $25??? I live in Ferndale and the Indian restaurants that are within my city are just not good at all. Being Indian and having a mom who is an amazing chef also makes me critical. That being said, we were in the Livonia area and I had my wife look up a good Indian restaurant. We were directed to this location. Some of the highlights I saw on other reviews were great service, reasonable prices, and the most tender chicken you will ever have. Boy were they beyond right. This place is my favorite Indian restaurant in Michigan hands down. We had the best experience while dining in. I brought my 2 children (both babies) and my wife. We were pretty much the only people in the shop. We met the owner, she goes by Poly - she was super nice and treated us to a Mango Lassi. We liked the food so much we ordered additional orders to go so we can eat it the next day. I highly recommend this Authentikka for their great food, value and service. I don't think I'll be coming back to Authentikka because they no longer serve pakoras, my absolute favorite. Service was also not the best this time. The music was really loud so I couldn't hear the server and he was making no effort to speak up when I asked him to repeat what he said because I didn't catch it. Another worker kept checking in on us which was nice, but it became persistent because he kept coming to offer us drinks such as a shot of vodka and mango lassi. We gave the drink menu back for a reason and he kept insisting. The bathroom was also disgusting. The sink was clogged with toilet paper the rest of the bathroom was really dirty. read more

By far this is the most most most delicious Indian food I have eaten in Michigan. As an Indian I am super critical about Indian food outside my house. But this place just own my heart. This restaurant is new. Opened in June 2019. They are huge inside. The space is really big. They have plenty of free parking. The service is nice. I went there to have lunch buffet on a Saturday. Their choices of dishes surprised me. I have never eaten many of the dishes in a buffet specially in USA. The variety was a catch for me for sure. Each and every dish was delicious. I am a hardcore non vegetarian but their veg dishes were so good that I don't mind eating vegetarian dishes there. The goat rogan josh was the best. Not that other items were not best, they all were. But with mutton the thing is different because most restaurants can't make it right. Either they were very chewy or has a lot of bones, or smells. But this one was perfect. The price you pay for the big delicious menu is only $13.99 which is so modest in my opinion. They do have clean bathrooms and a nice bar area. The most interesting thing is they have a beautiful big space adjoining their restaurant as a banquet hall. I will be having a family function there soon and I can't wait to share my experience about that here with you all. The management is super nice and efficient. I am so thrilled to finally have an Indian restaurant with banquet hall and where I love the food. I am so in love with them. Please try this place. I bet you won't regret. read more

Spices and heat at their best! The most delicious and hot Indian food I've had in Canton. Not like other places which ave over buttterd and mild gravy. They are on the very hot side of scale but but full favour of well cooked gravy I want to know the recipie of! One more Indian restaurant makes really hot food in Farmington but they put so much powdered masala that it burns my stomach later. These guys are well cooked and balanced . Try if you like hot and "Authentic" Indian food. read more

Did take out from this restaurant. The cashier was indifferent. Neither nice nor was he bad humored. I ordered Rogan Josht, Mysore Dosa and Rasam soup. The Rasam blew my mind. The Rogan Josht was ok. The Dosa was very disappointing because the wrapped up the Dosa pancake in tin foil. This caused the pancake to be a lifeless rag. Very disappointing. I expect a crisply pancake. Went early evening on a Friday and it was relatively empty. The space is nice, it's a pretty large restaurant. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and lamb roganjosh at medium spice, neither was particularly spicy. The lamb was definitely better than the chicken, which had a slightly rubbery texture. The gravies for the dishes were really good, and I appreciate the look of the metal bowls they serve them in. We also got an order of garlic naan and that was absolutely delicious. After shopping at Ikea just good time to lunch so decide to come to here. Entrance is kind small but inside is big.fee table are open so we don't have wait time. Food here is all good specially mutton biriyani. Some one got take out box and she put only mutton biriyani !!but I agree it was so good!! Little Disappoint is little dirty around buffet area. They always bring food so never empty but with out wipe around it will be mess!! So please consider wipe the around. Waiter and another employee were solely concerned with watching cricket match on TV. Food came out one guest at a time for our three top with the last dish arriving more than 15 mins after the others. Curry dish came without rice (had to order a la carte) and naan arrived last--more than 30 mins after initial plate of food arrived. Total lunch service took 1:15. Decided to try out Authentikka tonight for family dinner. Ordered Pathani Gosht, tandoori chicken, vada sambar which came with the chutneys, plain and Mysore masala dosas, butter naan and onion kulcha and chicken chettinad (medium spiced was perfect for my non-andhra Indian palate). Everything was delicious! Except for me wishing for the vadas to be a tad bit crispier, we were all extremely pleased with our meal. Brought ALL of the leftovers back home with us and can't wait to eat it tomorrow. Glad that we ordered extra! Yummm! The service was very quick even with the most tables full, and we found the staff to be very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly! We had a sub par experience one time but the owner of the restaurant was extremely accommodating and offered to make things right. The next time we went in we tried the Pani Puri, Dahi Puri, Baingan, hariyali chicken, dal makhani, okra masala with roti and paneer kulcha. The food and service both were awesome. After dropping a review comment on yelp, these guys take it seriously... I had faced a concern on of the visit, and dropped a comment. The owner of authentikka (Bharat) reached out personally to me and apologised about it . Not only that he got the issue fixed too... am Telling Authentikka means business and they don't wanna leave any food lover disappointed. Omg the chicken Vindaloo was perfect! I ordered it spice which was not as spicey as I would expect but it was my first time here and I expect they take it easy on people who might not be familiar with the dish. I also had the garlic Naan which was also perfectly prepares. (No burnt edges) atmosphere is very relaxed and the servers are quick and courteous checking back see if I liked the dish and said if it wasn't good they would give me something else. We tried this restaurant twice after they opened recently. The buffet on the weekends are really good. Surprised and happy to see crab roast on the buffet.. everything was really good. On the other night, we tried the chicken appetizers, pathan ka ghost, chicken biryani and bengali fish...every dish was mouth watering... personally my favorite was the pathan ka ghost (lamb dry roast). I've tried many an Indian restaurant and by far the tikka masala from this place is the best I've had. A lot of tikka masalas I've had have been delicious but lack the depth of flavor that this one has. The other dishes as well are phenomenal , and the mango lassi is delicious. If I had a choice between going out of my way to drive here over somewhere closer I would pick here hands down. You just can't go wrong with good quality food . All I can say is one word .... cilantro. I went with my best frenn and every appetizer and entree was covered in cilantro. The wait staff was somewhere between nonexistent to know sense of urgency. Even the diet Coke's tasted funny like they were washed in the cilantro. I had one of the noodle dishes and asked for hot. Good food but dreadful service. We came to eat on a Saturday evening. It took 40 minutes and several reminders for our order to be taken. My son's main dish came out with the appetisers. Entrees took another 40 minutes to arrive and when they did the rice was cold and my dish had clearly been sitting for a while. We had to keep asking for water refills. Asking and waiting for the bill was another 20 minutes before we stood up and paid directly at the cash register. The restaurant has an event space connected to the main restaurant area. On the evening we visited there was a big / loud event going on. Clearly the kitchen and wait staff could not cope with waiting tables and the special event. Was here 2 nights ago for dinner and am in town for a business trip. It was a little in the evening so I was careful to check their closing time before heading over so I wasn't arriving right before they closed. They closed at 10 and I arrived just before 9. It was clear they were short staffed right away as many are right now as things are still spinning back up after Covid. I am totally ok with slower service and not being greeted within the first 30 seconds after I enter the restaurant. When the only waitress/hostess working the dining area did come over to seat me she was very short and it felt like an imposition for her to have to take me to a table (there was only about 4 tables occupied in the entire place at that time). After I sat down she came back after about 7 minutes to bring a glass of water and my paper placemat and utensils and did not say or ask 1 thing at the time. She came back another 5 or minutes later to take my order and again was very short and not helpful at all when I asked for some addition details about the "veg salad" (that was the complete description from the menu). I ordered the Tandoori Chicken and I will say that it was delivered fairly quickly, was sizzling hot on a cast iron platter when it got to the table. The chicken was tender and flavorful also. Aside from the bed of onions and peppers that were mostly for presentation then part of the meal the Tandoori Chicken did not come with any side items so I can only review the chicken. The "veg salad" that I did order anyway ended up being just sliced red onions, a couple lime wedges and classic Indian pepper sauce. The pepper sauce was also tasty. I think service is equally as important as food quality so I gave 2 stars for the food and 1 for the environment being clean. read more
