These guys are criminal with what they are charging. for a $300 opener they are selling it for $1,065, plus you need to pay their installation and shop fees on top of that. a 355% markup is insane. Had an issue with our garage door not shutting or opening all the way. Called A-Authentic garage door service to come out and take a look. They charge $65.00 to show up, but would wave cost if they provided service. After looking at the door the came up with a proposal of $2,099.00, which had them replacing everything, but the door itself and the tracks. I asked if it could be repaired and the tech said it was so old he couldn't even touch the motor and the rollers was so worn they had to be replaced. Told them I wanted a second opinion and called Advanced Garage Door, which came out within a couple of hours. They took a look and said for no more than $200.00 they could fix and have it back up and running. I agreed and they ended up changing one small part in motor gear, adjusting the motor tightness, and lubricated all components and it was up and running like new. Total cost was $170.00 and job was finished in an hour. Bottom line A-Authentic is not worth the call or time. Not sure they even provide service, all they tried to do was sell up. This is the problem with Yelp ratings, most of the time the top companies just write there own reviews or have friends do it! Their website leads you to believe they repair all makes and models and their trucks are well stocked. However after scheduling an appointment for a possible repair and agreeing to a $65 trip change the technician arrived on time the next day. After asking me how old the opener was he told me it probably didn't work because of age. I asked him if he was going to try to fix it and I was told that they didn't have parts for a Genie. My only option was to purchase a new lift master. The price quoted for the least expensive option was over a thousand dollars. I'm sure lift mast is a high quality opener and this company would have provided high quality installation but I was not willing to pay that much for a small one car garage. I paid the $65 for the trip change only because I agreed to pay it and blamed myself for not asking enough questions before I scheduled. I called in this morning to schedule a tune-up for a coupon I had for $99 and the lady said the price was $150, so I advised her I had a coupon for $99 and she said she could not honor it. So I looked at the coupon to notice as you will see in the picture there is no Exp Date or limited quantity or anything and asked why it could not be honored, she put me on hold and another lady came on very direct and pretty much explained the same thing. She said it would be a $65 fee to come out, which would be offset if they did any work. I had called one other garage repair company before this and they quoted me $69 to come out the next day, so I felt okay about the $65 same-day fee. 10 minutes later the technician, Dane, called and texted to let me know he was finishing up a job and would be over by 7p. He was right on time. He was professional and clearly communicated what was wrong with my door (the spring had broken but the bearings had been rubbing together and were not in good shape). He ended up doing a full rebuild (components were 9 years old which apparently they go bad every 5-10 years). Overall, a great experience. The technician then proceeds to tell me that I need a whole new garage door and starts pointing out several things that were disasterously wrong with my garage door. I gave a downpayment for the garage door and made arrangements for the install. I called my neighbor to come look at my garage door and he did not see anything wrong with it. I called another garage door repair person who told me not only did I not need a garage door but they were overcharging me by $2,000. It has been almost 3 weeks since I cancelled the order and while they acknowledge that I made the cancellation in the appropriate time they have still not refund my money and refuse to return my phone calls. Right away the guy said the company who made my garage door went under and they cannot find any more parts and I'd better change the whole door. I said no way. The door itself looks OK (this is an insulated door) and I do not want to have to paint it (HOA). He started to give me the long list of everything that needed to be replaced and gave me an estimate for about $2200. He went on and on about all the issues my door can have from being a brand that does not exist anymore. Scare tactic from a shady salesman. The A-Authentic "tech" was a sales rep, as per the written quote I received later. I won't share his name but one thing is sure... I won't call this company again. The value for service was a little pricy $326; included trip charge, resetting the door (came off the track) and spray lube. I should have called another vendor. I needed a little help retacking weather/bug strips that needed to be pulled off initially because of the door coming off the track and warping them (I removed them myself). The tech wanted $160. It was a very hard job for 1 person to do since we have 3 garage doors and they are slightly over size. The reason for the 4 stars is they charged us a 3% credit card fee when I paid by check. I brought this to their attention as soon as I saw the receipt and asked them to refund this to me. I was told I would have to speak to a manager. ??? Then I was told one would call me and I was also told that I would get my refund. This was on July 21, 2022. I did not get a call. I called again on Aug 3rd and was told a manager would call me the next day. No one did. I don't understand why it is so difficult to refund a fee that I shouldn't have been charged. I don't understand why the manager has to call me, but won't. Everything was fine about the installation and the doors except this stupid $400 fee. Why ruin your rating over $400. read more

I asked them if I could send them a few pictures of the broken cable over the phone but she said NO, they had to come out to the property and they charge $65 fee to come out. Rachel, the lady on phone was nice and professional. But by not just taking a quick look at the pix (which would allow easy diagnosis by phone) they get you to invest $65 ("sunk costs") which means that you more than likely have to go with them once they come out otherwise you're out the $65. Over the weekend our garage spring broke, I was avoiding calling to get it fixed because I didn't want the typical "We'll be there between 8am and midnight" window. They advertise you can cancel the plan any time good luck all you get is a run around and that only Heather can handle, she does not handle it. Be cautious since a number of employees have left the company. I had just purchased the house and the springs had been replaced two weeks prior so I knew they were good.
