They were not sure how long it would be for the part to get there, so Shane and I decided to go across the street for breakfast, and to just take up some time. Now, I understand that they can't just waste their time chasing codes for free, but yes that was a little steep. I paid it because I needed my car repaired, and I really do like them. That being said, they now charge $253 to diagnose a check engine light. I just cannot afford to pay $250 simply to walk in the door before the repair pricing even begins, so I have had no choice but to take my car repair business elsewhere. They do a fantastic job, the techs are wonderful, the repairs have been good, but they have priced me out of being able to take my car to them. I do recommend them if you can afford them because they do good work. Just be prepared for the price.

They said I'd need all new tires and tried selling me on new Firestone tires that were not comparable to the ones I have. Went across the street to Jensen and got it repaired in 15 minutes. Decided to give it another shot. Scheduled an oil change. Got there early to drop car off and have it done before I left for work 3 hours later. They said it would take well longer than 2 hours for an oil change. Never had issues with other firestones. This location seems like the odd ball. Will not return

Took my BMW M3 to Sports Car Garage (SCG) for an oil change about two months after I bought it. I…read morecalled and spoke with John who advised they had the correct Castrol TWS 10W60 oil in stock as well as the OEM BMW filter, the oil change would run about $110, and they could get my car in the next day. I also said I noticed something loose in the front end, which I suspected to be a tie rod. John said they'd take a look at this for me while they had the car up on a lift. Great! Dropped my car off the following morning. I got a call around noon saying my car was done, and that I could pick it up after work. I asked about the loose feeling in the front end, John said they looked around and put a pry bar on everything and tried to replicate the problem, but couldn't. He suggested it was something in my aftermarket suspension. Fair enough. He told me I could come pick my car up after work. I go to pick my car up, and John nonchalantly hands me a bill for $260. I was charged one hour of shop labor for him troubleshooting the front end of my car and not finding anything. This irked me, but I told myself it was a fair price to pay to know nothing was loose in the front end of my car. Well, I was incorrect. Driving home, the loose feeling is present even more noticeably than before. Having done a little bit of work on cars before, I am nearly certain this is a tie rod, or something else in my steering, not something in my coilovers as John suggested. Also, my new (to me) M3 absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke. The previous owner of the car did not smoke, and I do not smoke, but John had a cigarette hanging out of his mouth both times I was at the shop. I guess I thought he'd put it down while working on a customer's car, but again, I was incorrect. Fast forward about three months, and my car is due for Inspection 1. As I was not really thrilled with SCG, I took my car to European Auto Tech in Lincoln, NE, a very highly recommended BMW shop. After the inspection and oil change were done, they called me to tell me that not one, but BOTH of my inner tie rods were worn and would need replacing. They also told me that the head of my drain plug for my oil pan was stripped, and they had to replace it. They opined that this was something that happened at the time of my last oil change. I told them I had the car at Sports Car Garage and they told me the tie rods were fine just a few months and about 1,500 miles ago (I don't drive the car daily), so I was surprised. They said they were not sure how the tie rods could be missed, as it was a pretty prevalent issue. While my experience with SCG was not wholly negative, there are better options for anyone with a BMW in the Omaha and Lincoln area. I would likely not recommend this shop to a friend, and I will not take my car here going forward. I did not appreciate being charged an hour of labor only for him to misdiagnose the tie rods, strip my drain plug, and stink up my car. The shop is also very dark and dirty.
