These people are a like finding a treasure. They are professional, experienced and just down to earth nice. The came to the house and picked up the drape, bedspread and valances and when finished brought them back even hung the valances. One drape came back white and so pristine I thought it was a soft green. It's like having a new window covering. I highly recommend this company. read more

Cleaning was good; pleats not really set in well, but clean and presentable. HOWEVER, the tech who came out promised to fuse the tear in my custom drapes. When they delivered the drapes, there was a slap dash piece of tape on the back of the material that didn't even go the length of the tear. They applied nothing to the lining - just left the tear hanging. When I showed it to the tech, he said "eh - safety pin!" When I asked if he deducted the cost of the fusing, he said he hadn't charged for it in the first place, so I guess in this case, I got what I paid for. read more

Carol and K.C. are easy and pleasant to work with and they have enough experience to say confidently what they can and cannot clean. 1. AREA RUGS: When I asked for a place that cleans vintage persian rugs, she suggested Austin Specialty Cleaners. They did a great job on about 20 very old and beautiful ($) rugs and they were honest about the one rug that had stains they knew that they could not remove. 2. LARGE BEDSPREAD: I recently needed a large bedspread cleaned and knew it would be too much for a washing machine. I priced it at a dry cleaning place and then my mom suggested Austin Specialty as they clean large soft goods... they were half of the price of a dry cleaner, and from what i see, they did an excellent job. 3. ON SITE CLEANING: Free in-home estimates and in-home cleaning for carpets, upholstery, blinds, tile and stone. 4. LEATHER: I didn't ask about this one, but if they do it, I am sure they do it well. Not sure I would relish the thought as much as they do of being Austin's Pee Specialists, but someone has to step forward and be good at removing unwanted stains and odors. read more

From start to finish, this place did us a great service. From the time I picked up the phone to final invoice time, I was extremely impressed with their service, procedure, and overall professionalism. I won't be going to the other team again or that steem cleaner who both seem to have big advertising budgets, but lose me when a guy who has been cleaning carpets for a week steps across the threshhold. I will never again experience that sinking feeling that there is not a good steam cleaning service in this town. I called to ask them what they could do for my lady so that she could leave a rental property and move into the house that we painstakingly designed to fit both our lifestyles. It was on my shoulders to make a good decision regarding how that chapter in our life would end and we could get to the huge task ahead of setting up a life together in a new home. I needed to bring that chapter to a close on a good sentiment. I made an appointment with their sales guy who came to look at the place. He told me there were no guarantees about whether the pet stains would come out, and anyone who gave those to me were fibbing about their abilities. He went on to explain that prolonged exposure of carpet to animal urine changes the dye profile permanently. He even gave me the best home recipe for removing pet stains when they happen. He gave me a low price that beat the next bidder by 60 dollars. I wondered what the catch was. He said that I needed an experienced cleaner to work on our place, a master cleaner. He was going to send his fellow who has been cleaning for 20 years. I was impressed. Sterling, their master cleaner, showed and began working. He didn't have a lot to say. He tuned out everything to focus on the task at hand- cleaning. He spot treated, he cleaned for about an hour and a half. It didn't bother me that he didn't care to chat. I was impressed with his ethic, but made sure that I stayed out of his way and he didn't feel like I was looking over his shoulder. When he finished he handed me the bill. It was exactly what they quoted me on the day of the sale - no catch. This is a local company who has been in business for more than 20 years. They are truly as good as it gets. I am happy to report that they effectively removed the stress of cleaning the carpets for us by giving us a slightly lower price since the house was empty (without furniture) than they would have with furniture. You had better believe that I will call Austin Specialty Cleaners again and I will recommend them to anyone who needs steam cleaning services. This is the first time I'd used Austin Specialty cleaners after a recommendation from a friend. I had two pleather & cloth couches to clean, that had no stains, but lots of dog dander from their previous owners. I scheduled my appointment through their website and got the coupon they suggested. Everyone who I spoke with was courteous and really interested in helping me. They even emailed me information about a spray to use for further allergy issues. Not sure what happened to this mom and pop rug cleaning business. They used to be good. Husband and I have quite a collection of oriental rugs and we've had ASC clean these with good results in the past. Unfortunately the last two times I've taken my rugs in things have just been weird. Normally if something is just weird I let slide but when I business takes my money and doesn't deliver as promised I tend to get a bit tetchy. Like I said, time before last was weird with some odd coupon thing that you're supposed to buy on their website for $100 and get $200 off. The extra $100 discount is supposed to appear on the invoice. It does not. Ok this was a mixup and I just let it slide. But last time, hoo boy. One big rug, two little rugs. Hubs took these three in for cleaning, paid online with this goofy coupon thing plus a separate transaction for the main invoice. After a week or so husband picked up the rugs and did not look at them and dragged all three into the house. When we unrolled the rugs the big rug wasn't ours; the two little rugs were definitely ours and definitely had *not* been cleaned. So poor hubs dragged all three rugs back into his truck; I called the business, husband brought the rugs back. Another week or so and husband picks up the rugs, drags them into the house, and indeed the big rug was ours. But. It had not been cleaned. The two little rugs did get cleaned. Poor hubs was pooped and by now I was pretty fed up. No, husband was not going to schlep that big heavy rug back again. I called the business and spoke with the owner. After some back and forth he told me he would send a check by the end of the week; why a credit card refund wasn't considered is a mystery. Plus the whole thing is complicated by this discount. Husband did some math and the refund would exceed the main invoice and take a bite out of the $100 coupon purchase. A week goes by, another week, no check. I call again but the owner is on vacation and after a lengthy explanation, the person that answered says they'll get in touch with the owner. I get a call next day saying the credit card refund would be processed for the partial amount and the remaining balance of about $30 will be sent in form of a check (again, I *know* that part refunds can be made on a credit card purchase so why not process a $30 refund?). Thankfully in another couple of days the credit card partial refund is processed. And as you might have guessed that trailing $30 left to refund is missing. No check ever received. Now $30 is not a lot. But. Heavy lifting with no offer to come pick up/deliver the rugs, crazy coupon thing that never registers on their website, and the wind up is we paid them $30 to haul our dirty rug around town. read more

Our brand new, white linen, rather expensive sofa arrived Tuesday, and I had plans to have it treated with a fabric protectant, but I had not actually scheduled it yet. On Wednesday night our cats vomited on it, because of course they did. I tested the fabric cleaner that had worked very well on our last sofa - which was darker - in an area under the cushions and it left a very visible blob on the lighter fabric, so I decided the marks on the cushion were a job above my pay grade. I called Austin Specialty Cleaners on Thursday and Sterling came out, completely eliminated the cat vomit (as well as the blob from the fabric cleaner) and treated the sofa with a fabric protectant. These guys are amazing. My grandmother-in-law passed away recently and left truckloads of antiques and other sorts of knickknacks for my family and I. Most of it was in great condition, but there were a few items that seemed too far gone to be saved. They also just happened to have immense sentimental value to my wife. I had asked around everywhere and found no one who seemed confident enough to risk cleaning them, and finally someone pointed me to KC at Austin Specialty Cleaners. I brought one item to them, a hand-woven Peruvian tapestry that had basically been soaking in cat urine for ages, expecting to hear the same thing everyone else had said. But after a few minutes of examining the rug, he told me he could do it. I was shocked. Everyone else had either told me they just didn't know what to do, or that they weren't sure enough for me to risk damaging the tapestry. After a few days, they called me back and told me all was well. They'd gotten out the stench completely, and had even managed to get some other old stains as well. My wife was ecstatic. It did come with a hefty price tag, but it was definitely worth it. We brought the rest of the fragile stuff over to them and everything went very quickly and smoothly. Stay away, stay away, stay away from this rug cleaner. I had 2 very expensive rugs cleaned. I was satisfied with NONE of the cleaning, and the rugs are ruined. When I got back one oriental rug, the colors were no longer bright and patterns were smudged and run together. The colors ran. One area of the rug appeared 'acid burned, ' rough like brittle, dead grass. The soft texture of the expensive rug was history. Never, in a hundred years, would I have allowed this company to clean my expensive rug if I had known that they'd RUIN it. Just so you understand, the value of the rug was up in the thousands. I TOLD them that the colors would run and that they needed to take precautions. I asked them to take another expensive oriental silk rug and clean and sanitize it. We had an elderly dog that urinated on it. Never did they mention that the smell would/may not come out. I paid extra for the sanitizing process. I got this rug back (as well as the other above mentioned rug) after waiting over a month. I can only guess that the rug sat at Austin Specialty Cleaners so long that the urine settled in the rug. However, and again, I paid EXTRA to get the urine out. This rug has since been moved to the garage after having been "cleaned" and specifically "treated for urine." It smelled up the entire room after Austin Specialty Cleaners "cleaned" and "sanitized" it. Did I contact Austin Secialty Cleaners? Sure did. I contaced KC THREE times. He claimed to have NOT received the first email. He responded to my second email, however, when I wrote again, he ignored me. I guess he wants me to believe that he didn't receive this email either. This company slightly undercuts Deep Eddy Rug Cleaning. It would be VERY wise to check out the methods of cleaning and drying processes at Deep Eddy. I've found them to be FAR superior, and Austin Specialty Cleaners is not even in the same ball park. Consumer BEWARE. If Austin Specialty Cleaners ruins your valuable rugs, your will NOT get satisfaction whatsoever. They won't answer your emails, and will claim they didn't receive them. In conclusion, STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY. This is my $900 cleaning lesson. I paid to have my VERY EXPENSIVE oriental rugs ruined!!! read more

Extremely disappointed. I brought a rug in on March 9th for cleaning. They said it would be ready the following Friday and to pick it up then and pay online. I paid online and went in on Saturday. He loaded the rug into my car and I immediately noticed that is still smelled like dog and they was still leftover strings from my dogs toys all over it. I went back inside to tell him it wasn't cleaned and he came out and said it sure wasn't. He apologized and said they will clean in on Monday and have it delivered on Tuesday. Tuesday came and went with no rug. I called today and they said they forgot. It was delivered today. The rug looks like it was vaccumed. The walking areas still look dirty and it still smells like dog.... Not only did they forget to clean my rug for a week then they forgot to deliver it and after all that it doesn't even smell clean. I love supporting local businesses. I became acquainted with this company when I bought a sofa and added on the yearly cleaning warranty---well worth it. One of my sofas is out of the warranty but I still continue to get it cleaned. For the past 5 yrs they have been coming to my house to give my sofas a good spruce and cleaning. Stirling the master cleaner is professional and very focused on the tasks. Upon asking him if they could clean a raffia bench and some other pillows he said yes. 1.5 hours later I had 2 sofas, 1 bench and several pillows cleaned. It is easy to schedule, they are punctual and their price I find reasonable for the quality of work they provide. Once upon a time, I had a real grown-up sofa that said "dry clean only". I tried to keep it very clean, vacuuming regularly and rotating the cushions.
