Booked this hotel for a business trip. I needed to be at the convention center for work and it was right across the street - very convenient and short walking distance. Lobby is very clean and modern looking. I worked at the long table every morning as it was the only table that was ergonomic and had charging outlets. The hotel should really put more of these tables as it would make a lot working people happy! Last thing to note about the lobby is the very loud music. If you need peace and quiet, then avoid the lobby at all cost. For me, minus when I had conference calls, the music was very motivational. This hotel offers a lot of dining options but one of the places I visited every day was LOAF + VINE. I came here for coffee before I start work for the day. For my first visit, I tried the drip coffee. It was a bit acidic to me and a bit disappointing. However, it is free refills so that's a plus! I found out the next day that they offer two different roasts for their drip coffee (medium and dark) and only dark roast for all espresso drinks. I played it safe and went with an Americano for the rest of the days I was here. It was way better than the drip coffee I had and was very smooth. I also liked how this place have medication and other necessity items. I found that to be really cool! The hotel overall is very clean and had friendly staffs. The unfortunate part is I always look at reviews before my stay and came across one that talked about the "moldy" blankets. I really crossed my fingers and hoped that was just a one off thing however it happened to me too. You see it especially when the sun is directly shining onto the blanket. It is very noticeable with the way the duvet cover is loosely tied to the duvet. I totally understand that all duvet will turn yellow over time due to body sweat and that it is not entirely mold but to actually see it in room, I was very uncomfortable to use my blanket throughout the duration of my stay. I did not sleep well and always looked forward waking up so I can be out of my room. I did call housekeeping to see if I can get lucky and get a clean one. One funny thing occurred. I told them that I had stains on my bedding and would like a new one. When they came by, they gave me a duvet as if they knew what my complaint was about. However, the duvet they gave me was worse than the one I had. Something tells me that they probably get this complaint a lot otherwise how did they know I was calling regarding the duvet and not the duvet cover, bottom sheet, or top sheet? Another con to this place is the elevator. I would say I probably waited a good 10 minutes for an elevator going to the lobby. The elevator they have here is not the typical elevators but those modern ones you see at hyperscaler companies - you hit what floor you want to go to and you get assigned a designated elevator. The way they program the elevators to work is not efficient and waste of time. It would've been better to just go with the normal one. Last con is the mobile key function on the app. It did not work for me whatsoever and it is just ridiculous to be offered anyways. You must have a physical card when using the elevator to go to your level otherwise you cannot have access. If only I didn't run into the bedding issue, this would totally been a 5 star for me! read more

I had an absolutely excellent experience here. Stellar. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting from out of town. The hotel is huge! It has bars and restaurants throughout. The entire staff is exceptional, helpful, caring, just nice all around. I loved the rooms. They were extremely clean and updated. The lobby is great! It is a very walkable hotel with many things close by such as restaurants, shops, and bars. If you go to Austin, please stay here. You won't regret it. read more

Great clean hotel in the middle of downtown Austin. Nice restaurant and bar within; will def be back. The M Club was not serving breakfast the morning we stayed but Zach at the front desk hooked us up; he was professional and friendly. The rooftop pool looked great!!! read more

Reviews Would I return? Absolutely. My experience in full was simply just about five stars all around. A highlight for me was the staff working at the hotel, specifically at the front desk (that's you Joebeth). As a frequent visitor and platinum member for Marriott, I felt more seen and taken care of than many other experiences. Even when things were a little amiss, staff were quick to remedy any problems. It was truly an elevated hotel. Highlights: friendliness, and accommodation of the staff, the M lounge was a lovely addition, and it was nice to see a lounge open every single day, which is not always the case at many Marriotts right now. There is also is a variety of options for food and drink, which I really enjoyed. Their feature bar of Zanzibar is one of my most favorite hotel bars I have ever experienced. Shout out to Day who was the host and, as cheesy as it is, made my day more than once. Also, If you have the ability, upgrade your room, you will not be disappointed. Because of the positioning of the hotel, you can get some fantastic views. Cons: while the pool is lovely, there is a lot of shade because it's next to a very tall building. So in times where you wanna get some sun, you really can't do that. The other frustration I had was apparently the one full day I was there the pool had been bought out by a company and everything on that entire floor was closed, which included that amazing restaurant, bar area and the pool. I was really frustrated that as a paying guest of the hotel, who part of my purpose was to spend time at the pool, I was not able to do that. I wish I had been notified on check in or that there had been signs up the day before so I would know before planning my day around spending it at the pool . I will say that I ran into a staff member on my way back to my room after learning this, and they sent me some drink vouchers as an apology, which was a nice gesture. So while this was an inconvenience, no need to lose a star over it. Overall, I hope you choose to stay while in the Austin area. It really was a lovely experience! read more

Austin Marriott Downtown - The hotel wants to be good and care goes into this process - Hotels Near Me - Austin, Texas

Hotel is very clean (and my go to when I am in Austin), poolside tiki bar is unique, M Club on 1M serves breakfast, happy hour bites. the one negative about this Marriott that prevents this review from being a 5 star is the crazy expensive valet parking. read more

I really liked staying here. The rooms were spacious and clean and the front desk service was impeccable, right down to the walk and tutorial for the fancy elevators. The hotel is located conveniently next to the convention center and a ton of great restaurants and bars are within walking distance. There were good amenities and the coffee shop coffee was sooo good. Corrine's was a great choice and no need to even leave the hotel if you are looking for a nice meal or a night cap! read more

Great location walking distance to 6th street bars, across the street from the convention center, and near other hotels. Restaurant on site that offers room service, however it closes early, not 24 hours. With the time difference I had to order online food and the management was difficult about having it delivered to my room. If they won't doordash up, then the hotel staff needs to bring it up. Or keep room service open. Rooms are small but clean. Overall, clean, central spot with friendly staff at the cafe and delicious cookies and pastries! read more

Austin has been developing rapidly over the past few years. And hotels have been popping up - with this Marriott as one of the newer ones (as of this review). Located in the heart of downtown Austin, not too far from the congress st. Bats, convention center, and 6th street. The hotel is not as massive as the JW Marriott, built more vertical than horizontal. However, still a decently sized lobby and restaurant. Foot traffic is relatively busy, and street parking can be hit or miss depending on time. Check-in was straightforward and efficient, not much of a line. Did not check to see if they had a club lounge so no comments there. The rooms were ok, new but standard marriott fare. Bathroom was fairly open but not the most spacious. Windows were great though, and a good enough view. Wifi worked well, plenty of power plugs, and nice large TV. Best thing about this hotel is one of the nicest rooftop lounge in Austin. Zanzibar. Tiki themed ish, great when the weather is cool and next to their amazing pool. read more

We booked a room for my birthday weekend at the Austin Marriot Downtown hotel. When you walk into this hotel, you just feel luxurious. It feels very clean and very modern. The room itself is pretty small, but the view was amazing. I loved waking up to the sun rising and seeing the Austin skyline. Honestly, it made the trip so great. One of the reasons we booked this hotel was the pool. The first day, it was so packed that it was hard to find any chairs. It's a pretty small pool, but a good mix of people tanning on the chairs and people relaxing in the pool with their drinks. I had read reviews previously about how valet took a really long time, but we had no problems at all. It is an extra $54 or $56/night fee for valet parking. The only disappointing thing was that they didn't do anything special for birthdays, which maybe they don't ever do for their guests. It was a great birthday weekend and I would definitely go back! read more

Let me tell you, this is not your ordinary Marriott. The hotel and rooms are very clean and modern but the food is really quite impressive. I usually don't eat a lot of hotel food but this Chef has it going on! It is really good and the banquet staff is top notch! Our meeting clients really loved it all. Another great thing is the lobby decor. They have used local artists to depict Austin and its landmarks giving it a cool local vibe. Another impressive thing is how much contact the management had with us and our group. Adrian, Thomas and Charles who are all upper level with much to do all took the time to check on everything multiple time which was greatly appreciated! Thanks so much read more

I was here for the APR recycling conference a few weeks ago. We all stayed here at this property which was nice for me because I am loyal to the Bonvoy program that they have. I was able to check in early when I was here. They are well prepared, the hotel is beautiful, and there are options when you want to get food or drinks in the area downtown. They also opened up a new M lounge here, for Platinum Members to enjoy getting a snack or drink when needed. They are open 24/7 at this location, which was super nice. When I was craving a midnight snack, I walked down and there was desserts and drinks to choose from. It's nice to enjoy that. Of particular note, Seraphine was in the club in the morning when they were serving breakfast, noted the one day I wasn't there, and remembered my name. What a nice touch, and you feel this customer service at a very high level. In the evening, Danni was there when I was showing a work colleague the lounge since he was just going to get Platinum Elite status...and he was pretty excited. Awesome that they were ok with me showing off the lounge. Since we just ate it wasn't going to be anything for us except some gummy bears haha. When I was leaving the conference, I had a customer visit, so I left my bags with Kevin at the bell desk, free of charge (I did leave a tip) and he was so helpful when telling me how to navigate the city for the meeting. Made things super easy so then I was able to come back, get my bag, and head off to the airport as needed. This property is worth the visit. We had a discounted rate, and I imagine this cost is probably beyond my discretionary spending- but if I ever have to come for business again I will try to get here again so I can enjoy the perks of being a Marriott supporter. Thank you to the entire team here at the Austin Marriott Downtown. Loved my time visiting the city and this property. read more

The only reason I am giving this hotel up for is because the folks that were servicing the pool area during my visit. There really were not as attentive as every single other person on the staff. I was at the pool twice during my three day stay, and each time there were towels left on chairs for hours at a time and plastic cups all over the pool, deck and Flowing across the pool area. It wasn't until the end of the day when they actually pick those things up. But the location is great, the staff is attentive and professional, the room was everything I expected it to be, and I'll definitely be back. read more

I was really disappointed with my last stay. We had pretty bad service in the restaurant to the point 45 minutes went by and they still hadn't brought our beers that sat on the bar counter. We went to the bar upstairs. We went to sit and was told that everything was reserved. Notice the picture of the empty area. Someone finally sat us with the empty area behind and took 45 minutes again. Beer was warm and 1 drink was awful. They comped after. Rooms with 2 beds are compact and there is no luggage rack. Not hugely functional. M club was ok. Front desk was great but just expected more from Marriott. It happened to be a busy time so I don't know what is normal. I'm not sure I would come back. Because of the busy time they also stabbed me on points that I had to use. read more

This hotel is fairly new and this was a first time visit for me (I usually stay at the Fairmont). First off the location is fantastic. You're steps to the convention center, shops, restaurants, and Rainey Street. My room was modern and spotlessly clean. The staff are amazing and went out of their way to make sure I enjoyed my time there. I enjoyed the rooftop pool and bar areas (7th floor). The fitness center also on the 7th floor was clean, well appointed, and provided towels and water. My only knock on this place was the lack of a non alcoholic beer at any of the bars or restaurants in the hotel. I had to leave the hotel and get my tasty n/a hops somewhere else. read more

All around poor experience with my stay here. It seems that most amenities have been stripped away. I was given a queen when I'd reserved a king. The lobby is so insanely loud it's impossible to hear the front desk people during check in. Parking is valet only at $60/night. Ice can only be had through the concierge which takes quite some time. The standard internet $17/day is on par with dial up and would not suffice for work. It can hardly load social media. The cable tv channels have been stripped down and lack many of the ones you'd get with basic cable. You have the option to log in to your own streaming but they're difficult to load due to internet speeds. HORRIBLE value for the price. Rooms are small and have vinyl floors. The only redeeming quality is the location but even then there are many other options nearby. read more

Great hotel, nice location, great staff. I was staying here for a conference at the convention center. It was a quick and easy walk which made everything convenient. During check in, Nisa was incredibly helpful, even walking me to the elevator and explaining the key card and panel process-there are no floor buttons to push inside the elevators. The gym and pool are fantastic. Everything is clean and modern. There are great views. I would definitely stay here again. read more

After a long (and boring) year stuck at home during the pandemic, I decided to splurge and enjoy a staycation right at home in Austin. I saw the Marriott Downtown recently opened and wouldn't you know it - they had a staycation special! I stayed Wednesday - Saturday and enjoyed 20% off all food + bev, a discounted room rate (corner King suite!) and free valet. The hotel itself is very nice looking and who can turn down the option to stay at a brand new hotel? Everything is impeccably clean. The room itself had an amazing view down Cesar Chavez, overlooking Town Lake. If you have the option, be sure to request a room facing southwest. The other highlight was the pool. I stayed mid-week to avoid the partiers that typically come on the weekend, so I can't speak to that experience, but for myself, I had plenty of room to layout and enjoy the pool. Plus, as of mid-April, you no longer had to request a pool time. I assume they still offer reservations for the cabanas, but pool chairs were first come, first serve when I visited. Also - the sunsets are AMAZING! My only critique is the corner king is a touch on the small side. Granted it was just my husband and I, so we had plenty of room, but I recall the JW Marriott having slightly larger rooms. Other than that, the staff was professional, friendly and I enjoyed my stay! read more

Honestly I didn't stay here (lodging) instead I attended a conference (on 08/17) here and was very impressed. I haven't been impressed with their sales department, however. I have called their Sales Department in hopes to book a two-day business event there for the last 3 weeks and no return phone calls NOR an email. I provided my cell, my email address and even went to the front desk where you check in for a room and the manager told me for sure, no matter what I would receive a call by today and it's 3 pm and still no calls. I was very pleased with this Marriott Hotel. I flew into Austin on a Saturday afternoon (Nov. 23rd of 2024). I reserved my room in advance. I chose the top floor (31st). The room was beautiful! I loved my shower and the barn doors too. The view of Travis Lake was incredible. I could see the JW Marriott around the bend too. I was very impressed with the restaurant called the Corrine too. I had the small caesar salad and a wagyu rib eye steak. The iced tea was the best i've had in a long time. The food was fabulous! I can't wait to return to this beautiful hotel in the future. I had a good experience with most of the employees. The valets were all very personable and friend. Specifically Zane, Anthony and Xavier were amazing. In the little shop by the front door I really appreciated the lovely customer service provided by Mike. He was so nice. I did have a few unnerving experiences with some female staff when I first arrived on Sunday around 2pm when I arrived one of the front desk girls chased me over to the bar area and demanded to know what I was doing there and if I was checking in which I was obviously was since I had a suitcase. I was waiting on my aunt who reserved the room. She was not nice about it. Guess I don't look wealthy enough to have had a room there in her opinion. Also had a girl with pink eye liner on Monday in the shop where I met Mike be pretty rude when answering my questions about the food available. Those two ladies both need to work on their customer service. Maybe can take some tips from the fellas outside. read more

Thank you, Mayra, for starting our 5-star Marriott experience as titanium members. Great service! Wow! What an amazing stay I had at the Austin Marriott Downtown. The location is perfectly placed in the heart of downtown giving yourself plenty of options to Uber or walk for brunch, coffee, dinner. We were even able to walk to the State Capitol building! From the moment we arrived we were greeted outside with opened doors and escort to the front desk to help us with our bags. Ishan Kothari Checked us in and was EXTREMELY helpful. Asked us about preferences, explained all hotel offerings, best ways to get around and even escorted us to the elevators to assist with our bags and show the bars and restaurants on the main level. The room and building itself was nothing short of amazing. Amazing scents in the lobby and beautiful city view from your room 4 different bars in the hotel, and outdoor rooftop pool and a fitness center. I understand we are in a pandemic. With that being said the hotel is a week old and was very clean. The staff was polite. The restaurant on site is ok, limited menu options, no kid menus available. They are currently having guest reserve a time slot for the pool are, if you fail to know this or do so, slots will fill up and yo is I'll show up with kids in swim suits ready to swim just to be let down. I feel like this could be prevented if they just let you know at check-in, they do not. The gym seemed nice but I did not visit. The staff did not allow late check outs, then to change it to only 30 minutes later. The valet parking is quite slow. 20 minutes to bring down car) The hotel seems to be a little busy but I've seen busier hotels with better service.
