Really happy with service from beginning to end. Estimator arrived right on time and got right to it. Was very informative and explained every trade off with how the gutter system could be layed out. He was kind enough to come out an additional time and worked with me when I had a concern about one of the original routes. The solution we ended up with was even better. My installers were Luis and Phillip. They were also excellent. Arrived right on time and did a quick walk around to make sure all the details were right. They seemed to go above and beyond. For example, Luis noticed that one of the downpipes was going to interfere with our flood light's motion sensor and volunteered to reposition things while they were doing the installation. Overall awesome experience. From the initial quote and estimate with Raymond, to the installation by Max and Juan, I was very impressed. Raymond showed his many years of experience by recommending certain solutions over others, and designed the final solution with my goals in mind, not just a cookie cutter design. Max and Juan were professional, efficient and answered questions I had during the installation. They cleaned the work area thoroughly afterward, removing all of the small metal trimming pieces carefully. As the owner of curious dogs, this was much appreciated. 10/10 would recommend! read more

Also, Luis (who actually installed the gutters) was very nice and showed a great deal of integrity and professionalism. Case in point, Luis thought he had broken one of our exterior lights during the installation (though he hadn't - it was already broken) and made sure he pointed it out to me and apologize. He also told me he called his boss and told him about it, too. He knew he might get dinged/docked for it, but he did the right thing anyways. That shows a lot of character. I was overwhelmed with researching gutters and ended up decided to talk to the 2 biggest Austin gutter companies. Austin Guttermann was professional in their meeting with me, and even emailed me a picture of the sales person that I initially met with. The presentations of Guttermann and their competitor were similar so I went with price of the level that I wanted. Unfortunately, that wasn't AGM. I wanted to post 2 stars to Guttermann because until the point of "thanks but no thanks," the Gutterman sales rep was very professional. Upon the rejection, the tone changed. He bashed the competitor and told me I shouldn't trust him. He was also asking about exact cost and tried to say the competitor was going to do an aweful job. Although I'm sure I would have been happy with Guttermann, I am glad I didn't go with them because of their poor sportsmanship. I should also comment that this occurred a year ago. I had the same experience as Shelly K! Also about a year ago, I researched several companies to put new gutters on our home. The sales pitch, follow up, and question answering was wonderful until I indicated I was going with a different company. The sales guy tried to guilt trip me, mentioning he had a newborn baby and how the loss of a sale would affect it, it was completely unprofessional. I ended up having to threaten him with calling a supervisor if he didn't stop bothering me. Now I'm in the market for gutter cleaning service and because of this previous experience, I will not be using Austin Gutterman. read more

I used Austin Gutterman a few years ago to replace a previous installation. The biggest problem with the old gutters was an area where the roof slopes funny and water pooled in the gutter. I specifically called this out to the estimator, but the new gutters were installed with the same problem. No one would come fix it and no one would return my calls. read more

A KOKE-FM Trusted Partner! I've got two things to say about gutter installations: 1. If you don't have gutters on your home; have them installed! Gutters will save your home from unsightly staining of the facade from rain water containing asphalt material of the shingles (ask me how I know) and potential damage to the slab from uneven water runoff from the roof. 2. If you are building a spec home, don't elect to have the builder install gutters as it costs about 50% more than using a locally owned independent gutter company. In my case I saved over $1500.00 by contracting with Austin Gutter Man, Inc. after my home was completed. With that said, I had three bids for gutters on my house, all of which were very competitive (but always beware of the lowest bidder and two companies never returned by phone calls). AGM presented me with four great options for gutters based upon the longevity I expect to keep my house (from a 20 year warranty to a life time warranty). I decided to contract with AGM because they were referred to me by my good friend, Bob Cole, at KOKE FM radio in Austin, Texas. AGM is a "trusted partner" of KOKE FM's which denotes that they will only endorse and advertise for locally owned Austin companies that have a proven track record of good business practices. Kevin Stamnitz, was the sales consultant, that showed up (on time) and walked me through the installation process. After meeting Kevin within five minutes it was just like talking to an old friend that I've known all of my life. Turns out, Kevin's late father was a renowned pedal steel guitar player here in Texas that played with some of country music's greatest country singers. I sent AGM a deposit for 50% of the contract price (which is normal); beware of doing this for companies that are not locally owned of which AGM is one (1) of only about three (3) in Central Texas. AGM contacted me about a week earlier than the tentative installation week and the installation crew arrived within an hour of the time AGM said they would despite the massive traffic delays in Austin due to the president being in town. The installation crew was professional, courteous, and had the job completed flawlessly in about two hours. Bottom line for AGM; the process was smooth from the online request form to schedule a quote to installation. During the recent, (and only) downpour we realized that our gutters could use some TLC. We looked on Angie's List and found that Austin Gutterman, Inc. had a half off coupon for a gutter cleaning. So, after reading the great reviews, we went ahead and bought the coupon. I called up the office and was scheduled for an appointment just a few days away - I thought I'd be left waiting for a while considering the popularity of the coupon, but nope! Today Mike came out and cleaned out our gutters - he's a really cool guy to talk to and incredibly insightful and helpful. He told me about the status of my gutters, made suggestions regarding their longevity in their current state, and made recommendations. He even went *above and beyond* by blowing off the debris that had accumulated on the roof of our porch, and to my surprise when I went out there, I found he had blown all the leaves off our porch as well. That's outstanding service right there, folks. He ended the service call by giving me a detailed inspection report, and an estimate for the work he recommended we have done. I'm mildly surprised these guys dont have any reviews yet... I guess Ill be the first. I had the sales guy out to the house to do detailed measurements; he was overly friendly and was able to answer just about every question that I threw at him about the gutter install. He came out a 2nd time when I was making adjustments to the quotation after having some time to think about it. Again, he was super friendly and we came to a price that was "a go." I had three sides of the house done with 1/2 round galv seamless gutters which terminated into an underground french drain that I had to construct prior to their install. (their prices for this were quite high so I did it myself) The service people who came out did a good job on the install, one of the few installs on a home where I didnt come back noticing some nit crap that pissed me off, which is a high bar for them to go over. Bravo. About a month or so into owning the gutters, we had some minor water pooling in one of them; they were quick to come back over to the house and make adjustments which got rid of that problem. Overall, the gutters have been on the house for about 6 or so months now. Although it really hasnt rained in the past month - they sure have held up to the huge downpours and vast amounts of water which flow from our metal roof. I would recommend this company to anyone who's going for a higher end gutter setup at their home. read more

We built a new house in July 2015. It was recommended to install gutters. After researching on yelp we decided to go with them! Kevin the sales consultant was very professional and friendly. He told us they couldn't install the gutter until February 2015! at my surprise we got a call this week ( month early) and our gutters are up. Travis did a fantastic job, they look beautiful. Don't get ripped off, people! Austin Gutterman quoted me over $3K for 188 sq. ft., or $14.85 per square foot of aluminum gutters (based on total cost, including the downspouts). These people quoted me an additional cost for material more than 10 times their retail cost. You can buy a 10 ft of aluminum gutters at major home improvement stores for $7 ($0.70 per foot or less). I felt compelled to write about Austin Gutterman's predatory pricing because it must be only for people who are completely clueless about what gutters really cost - aluminum gutters are very cheap! Anybody charging $5/ft and above for 5" seamless aluminum gutters is trying to rip you off. You gotta shop around and get multiple bids from many companies and independent contractors and research before you hire a gutters company. A smart consumer would pay no more than $2.00-$3.50 per ft of seamless aluminum gutters for the total cost of installation and materials, including the downspouts and everything. When calculating your cost per ft, include the total cost that includes downspouts and everything else. I hope my review helps you to become a smarter consumer. read more

Let's see, where do I start? Having used Austin Gutterman on a previous house and knowing they have a good reputation, two weeks ago I called to see if they indeed cleaned gutters as I had heard since the house we bought in 2007 had gutters that needed cleaning. I was asked if Austin Gutterman had installed the gutters on the house originally, but I had no idea since I hadn't had them installed myself. They looked up the address and told me that they only liked to clean gutters if they had installed them and would charge an minimum of $750 to clean gutters that were installed by anyone else. No thanks! I contacted a window cleaning group that does excellent work and they are due to arrive today to do the job for a couple of hundred dollars. This week I called Austin Gutterman again to get them to send someone out to look over my clean gutters, evaluate the gutter system, perform any recommended repairs, add downspouts, etc, to make them work better and to alleviate the overflow where some of the supports are missing or loose. Once again the question was "Did we install your gutters originally?" Once again I said I didn't know. I was informed that they only install new gutters and work on gutters they had previously installed. I thanked the nice gatekeeper for her time and told her that I although I had used them in the past, I would not be using them for any of my future work. I had been considering the installation of what would have been $8,000 to $10,000 worth of Leaf Guards on the gutters, but will Austin Gutterman be installing them. No thanks! I'll just pay to have the gutters cleaned semi-annually and I figure that around the year 2037 I will have finally spent the equivalent cost of a new Leaf Guard system. read more

They put up new gutters on our house. They didn't put enough down spouts and the ones they did put on the house were installed at high points along the gutters. So...when it rains, the water overflows the gutters due to the downspouts being too small in size and not enough of them. Also, because of the way they sloped them, an inch of water sits in them for weeks after it rains and we have mosquitoes all over the place and sludge in the gutters. I have contacted them 3 times and tried to get them to fix this terrible gutter job and they refuse to do anything about it.... So now I have to pay someone else to fix this mess. Trust me, don't waste your money on this company. When you have a problem, they will conveniently ignore you or they will try to charge you to come out and fix the problems that they created. read more

When I told him I though they were way overprice he told me that for $100 they would inspect my "cheaper" gutters after I installed them and let me know what was done wrong. I have so much to say, but I'll do my best to organize it. I'm also going to shorten Austin Gutterman to AGM to reduce my typing. If you read nothing more, I am thrilled with the job AGM did! We've had multiple showers since the job was complete and I am stunned at how well this addressed my flooding and other issues! It is almost a miracle and I can't recommend AGM more highly. Sidebar: I see the sales guy guilt trip reviews and I did not have that experience. I put the job on hold after getting quotes because of an unexpected vet bill of $5k. AGM never bothered me and I came back on my own once finances allowed...almost a year later. Problem: My house is 16 years old and still only has the few gutters installed by the builder so I was having big flooding problems, even with just a little rain. Some of the existing gutters were tipping slightly out of line so I had water getting behind them and causing staining and other issues. Initial Interaction: After getting quotes from 4 highly rated companies I selected AGM because John Richter answered every question in a realistic way, offered solid recommendations even if they were counter to what I'd been thinking and clearly explained things where other companies were contradicting each other. He never pushed or pressured me and when I explained I was on a budget he gave me options with cost differences so I could make informed decisions. I was also considering a rainwater collection barrel and he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with that. What really impressed me was that John was the only one who completed the quote WITH me, on the spot, explaining each entry as me made it so I could ask questions and I knew exactly what was quoted and why. Also, I have no color sense so I left it to John to pick the right color (there was no exact match with my house) and he picked the perfect color...the gutters blend perfectly! Cost: Budget was a big deal to me and AGM was not the lowest price, but after talking to John I felt strongly that they would do the best job, understood my problems, and had the clearest solution. So I put off the rainwater collection in favor of selecting AGM and now that the job is done I'm happy with my decision. The Job: Everyone who showed up was personable, professional and most importantly, knew their stuff!! Though I don't know gutters, I consulted a neighbor along the way to double check some things and not only did he agree with AGM, but he asked me for their contact info to get a quote for his house. The job was spec'd at 3 days (remove old gutters, repair wood/flashing as needed, install new gutters). I was talking to them at 8pm the night before repair and they had meetings after talking to me. The result was that they consolidated the last 2 days into 1 because we were expecting rain and they wanted to get my house done before it hit...I was very happy to have the job completed early. During the install one of the guys noticed something they could do differently since I'd decided to delay the rain collection system. I loved that the installers were thinking about how to best implement the job and took the time to suggest changes (at no extra cost in this case) that would make the gutters look better with my house. We made the changes on the spot, he wrote up a $0 change order so it was documented and they implemented it...wonderful! Cons: There was only one issue and it's easily avoided with this heads up from me. Since I was getting quotes from multiple vendors I only gave them my home number. I now know I should have given them my cell so it was in my file. I insisted on being home while they were working (not necessary, but turned out to be beneficial so I highly recommend it) so I had to schedule specific days so I could work from home. The schedule was almost blown multiple times because I simply could not get anyone in the office to call my cell. I left VMs, sent emails and every time I replied to the scheduling team I gave them my cell and asked them to use it instead of the number in my file...very frustrating, but small in the grand scheme. They'd leave me time sensitive messages needing a reply that day and I'd get the message after work when AGM was closed. The only reason we stayed on schedule was thanks to the amazing crews who worked into the evening to get things back on track. LOVED THEM! Again...very small issue and easily avoided, but I thought it was worth mentioning. read more

As one person said, where do I start. At the end of May we contracted to have our siding and fascias replaced. I remembered that when we got our gutters in 2008 that we were told if we had any work done on our house that would affect our gutters we needed to call them so that they could remove them and keep our guarantee so I did that. i was told someone would be out the next day to look at the situation and give us an estimate regarding cost. He didn't show until I wrote an email stating my unhappiness. We were about to leave town so I needed to secure dates to make sure this work was done before the siding and paint job. I also stated that I didn't want to pay a thousand dollars for this work...my mistake, since I believe they decided right then and there what I would pay close to that. Troy came and fed me a lot of BS (in my opinion) about how seriously they take their gutter work. He also noticed a dent and said if it was hail damage our guarantee was off. Really, for hail damage? It took forever for them to give me a date when they could remove the gutters. They did and gave me a quote of $800+ to do it. I received an email with the price and the date when they could take them down. On that date,the guy didn't show when he was supposed to so I called Troy, who had told me to call him directly about anything. I did and he told me I had to confirm that I had received the previous email and had agreed to the price. I had done that via email but I sent another. Finally the guy arrived to remove them by himself and it took two days for him to do the job (we only have gutters on the back of our house). Now fast forward to now. The work on our house is done (it took a week for new siding and paint). I called Troy about having our gutters reinstalled and asked about a few other things. He said he would be over the next day to make sure everything was ok. I asked what time he would be here and was told between 10:30 and 12:30. I cancelled my afternoon plans. He didn't show nor did he call. Caesar called around 5 and said they would come today, June 28 between 1 and 2 to reinstall our gutters and Troy would come with them. At a little after 2:30 I called to ask where they were. Caesar said their previous job had taken longer than expected so they would not be able to come today. I understand that things happen but how hard is it to make a phone call letting me know? He said they will get here sometime around noon tomorrow. I informed him that I do have a life, that I have cancelled plans two days in a row and now must cancel what I was planning to do tomorrow. And I am wondering if they will even show up tomorrow. To say I am angry is an understatement. I believe my contractor could have taken the gutters down and reinstalled them at no extra cost which I am sincerely wishing I had done. So when you call their office and get put on hold, beware when the message talks about the lifetime guarantee which in my opinion gives them a license to screw you for more money once again. I tried to schedule an appointment to repair my existing gutters and to add leaf guards on all my existing gutters for my home in Tarrytown, but apparently Austin Gutterman is too busy. They were nice enough on the phone, but couldn't schedule me for several weeks out plus they have a $750 minimum on any work done. Also, they won't just do service-only any more; again too busy. I know that Austin is booming and everyone is busy, but this kind of "service" tends to be remembered when the downturns come... FYI: I'm sure the actual cost of the work I need done will far exceed their minimum, but I'd rather give me money to a company with a little more foresight. read more
