Took my 10 month old Cavalier King Charles for his first grooming appointment, and the staff did a fantastic job! I asked for a trim to even out his long and unruly coat. The entire process (from drop off to pick-up) took around 2 hours. He came home looking and feeling great, and the staff were super friendly as well!

We love Austin Canine Central. Both of our doodles go there for grooming and they always come out looking great. One of our dogs is a hyper monster and I don't know how they deal with her so well. As long as they will take us we will keep going back!

Please go to Yelp first before purchasing anything! Thankfully yelp had a coupon and we were able to save on our dogs training. The host was very kind and accommodating to get us into October and November trainings. Our bully mix is only seven months old and she was the youngest in the class. We chose to get our pepper some training because dogs that look like pit bulls have bad stereotypes and our pup is the sweetest and this training really helped bring out the beautiful side of our pepper. From 7 PM to 8 PM the trainer explains each rule and expectation for everyone. She gave really good suggestions and commendation when our puppy was doing good. Because our puppy is so young and looks like a pitbull we felt a little defeated in the beginning but slowly warmed up and everyone in the class was like a small family it was cute. I would strongly suggest you take your puppy to this class or a class similar so asked to have a good relationship with your dog and be able to take him or her with you anywhere and not be afraid or concerned. The space was huge and inside so we weren't having to cross contaminate anyone or anything. Masks were required at all time. It was more of a work out for me and my husband and it was for my puppy who enjoyed every moment. Thank you Austin canine central

This place was fantastic. I especially want to thank Julie and her super generous dedicated trainers/"students" (hard to call them students...they looked like trainers with their well behaved dogs!) who stayed late to help get my ol' girl Magz tested as a Good Canine Citizen. Magz has advanced arthritis...rescued her from Class Canines at the Austin Animal Center at age 10. At age almost 14, she has very bad elbows and hips. Julie went beyond the call of duty to proactivity inquire about testing options approved by the AKC for senior dogs who have slow and limited mobility. Most facilities would have taken my money over and over again to train a dog who finds it hard to get into certain positions. But not this school...they immediately asked if I wanted to try the test and I was delighted. Magz passed with flying colors. (She followed directions better than me. LOL.) Thank you Julie and your dedicated students! Magz gives you four paws up!

Urine stained feet after sitting in a kennel all afternoon

I'm assuming that this is a one-off occurrence since all of the other reviews are fairly positive. I have a large Sheepadoodle (80#) and my regular groomer had a health emergency and needed to cancel our appointment for the following day. I was concerned that it may be a month or more before he could handle such a large dog. I messaged ACC and they were quick to respond and able to fit her in quickly. I told them that she needs to be wore out a bit before grooming, which is why I was excited about them providing daycare services. I was there at 7am to drop her off. They said that the groomer starts at 9am, so she could play with the other dogs until then. I was surprised to learn that the dogs are kenneled for a majority of the time, and I should have been late for work and taken her home, but I proceeded as they ensured me that the dogs are tired and ready to go into the kennels. I told them that I'd be back around 4pm to get her and she understood. I was called at 10:00am and said that she was ready to be picked up. I was shocked to say the least because it normally takes 4-5 hours at any other groomer. She said that my dog would be in daycare until I come by that evening. I came to pick her up a little after 3pm and the office was silent. An older lady was at the desk and I told her who I was and she got up to get my dog. She walked thru a closet door and turned on the light where I was able to see a wall of kennels and dogs immediately started barking. It took her over 5 minutes to reemerge with my dog, who's pulling on the leash harder than I've ever seen before! The lady actually had to let go before the dog pulled her over. My dog ran to me and sat at my feet, whining and crying. I noticed the bottom few inches of her feet were wet and yellow, along with part of her chest. I smelled them and could pickup hints of urine, but they had sprayed her with some type of perfume. I was infuriated, but maintained my composure and left before yelling at this older lady and probably regretting it later. I did take photos as soon as I got in my truck, and started typing this review while in the parking lot, but decided to sleep on it before tarnishing a small business. I washed her feet once we got home and got her ready for the Halloween activities happening on the following day, she was dressing up as Harley Quinn. On the first of November, I was rinsing the pink and blue coloring off of her ears and noticed that one of them is packed with ear mites. I have a dog with floppy ears, I realize that they need to be properly cleaned during a bath and dried appropriately to avoid mites, she hasn't had an issue for over two years. Either this occurred after the grooming because she wasn't properly dried (I've never seen mites get this bad that quickly), or the groomer didn't notice it and clean accordingly (or even let me know). Either way, that was the straw that made me type this miniature novel. Overall, the location isn't great, the people weren't overly friendly, and the services were the worst I've ever experienced. I will not be back. As I said, this may be a one time incident and everything snowballed, but it was a terrible experience.

Austin Canine Central did a great job with my little Schnauzer!! Not only were they able to fit us in the next day but the cut was exactly what I asked for (short Schnauzer). Will definitely be coming back for grooming!! Hint: there is no line for a tip on their CC receipt so be sure to bring cash or ask to include tip.

I really like this place! It is a great concept! I've only been here for play groups with my pups but I love the set up. They have a really nice indoor space with a great type of flooring that is very pup friendly and add offers extra padding to their high impact play. I feel like the mirror is a great touch too! Gives the pups a bit of extra stimulation and I'm sure it helps a ton in working with show pups which is one of the main courses here. The owners are really great too! I spent a lot of time talking to the wife about their classes and trainers and very much enjoyed learning about the different events they attend. She was super friendly and if I didn't work at a doggy daycare I would make the trek to their place for daycare! That's how much I believe in their service, I'd recommend them to anyone in their area! The other thing I liked is that they offer brands of food and training treats that I haven't seen before! I personally used their Real Meat treats for my kiddos and they worked amazing for training! They also sell a Real Meat seasoning that is dried out meats that are blended to a powder and without a doubt the best thing to help a pup find an appetite! Hope to visit more in the future!

Transformative Online Training, Truly Beyond Words!…read more We are so grateful for Allegra and her incredible online training program. We took in two stray dogs who were wild, anxious, and completely untrusting. We weren't sure where to begin and it was chaotic for us, until we found her. Through her online courses and virtual sessions, she helped guide us step by step with patience, wisdom, and a technique that honestly goes beyond words. Even though we never met in person, her presence and deep understanding of animal behavior came through in every interaction. With her support, our dogs have started to trust us, calm down, and settle into their new life. The change has been remarkable. It feels like a miracle to see them open up and begin to feel safe and loved. If you're dealing with fearful or reactive dogs, do not hesitate to work with Allegra. Her approach is compassionate, intuitive, and truly life-changing. Thank you, Allegra, so much!!

It's much more wide ranging than training that's only focused on commands like sit/stay/down/etc (though you can work on all of those with the Naked Dog's programs too). Before we signed up for the group training series, I was at my wit's end with our recently adopted dog. He had a lot of behavioral issues, ranging from chewing things in the house, overall excitability, constant attempts to eat pecans and, worse, trash on walks (and often succeeding despite our best efforts & requiring steady doses of probiotics and even a vet visit to induce vomiting), and lunging on leash at dogs and passing vehicles. We also noticed that when we took him to the dog park, he'd play really rambunctiously and generally go 0-60, including running and body checking other dogs (not the best strategy for harmonious playing). The great part about this series is that it's three in-person sessions (we added a fourth for some additional coaching) and the rest is a series of online lessons. This made it easy for us to work through at our own pace. In the online portion, the end of every lesson included video homework that we'd send in and get feedback from one of the Naked Dog trainers -- this was great because it captured us applying these skills in a total real world setting, without the presence of a trainer to coach us or influence our dog to be on his best behavior. Fast forward a couple months, and now we feel confident that we can handle any situation with our dog, including taking him to busy and distracting environments and responding to misbehavior. He's mellowed out so much -- he isn't perfect, but it feels like we've reached an understanding. He went from my problem child to my sidekick. He can walk in a heel, he comes when called, and will wait at the door before we say he can come in. It feels like he's looking to us as leaders and that he's truly settled in as part of our family. We followed the Naked Dog's recommendations for introducing dogs for the first time when we took him over to a friend's house to meet their dogs, and they remarked on what a good dog he is, and that he's better behaved than other dogs they've petsitted, so now we have a worry-free petsitting option. I also now take him by our neighborhood park on walks and let him meet other dogs, which used to be a wild activity full of leash pulling and jumping. The Naked Dog taught us what to look for in reading dogs' behavior so that we can spot polite vs rude behavior and manage their interactions before they start getting too wild, which is a truly priceless part of this training seminar.

The owner does need to be diligent with taking their dog to the trainings (we kind of fell off at the end but it was okay) but as long as you stick with it, your dog will learn new skills and will be better behaved than before. We can literally walk our dog without a leash now, I never thought that would be possible. She will sit in her place when people come over and we are always getting compliments on how good she is. We can do things in the front yard and have her stay in the garage and she won't run after other dogs that walk by or other other people or children. She has learned to stay in her place for as long as we need her to be. It's funny because she was a really wild dog before and now that she's trained everybody loves her. overall the training here was worth it and we are really happy that we did it!

I reached out to Matt for virtual dog training appointments to help us through that, and his guidance and great wisdom around dog psychology and behavior and deep empathy for Ryder and in general made such a huge impact. I learned from Matt how to help Ryder through his fear and trauma and how to recognize when he was experiencing trauma (for example, he developed a new and strong fear of rumbling engines). By applying Matt's empathetic practices, Ryder has become much less fearful, is no longer afraid of rumbling engines or playing with other dogs and he's back to his old happy, playful, super enthusiastic and friendly self!! :) Matt also greatly helped my dog Ellie through the excessive anxiety that resulted from my marital separation and helped us learn what an impact the breaking of that social bond had on her and how to address it!
