Avoid dealing with this company at all costs. Initially, we agreed on several projects, including sodding, installing edging, and building a walkway. The estimate outlined four key elements for the sodding project: removing old grass, tilling, adding a new soil layer, and installing new grass (refer to the attached invoice photo).
However, the actual work done was far from what was promised. In some areas, the new grass was simply placed on top of the old grass, with no tilling or addition of new soil. When questioned about the absence of soil, the response was dismissive, claiming they had forgotten--a statement that seemed utterly ridiculous. The promised tilling was never carried out, raising concerns about potential weed growth in the future.
To add to the disappointment, the quality of work was abysmal and clearly rushed. Despite the company's attempt to rectify their mistake by offering a $150 discount for the missing soil, it was evident that their primary concern was profit, not delivering a quality service.
I had to contact them, sending pictures of the subpar work for them to acknowledge the issues. Even upon their return, their attempt to fix the problem was hasty and lacking in proper groundwork preparation. They hastily scraped off the old grass and laid down new grass within minutes, without addressing the critical steps of tilling and adding new soil.
I initially hesitated to hire this company due to their constant delays, but I ended up paying the full deposit upfront, hoping for a satisfactory job despite the delays. Unfortunately, the poor quality of work and the omission of essential tasks from the agreed-upon list made it clear that I made a regrettable decision.
For anyone considering this company or any other sodding service, I strongly urge you to take the following precautions based on my experience:
Do not pay an upfront deposit. Only make payments after a thorough walk-through, even for materials.
Ensure the company adheres to the scheduled dates and holds up their end of the bargain.
Verify that the ground is properly prepared before the installation of new grass.
Insist on the proper marking of edges before work commences.
If you have a homeowners' association (HOA), involve them in all communications from the outset.
Conduct a meticulous walk-through, checking off all the specified line items in various spots, especially in non-traffic areas.
These precautions are essential to safeguard your investment and ensure you receive the quality service you deserve. read more
