Several years ago, Airco installed a 3-ton variable-speed system in a house that had previously had a 2-ton unit (and a history of trouble keeping cool). After about a year of operation, our tenants reported mold in the ducts, high humidity, and a short-cycling unit. Our investigation found that the installer, Stuart, had never pulled a permit for the work. I want to be candid: it took a negative Yelp review to get Airco's attention. Jeremy reached out, recommended we upsize the ductwork, offered a very fair price, and agreed to close out the permits. I'm slow to trust, so I got second and third opinions from other HVAC companies -- they confirmed the system size was correct for the house, and that the ductwork should have been upsized at the original install. My own Manual J calculations agreed with Jeremy's. Notably, Jeremy was the only installer I could find who was actually willing to run a Manual J. He also followed through on pulling permits and getting the city inspection scheduled. Airco worked to schedule the new duct installation during the one week we'd be in town -- during peak season, no less -- and their crew moved fast and stayed professional, which I appreciated given how brutal a Texas attic is this time of year. A few days in, the system is no longer short-cycling, and indoor humidity has dropped to about 63%. Still a touch higher than ideal, but we think we can chase the rest of it down -- possibly window seals, possibly fan settings or duct leakage. I was impressed enough that I also used Airco for a plumbing call this week.

Suggest you don't use them or at least force a fixed quote upfront or they'll take you to the cleaners.

After receiving some ridiculous quotes from some of the "bigger" artificial turf companies, offering a lower grade of turf for a substantially higher price, I went forward with the project with Umesh and KG Lawn Care. Umesh took on my project of installing approximately 1000 sqft of artificial turf, metal edging, and black star gravel around some cypress trees. Roughly a month before starting, I expressed to Umesh my desire to have the project completed in time for our family's annual crawfish boil, which he assured me he would fulfill. I can't say enough positive things about Umesh, Lucas, and their crew. As we neared the date of my family's party, Umesh assured me that he would push to make the deadline, even with unpredictable central Texas weather. Umesh not only kept to his promise in finishing the project in time for our party, but also knocked it out of the park! The artificial turf looks incredible and instantly became my daughter's favorite place to play. Umesh and his crew put a level of detail into the project in ensuring every aspect was perfect for my family. As pleased as I am with the project itself, the most noteworthy aspect I want to highlight in this review is how Umesh does business. In a world where so many are looking to cut corners, charge more, and provide less, I found that Umesh is a man of immense integrity who keeps to his word. Umesh delivered on his promise to ensure my yard was immaculate for my family's party, but most notably, his promise on pricing. A day before our turf was set to be installed, Umesh was notified by the turf company that the turf we picked out was no longer available (with zero warning). Umesh was forced to upgrade the turf at a difference of nearly $800. I offered to split the difference with Umesh but was told: "Nah man, it's all good. I like to keep my word and pricing. It's not your fault." This really struck me that Umesh was willing to eat $800 in order to keep his word with me on pricing. KG Lawn Care exceeded my expectations and truly helped me complete my dream back yard - The quality of work and character of Umesh will have me recommending him and his company to all my family and friends!

How can you trust someone to give more money if they are not truthfull to the agreed terms? Darrell and his associate did a great job relocating two sprinkler heads in my small garden. From the get go I was very impressed with Darrell's communication skills. I was kept up to date on his availability and was sent reminders when my appointment was scheduled. They came out a little earlier than scheduled but that's a plus. I explained that I needed two sprinkler heads moved because I was building a retaining wall and they were in the way. They showed me the work they did when they were done and ran the sprinkler to make sure it was to my satisfaction. Since they were already there I asked him if they had time to do a full sprinkler check. They said sure no problem. They took their time and weren't in any rush and did a thorough job. They found a sprinkler head that was damaged due to lawn care and replaced it free of charge. Darrell is AWESOME!!! We lost a battle to mother nature a couple weeks ago (lightning struck and wiped out our sprinkler system). I'm a "strong do-it-yourselfer" but just could not figure it out. I called RainTree USA and Darrell made time for us the same day. He was on time, thorough, and prepared. He also made me feel good about the efforts I took in trying to troubleshoot the system. It took Darrell no time at all to fully troubleshoot and find the root cause of my issue. Had an issue with an MV Error on a rainbird and got stuck trouble shooting it myself. Called RainTree and got through to Darrell. What a thorough gent. Walked me through what I needed to do. Listened to what I had done. I agreed to have him come out and look at it but proceeded in the mean time to check one last thing he told me to look for and found the problem. Ironically within the next couple of days one of our sprinklers turned into a splash pad, so we made an appointment with Desiree at Big Blue. She was very pleasant to speak with. On the day of the appointment, Anthony and Brandon arrived on time and got right to work after inquiring about what issues we were having. They checked all the zones to see what was happening in each. Within an hour they had not only fixed what we called them for, but also some additional things they uncovered while testing out the system. During the process, they explained everything along the way to ensure there was an understanding of what was being done. Anthony even told me how much time each zone needed watering and why. They were also efficient in cleaning off the dirt that got onto the sidewalk and driveway. Sprinkler heads were adjusted, one head was changed out and all damaged drip lines were repaired. We definitely got our money's worth with their service. Big Blue is a company with integrity which is greatly appreciated! Water was exploding out of the ground and flooding our yard. Operation Jump claimed they did nothing wrong and were unwilling to assist in any way. It was an emergency situation. I found American Irrigation and they had a technician here within an hour and fixed it quickly. They offered great customer service and were very compassionate about the stressful situation (unlike Operation Jump). I would definitely recommend them! By the way, if you're ever looking to rent an inflatable, DO NOT use Operation Jump.

Other company: Inspection $179 - cost of repair including inspection cost $275 After going with the other company, all sprinklers are looking good, all drip lines fixed, clogged heads were unclogged, and broken heads were replaced. A few other minor stuff was done. If I had gone with this company I'm sure the same work would've been done at at least 4x the cost of the other company. American Irrigation Repair said the rain sensor isn't working. Weird, cause it was tested by the other company and it worked fine. There's no "sensor" it's just a soaking pad that weighs down and presses a button, and the button correctly stops the sprinklers. My experience with American Irrigation Repair was not good. At least their inspection is only $79, but considering what they "found" (16 broken heads, 4 broken drip lines, 13 crooked heads, broken rain sensor) even the $79 wasn't worth it. And their cost of repair for each item they "found" is also double the price of other companies. Not a company I would consider using at any point in the future.

He determined that several heads were cracked, leaking or just needed replacement. He gave me the price and went ahead and replaced all the heads that needed it. Sprinker systems should be checked regularly. The heads get wrecked and you can waste a lot of water if you don't pay attention. I was very pleased with the service, decent prices and professionalism from Eric. Smart Earth is my go-to company for sprinklers now.
