The shop itself is very narrow, tightly-spaced and a little tough to navigate through. But it's still worth a look. Great selection of all kinds of toys, old and new and many different brands as well. I've managed to get some interesting deals on some must-have items. I even found an entire toy set I had when I was a kid, which are some of my favorite types of finds as they take me back to my childhood. The prices can sometimes be a bit steep, but if you're a serious collector or you're just a big kid at heart, then it's totally worth it! My favorites are the wrestling figures, there are so many to choose from and some you can't find anywhere else. Some awesome additions to the collection have been found here. However, some toys in the store are hanging on the shelf in a plastic bag, which makes it difficult to see what they are and to browse through as I have to take all of them off the rack one-by-one to get to the one I want to see. If there was an easier way to do that, it'd be great. I'm sure the other patrons don't appreciate me holding up traffic while I rifle through several dozen little baggies that are above my head, trying not to tear the plastic or knock everything off the wall while I am squeezed in the six-inch amount of floor space between the displays. I also like the Hot Wheels cars, the blind boxes, and they usually have some really cute stuff by the front door like scented candles with cool themes, plushies, and bright, colorful goodies that could lift anyone's spirit with their innocent and happy stylings. Overall, I think it's a great spot to get some really cool pieces of one's playful past or a new addition to the lifelong obsession! So whether you're a sentimental sap who needs a good reminder of simpler times, or if you have managed to maintain your imagination and enjoy some wholesome fun, then this is the place for you! All different kinds of toys and brands. I like that they have baskets and lower shelves (unlike a certain other toy store in VA Beach.) I mainly prefer the wrestling and horror figures. They also were cool enough to allow us to have one of the display cases when we wanted to purchase the whole lot one time of a certain collection. The new and used books are all mixed together on the shelves. There isn't a separate used section or an obvious way to tell which books are used until you actually pull one off the shelf and look at the price sticker. Some of the used books are in excellent condition, which is great, but you definitely have to dig around to find them among all the new books. I actually asked an employee at the front if there was a particular section where I could find the used books. He basically said, "Nope, they're all mixed in," and showed me what the sticker looks like so I'd know how to identify them. Personally, I didn't love that setup. Part of the fun of going to a used bookstore for me is knowing that I'm browsing used books and seeing what treasures I can find. Here, it felt more like shopping at a regular bookstore and occasionally discovering that a particular copy happened to be used. I would much rather have the used books separated, or at least have the store primarily consist of used books with a smaller selection of new ones. That said, if you're equally interested in new AND used books, this could actually be a great place for you because the selection is massive. They also have a trade-in/consignment-type setup where people can bring in their old books. I saw several people doing that while I was there, although I didn't personally go through the process, so I can't speak to how it works or what they offer in return. Overall, there's absolutely no shortage of books here. It just wasn't quite the used bookstore experience I was hoping for. If you enjoy digging through a huge selection and don't mind checking individual books to see whether they're new or used, you'll probably have a much better time with the setup than I did.

The store was pretty busy especially with the 20% off Presidents Day sale. The employees had to stop often to check out customers. I could tell they prioritized the paying customers. I had waited patiently and they kept apologizing for the length of my wait time. Finally I had to leave the store and get my kids so I asked them to put my items on hold which they did. When I returned I was able to check out the items I had put on hold and receive the funds for the items they purchased from me. They has purchased about 80% of the clothes I brought and offered me a fair amount. Overall, I had a great experience. They offered great customer service, a great selection of kids clothes, books and toys. The store is also very clean and organized. Everything is reasonably priced. I really enjoy selling and shopping here.

Went in 5/27/25 to trade in some collectible figures for a PS2 I was looking at, after ab 30 minutes of waiting for an appraisal the staff comes back and says my figure is worth 192 on a trade for IN STORE CREDIT (w/ 20% added for trade in Tuesday's) not knowing the true value of what I had at the time, I accepted the trade and ended up buying a PS2, memory card, warranty, and 2 PS2 games as well which ended up costing me ~300 in total; despite having a figure worth 4-500 I was given a fraction of what it was actually worth and ended up OWING them money. They then claimed that I need to remember that "they are a small business so ‍" What VGH failed to realize is that I had NO issue trading the item in to them since WITH the money I got from the trade I was going to immediately spend it back at the store meaning they would only stand to have made money on our transaction. The issue I have is VGH pulling an underhanded move like this then turning around allowing me to then spend more of my money in store (when my trade-in value was never met in the first place). TLDR: VGH lost a potential returning customer who would have given significantly more money to this company in time than what they got by cheating me out a SINGLE collectible figure. EDIT: I was also given a 3rd party PS2 controller when I bought my PS2 which is a laughable business practice.
