Not a bad seed in the Place

Beautiful new theater. Not a bad seat in the house.! Beautiful clean bathrooms. Seats are comfortable. Wish they would've given you a little more room so you could get out if you need to nice Bar . Lots of great restaurants nearby. This place is a win will be back.

Great local venue in downtown Lawrenceville that is only going to get better. Tonight, Valentines Day 2020, my wife and enjoyed some cabaret music by these very talented ladies who played some music from the band Heart.

First class in every respect! All the seats have good views of the stage. Prices are very reasonable for the excellent quality of the performances. Twice a year there are musicals and the rest of the season has good variety. Free parking in the adjacent garage. Restaurants nearby for a before-theater dinner or after performance drink. The best part is the quality of the actors and actresses and the professional performances. The Autumn, 2017 musical is Hunchback of Notre Dame and it is fantastic. The set and costumes are Amazing. Special prices for seniors and for people under 35. Different surprises on week nights, from free tacos (Tuesdays) to wine and beer(Thursdays). Matinees on weekends.

This aurora theater is a gem to the lawrenceville area. It's nestled right in downtown near the government building and all the food options. I loved the covered parking and walking up a short flight of steps to come into their side entrance. Parking is free! The aurora theater is an old church, with some of the pews still used for their snack bar table. It has a grand theater, which seats roughly around 200+, and a smaller stage area with seating around 75+ max. The grand theater has the most comfortable seats in it! This time of year, Christmas, they host trees sponsored by different companies in the community. So before you walk in to catch your show, you can view 25+ different trees in their lobby. It's a really nice set-up. They also have a full bar and the prices are not crazy at all ($9 for a double gin and sprite in a talk cup is really great). There is also a snack bar, coffee and non-alcoholic drinks. Pricing on shows isn't bad either, considering some shows they have are right off Broadway. They are currently offering a deal on a mini-season pass too where you pay $74 for 3 shows (value of $250 I believe). We went to "12 Dates of Christmas" in the smaller stage room. A little more intimate and close up. I was expecting the show to be more comedy but it was a narrative with some comedy mixed in (a chuckle here and there). I liked the part where she got people up on stage with her bc that was less scripted and more improvised. I even got called up. I think the actor was very talented but could have used more comedy in it. Otherwise a decent show. The staff was very friendly as well, and the bartender was extremely nice. Check out their website if you are close by. They have some great professional shows and it'll save you from going downtown. I know we'll be back to check out some more of their offerings.

I saw a Donna Summers show here and it was excellent! I would not recommend their Motown Christmas show.

They do great seasonal shows such as Lawrenceville Ghost Tours for Halloween or Christmas Canteen for Christmas.

Depending on where you sit, you may be very close to other people, but that is pretty typical for comedy clubs. Food quality was as expected for a comedy club. Drinks were really good and strong. The waitress was nice and came to check on us often, which we appreciated. Obviously the comedy quality will vary based on the performer, but we saw Imari Martin, who was fantastic. The opening act was great well. Overall, we had a really fun time, and we will be back. It's great to have a comedy club option in the suburbs.

I have come two more times since the last review. The first time we came to see Godfrey (sold-out…read moreshow). We were very disappointed to see how they sit random strangers with you. The table is already tiny. There's barely room for two people, so having two additional strangers sit with you and try to share a table is awkward. They need square tables with more space. I had to keep my wristlet in between my legs all night because there was no room for it on the table and one of the drinks got spilled because there's no room for four people to have food and drinks on that tiny table. Whoever the bartender was that evening also forgot to put any alcohol in the drinks cause they were just straight cranberry juice. & a waste of $! We came again last night for the Guy Torry show and the bartender was much better. The drinks were strong & great! The mystic magic cocktail was great! The place wasn't as crowded so we didn't have random strangers sitting with us. Both times Jace was our server and he was excellent. We tried the pretzel bites. They're decent but to charge five dollars for a side of queso is insane, given that their menu is very limited. The loaded fries were just ok. This is a great place when it's not a sold-out show. If it's a sold-out show make sure you bring a party of four or you're going to be with strangers unless you pay extra for the VIP and you're in the very front row where it's only two per table. Everyone working here is very friendly

We were running behind due to work schedule but got there in time for just one of the opening acts and this guy was local and FUNNNNNEEEEEEE. If anyone can give me his name in comments please do. Headliner Carl Payne did GOODT. His cadence was good, jokes well laid out, relatable and funny. We got to sit front stage with the gracious owner of the club. That was very nice! I told my granddaughter we were going to get heckled for coming in late but gratefully- a guy on the other end of the room was the target of the comediennes jokes! #whew. Happy to dodge that bullet. My granddaughter liked her food and drink. It was dimly lit so no pics of food and a flash would have DEFINITELY put a target on our heads lol. The club has a large lobby area that unfortunately we didn't get to check it out because of our tardiness. It's seemed cool. Large artwork of comedians lined the walls and a step and repeat for picture ops. Our seating was a comfortable four top. Our waitress was so very sweet in pretty challenging logistics to be a server. I was happy to have ample cash in hand to tip her generously. Even though The club was packed, The let out was easy. We had a great time and look forward to more great times at Atlanta Comedy Theater.

It's crazy that my last review of this establishment was 9 years ago!…read more I finally made my way back to this comedy theater. I purchased tickets online to see DC Curry. The tickets were accessible through my Apple wallet and worked without any issues. I arrived about 10 minutes prior to what was noted as the start time of 7pm. We were seated quickly. This place still packs the place! Note that you will be in the building like a can of sardines! They are getting all the money they can !! NOTE : there is a 2 item order minimum or a $15 surcharge per person. I would highly recommend just paying the $15 surcharge . The food and drinks are over priced for what you get . A bottle of 500ml of FUJI water is $7- Yeah that's right! The website notes you can get another bottle brand for $4, however, they automatically sell you the FUJI! I also ordered the wing basket that comes with fries. My friend ordered the quesadillas. We both agree the food was basic and nothing to recommend. As noted in my review 9 years ago- the show did NOT start on time! I would say there is no need to arrive on time . The show will not start on time. The only saving grace is that this border theater attracts the best talent! It is the only reason I will continue to patronize . Check it out knowing the following: 1. The place will be packed. You will not have any personal space 2. Food and drinks are over priced - and average at best 3. If you don't want to waste your money on the food and drinks just pay the $15 surcharge 4. If you order water, ask for the $4 water

It's about time for an updated review. I've come here many times over the years, bc I love the wit…read moreand random humor that comes from Improv. This place is certainly a must visit! I came here with my best friends to celebrate my birthday, my friend's birthday, my other friends newly published devotional and my other friend's promotion at work. This was probably my 4th time here. Parking is behind the building and they have a ton of spots with gravel parking and paved (directions might lead you to the front). The lobby has two rooms, with comfy seating, restrooms, bar (beer and wine), ticket area and a place to take group photos. Things have changed on seating here due to Covid but for the better. You can now buy a table for two, table for 4 and VIP seating. Cost ranges from $70-$90, but comes out to about $20-$45/person. Any table purchase you make comes with all the tickets. Most shows are about an hour and a half long, with one intermission for you to use the bathroom or grab drinks. A majority of the improv depends on participation from the audience, so be ready to give direction on what the skit will be like. One of the best portions of the show was when my friend Keni got asked about her Hot Air Balloon she did recently, and the Improv Actors did a "fortunately, unfortunately" sketch on it. One of the funniest things I've seen. It's always a great time when you go, and you're going to get something fairly new and unexpected every time. Some actors are much more entertaining too, as they can create comedy out of thin air. They also hold Improv classes for adults and work with children too (the host mentioned something Nickelodeon themed). Highly recommend! This was purely a friends outing, but this spot is perfect for dates too or any type of celebration.

There was also a bucket next to a question for written answers. Once the show started, saw some improv games I've never seen before, actors / actresses were pretty good. Not my style but when I feel disrespected something has to be done…read more I never checked to see reviews or anything about this school and to my surprise the feeling is shared. My wife (thank god, deals with schools and so on but last week when I went to see my daughter in practice after 1 hour or so I had something to take care of out the school and was to go back and pick up my daughter. My wife told me Lori Zamzow is the owner and I went over to let her know that my daughter would miss 2 shows on the 20th and 21st because I had booked in April a family trip to celebrate her 15th birthday. She did not even let me start talking, She ignored me and said to talk to Brooke Burgess (School Director) I said, I was told it was going to be difficult and they both looked at each other but I still went to talk to Burgess. I let her know that my daughter would be missing 2 shows me thinking is the right thing to do but nope, what a mistake, Burgess had no idea on what to do and went back to Lori Zamzow. She came over and told me about the commitment and all on the contract and I said, I understand but when the trip was made I chose the dates I did base on last years show dates (picture of last year schedule attach) She said to me that I need to cancel the trip I said I cant. told me to get my money back, I said impossible. Told me of the contract and I said I understand but I cant re-schedule this trip, ships don't leave at my convenience and I already had made a payment back in April for over 10k. At the end of the conversation I did say that the situation was making my blood boil and I took full responsibility for booking this trip thinking school would be over by the 18th but no, It did not work out that way. After almost 4 years committed to making sure this company gets paid on time, credit card on file for automatic payments and my wife taking my kid there and me after work picking her up what did Lori Zamzow do? she told Brooke Burgess like 20 min after I left the school to call me and she said, can you cancel that trip? Can you get a refund? can your reschedule? NO NO NO, this is a bully that barks because they know they have are kids there and they know how to crush them. She kicked my daughter out of: The Nativity Ballet show The NUTcracker show and all company pieces and future performances . Also, kicked her out her company beginning the next evening Nov 21st. I can understand being charged the $300 dollars If my daughter wanted to quit company, but all of the above looks very personal to me. Someone there also made a treat via email to send my account (1000% on time payments) to collections. what? Email is also attached. To my point, Bully and bark and keep talking and treating people the way you do, The only reason I don't yank my kid out of there is because from something this sad she said to me that she likes her teachers and friends. She will learn soon that when you are a paying client is true that customers are not always right, being a business owner my self, I would never treat someone like that. I told my daughter that this will make her stronger, because if for having a father that wanted to do the right thing and for this company to treat my daughter like that is unacceptable. My understanding is that many parents have pulled there kids out, I want out but my kid at 14 has no idea what a bully is, I do. I will keep supporting my kid no matter what and one last thing, care full if English is not your first language, Some there act like they cant understand you and for some sick sad reason they think is funny. Can you relate ?
