1 star is because I love the pizza here, but for nothing else. One of the worst pizza ordering experiences I've had. This is unfortunate because this was the first time I got my husband to agree to order something other than Vita Bella (his favorite). But after this, he said "never again". On Friday, we ordered a single large pizza. Half was a vegetarian combination for me, the other side was simply sausage. It was raining outside quite a bit, crappy weather- and we figured why not just order in? So anyway, we place our order and are told it will be 45-60 mins.. no problem, pretty standard! Well an hour and 15 minutes goes by, again no big deal - it's pouring after all. Our pizza shows up and our delivery guy is in a pretty crappy mood. Not friendly..pissy that my husband didn't hand his pen back right away, etc. Hands us our pizza, says nothing, and leaves. I get it - it's rainy - you don't want to be doing this. But after all, as a delivery man, this is your job. So we give him a tip over 20% to make up for the crap weather and come upstairs to eat! So excited because it's 8:30 pm at this point and we didn't eat lunch. STARVING! So we open the box...WRONG PIZZA. It is some meat lovers combination with sausage, pepperoni, ham, mushrooms, Yuck! Usually we'd just eat what was delivered...but unfortunately this was so gross we just couldn't. Again, starving at this point, we call Aurelios just to let them know about the mistake, hoping we can get our corrected pizza. The man who answered the phone seemed like he could care less about it. Asked what we ordered...then what we received...then what we want to order again. We placed our second order and he says he'll get a new pizza out to us. Never once says sorry, never once apologizes for the inconvenience...nothing. So we assume the pizza will be rushed since it was a mistake...WRONG. We wait another hour for our pizza that arrived soggy and not even warm. We handed the wrong pizza back to the delivery driver (the same grumpy driver we had earlier) who has the nerve to say "ya know, you coulda just had the pizza for free"...in the snottiest tone ever. My husband explained we wouldn't have eaten it and it would've been a waste and to give it to someone who would appreciate it. The delivery guy leaves without saying a word and that was that. I am so put off by this whole experience. Not only did we wait 2.5 hours for a pizza that was less than stellar....we had rude customer service all the while and never even received an apology. I didn't expect a refund but a rushed, corrected pizza wouldn't have hurt the cause. Guess we will steer clear of this place and their grumpy employees in the future and stick to Vita Bella. read more

Good pizza but VERY VERY over priced. The prices are not listed on their main website, however, Google shows a menu list with much cheaper prices. I ordered a large cheese pizza, wings, and a salad for delivery assuming it was the prices I seen online. I was not given a total over the phone (I should have asked) but when the guy arrived it was $50 before tip!! I would never have ordered this food for $50. Please be aware the prices are not correct on their site and when I called to confirm was told they are 8 year old prices listed and they can't update them.... My favorite pizza around! I loved Aurelio's for a long long time. There used to be one in Bolingbrook decades ago and that was our teen hang out until it burnt to the ground... I go to the Plainfield location in tornado alley, they never let me down. The sauce is phenomenal and I always order my pies with extra sauce. read more

In Chicago if your not going to man up with deep dish pizza you better do something pretty amazing. And Aurelio's delivers, as in they're pretty amazing, oh and they deliver too. They have a sweet sauce that seems to be hit or miss with the masses. However if you love it, you LOVE IT. They also feature a variety of specialty pizzas such as BBQ Chicken, BLT, Hawaiian, and White. IF you're lucky enough to live near the Plainfield location then get your butt over there for buffet nights (Mon-Wed 5-8pm). For 6 bucks it's all you can eat with all the afore mentions choices and then some. Aurelio's is a comfortable place with great Italian decor. The staff is attentive and the food is great. read more

I'm a fan!! We came here after being disappointed by Nabby's who claimed to have pizza but in reality they only carried "pizza puffs". *puh* I had a hankering and the only thing that would suffice would be pizza. We arrived on a Saturday evening and were seated right away (and in a booth no less, which is my preferred seating arrangement in most eating establishments). Our waitress got to us right away although she wasn't the most pleasant person. Not sure if it was us because she was quite chatty and jovial with the table next to us. I ordered their gluten free small cheese pizza. I'm not really following a GF diet, I just occasionally order it. Mainly because pizza does quite a number on me. Mostly I look quite swollen everywhere afterwards, like I'd spent all night crying over the fact that I can never get Mumford and Sons tickets. Anyways, It came out relatively fast. The only thing was that all the corner edges on it were burnt (insert sad face here). But besides that their GF crust wasn't "chewy" like most other GF options. the food is good... i ordered a pizza and a salad. i'm a vegetarian, so i specifically checked off that there would be no pepperoni or ham on the salad. when the salad arrived, it had ham on it. my boyfriend called back to politely let the staff know that our salad had not come in the way we'd asked for it. he was met with attitude, saying that the salad order only came in as no pepperoni, so she wasn't sure what we wanted us to do. she got her manager, who also gave us attitude and claimed we had ordered it wrong. i have a screenshot of the order. i did not order it wrong. the manager suggested i pick the ham off the salad. as a vegetarian, this is offensive to me. if human meat came on a salad, would you like to pick it off or eat around it? either way, we asked that we please get a new salad. with hesitation, they did finally bring a new salad. it was disheveled and sloppy when it arrived. i no longer feel comfortable ordering from this location anymore. read more

We called for pick-up tonight, a large pizza and breadsticks. My Hubby went to pick it up, loved that there was a drive-thru for pick-up but went in because I asked him to check it out. This is the best Aurelio's in the area BY FAR! They have the best staff, every single one of the people who work there are wonderful! Attentive and relaxed with great customer service along with four cheese fried ravioli (which only certain Aurelio's have) and excellent garlic bread with cheese! Real cheese on the garlic bread by the way, not a piece of sliced mozzarella cheese slapped on some bread. And they have an awesome cookie skillet that they top with ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate chips...now let's discuss the pizza....perfect thin crust baked to the absolute right crunchiness! Love their tomato sauce (sweeter than some but not too sweet!) and the cheese is dare I say the best ratio of cheese to crust of any pizza joint! Not too much sauce where it oozes out and plops on the plate and not too dry....absolute perfection. read more

We really like Aurelio's pizza but this Plainfield location continues to be inconsistent. I ordered two big pizzas and spent $60. One was cooked fine the other was not cooked all the way and I added some toppings and they hardly put any on. I wish this location would do some quality control. There are lots of young people there in back and it seems like this location needs to go over the basics and be more consistent. read more

Pretty disappointed. I placed my order ahead for pickup. When I got there I sat there and waited at the counter for the owner to help people that arrived after I did... then to find out after getting home that my pizza was soggy, wrong breadsticks, that for some reason costs $7.50 for four of them... and I'm guessing it's because those are filled with cheese... which I do not order.. they also overcharged me on both of my pizzas as well and of course I didn't realize all of this until I got home... horrible 1st experience. . And will not be going back as I paid over $30 for food that I couldn't eat any of.. normally I wait to write a review until I've had at least two bad experiences from the same place but these people literally messed up every single thing.. and to know that it was the owner who was doing this is beyond me... read more

Opened the box and it was fucked. This pizza was not fully cut or cut straight. I'm very frustrated bc I had to pay extra for the delivery limit and had to get extra cheese and it just was awful. Once I cut it, something terrible happened. The middle of the pizza started to look like someone ate the cheese and spit it out. TRAGIC. There was also a small hair in the pizza. Yuck. 2 bad experiences in 2 weeks. I ordered $50 worth of food for delivery. It took them 2.5 hours - meaning all the food was old and pizza gross. Everytime we called to ask where the food was, we were told it was "on it's way".. until they finally admitted they couldnt find my house. Do they care we paid full price for old late food? This week, Aurelio's got its 3rd strike. First, I ordered a standard pizza.... it was OK, but for what I paid I'd expected better. The 2nd time, I went with a 'stuffed' pizza. Stuffed pizza being served in a standard box is the 1st red flag... that should be a LOT thicker to be stuffed! I wish I'd taken a picture when I stuck my finger next to a slice and it went to the first knuckle on my index finger.... there's just not a lot there. its a thicker crust, with the sauce on top. Please don't disrespect stuffed pizza by calling this one. Not only did that come in a standard box, but it didnt have any extra cardboard under it, and no foil on top. This lead to a terrible paradox: do I hold the box by the edges, and feel the pizza slowly tear through the center, or support the middle, and squish the top of the pizza to the inside of the lid? I ended up doing both by the time I got home. EVERY other place I've had stuffed pizza from had an extra piece of cardboard underneath and layed some foil on top for exactly these reasons. It's always been a given and nobody cut these corners. *SIGH* STRIKE THREE - I ordered a thick crust pizza, with sausage, pepper and onion. The sauce tastes like nothing more than tomato paste, from the can. I've made a lot of pizza on my own, and this tasted like straight up paste. The dough (lets face it, you taste the DOUGH and the SAUCE) was just..... not flavorful at all. I'm really disappointed that this place can't get the job done. From my bedroom window I can see this location, but I'll just have to look past it to other places. It's sad that the place that is walking distance won't get the job done. Its not the worst pizza I've had, but I can go to little sleazers and get a pizza that has a tastier crust and considerably thicker crust for 5 bux. The same pizza here is over $20 and actually a little bit worse. Next time, I'm going to hop in the car and drive a little further to nick & vitos, make my own from stuff from jewel, or get the same meal for 1/4 the price from lil sleazers. Ordered two pizzas and we are so disappointed. The sauce sucked it tasted like canned tomato sauce...way too much cheese. The crust tasted like raw dough. The veggie was the worst pizza I've ever tasted. We called to check on the price they charged $30 plus dollars for one pizza!!! We were told we were charged correctly:( I feel the service sucked. They should of made a suggestion on how to order the pizza as a veggie then extra toppings as needed...instead they over charged us by selling us a cheese and $2 for every topping!!! We love this place! The pizza is great and the service is superb! The staff is always extremely courteous and quick, our order has never been wrong, and even though they quote somewhere close to an hour, they are ALWAYS here in less than 30 minutes. We had Aurelios at our daughter's birthday party. An awful storm was raging outside (pouring rain, high winds, intermittent hail) and they still managed to somehow get 8 pizzas to us at the birthday facility in less than an hour and were extremely pleasant about doing so. I stopped in to try their pizza. They have a lot of really good choices on the menu, so I asked for opinions. The people I spoke to said they both like the thin crust, so I ordered a small thin crust pepperoni and onion pizza. Then I asked if there are any exceptional apps or sides I should try and they both said that the toasted ravioli is great. They were right! I got the 4 cheese toasted ravioli, it comes with a great dipping sauce! The pizza is really good. The sauce is excellent, not too sweet and not too tangy. I was very happy with the pizza, it's probably the best I have found in Plainfield. There are a few other things on the menu I need to go back to try and I will be there again soon! read more

We ordered a couple of pizzas here in our pursuit of amazing thin crust in the Romeoville area. The cheese pizza at first glance looked like something I would expect to find in a school cafeteria...if only it was that good...probably the worst cheese pizza we ever ordered...which is hard because really, how exactly does someone who makes a living with Pizza mess up a simple cheese Pizza. The other Pizza was one of their specialty pizzas...which should be what they do best. On the plus side I didn't want to throw it in the trash after tasting it...but the crust lacked any semblanceof crispness as it was logged with grease in the areas that tasted cooked...while the other pieces were simply greasy dough. The ingredients would be better from any of your national chains and the price would have been more in line with the quality. Do yourself a favor and stick with Michael's or rosati's read more

We ordered from the catering menu for our son's first birthday this past weekend. All we have to say is amazing. From the call to order the food to the delivery to serving our guests at the party was great. The food arrived on time and was still steaming hot coming out of the boxes. We received so many compliments from the guests about how good the food was. The biggest hit was the pasta with red sauce. It was so good even the picky eaters enjoyed it. This has become our favorite go-to dinner place! We just realized a few months ago that there was actually a dine-in restaurant (always thought it was just carry out). I grew up eating Aurelio's as a kid and their pizza is one of my top two (I also have a soft spot for Papa's pizza in woodridge). It's kid friendly and cozy inside. Just experienced a great customer service experience from this location. My wife called and ordered two pizzas and we were charged appropriately for the pizzas that arrived. We had guests from out of town that were really excited for a "Chicago style" pizza. One pizza wasn't as my wife expected/believed she ordered (thin crust arrived instead of stuffed). I called the store and they sent a stuffed pizza as soon as it baked, free of charge. In my opinion they went above and beyond since they technically didn't have to send us another pizza, especially at no charge. Really appreciate them giving our guests the experience they hoped for. Big thanks to our driver and the woman we spoke with at the restaurant. It's nice to see people go the extra mile. Had a great lunch in Plainfield with my daughter and grandson. The place is great and the staff terrific and helpful. I came for the meatball sandwich I had at other locations and I was not disappointed. It was great and don't forget to ask for cheese on it too. It's so big I had to take half home. My daughter ordered the buffet, which I'll definitely order next time. It had salad, chicken and potatoes, pasta, and three types of pizza, and even two kinds of desert along with vanilla and chocolate soft serve.
