I'm disappointed with my recent order from Giordano's. I paid nearly $100 for two pizzas, and unfortunately, neither order was what I expected. I ordered a deep-dish pizza with double cheese and double sausage. I was told they could accommodate the extra cheese, but the double sausage was not done. When we opened the box, my son immediately commented that it looked as though the box had been dropped--the pizza had slid completely to one side. Although the box itself was still very warm, the middle of the pizza was only room temperature. The cheese also did not seem noticeably different from a regular pizza despite paying for the extra cheese. I also ordered a thin-crust cheese pizza for my granddaughter. Instead, it arrived with onions, peppers, and mushrooms--ingredients she did not order but ate it to be polite. I realize mistakes happen, and I don't expect perfection. But when spending nearly $100 on two pizzas, I do expect the order to be correct and the pizza to arrive hot and properly prepared. I also noticed another customer mentioned receiving a pizza that was doughy and didn't seem fully cooked. The manager responded that they had made 300 pizzas that day and that this was the only complaint. But having only one complaint doesn't necessarily mean there wasn't a problem. Many customers simply don't want to be confrontational or take the time to complain. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I don't feel this order was worth nearly $100. I hope Giordano's will take these concerns seriously and work on quality control and order accuracy. The one bright spot was the family chopped chicken salad. It was quite expensive, but it was delicious and probably the best part of the order. read more

Delicious! This place came highly recommended and we see why. We ordered a deep dish, a thin crust and the see dish was the star. Not being from Chicago we were traveling and gave this a shot. It's amazing and honestly cannot be compared to NY pizza. They are just completely different styles of pizza you cannot really put them in the same category. Apples and oranges. The deep dish crust is what makes this stellar. Crispy and decadent. It's pleasurable cutting the pizza and the cheese so thick and how it melts, almost like cutting the yolk of an over easy egg. Pizza is decent but they always lie about the wait times. Whatever time they say, add 20-30min to it. They are constantly behind. I understand places get busy, but why not just adjust your wait times and so you don't have a line of people waiting for pickups. I was visiting friends and family in Naperville IL from LA and went to see a friend that's in Joliet who really wanted me to try a legit Chicago deep dish pizza and both of us literally couldn't even eat one full slice between us because it was disgusting. Literally disgusting. Soggy crust, only like five pieces of sausage, bland, no flavor and cold upon delivery. Just the grossest pizza I've ever had. We just threw the entire pizza away. Twice the server, who was very nice, said it would be another 10 minutes. 1 hour and 10 minutes later and we were presented with an underbaked deep dish pizza. Only the very bottom was browned, the inside was doughy and gummy. Management never stepped up. Traveled to Chicago and sought out Chicago style pizza only to be disappointed in Giordano's. Admittedly, there's a schism in the group about this reading. First of all, we had the sampler platter. It was fine. Typical frozen food type items, such as mozzarella, triangles, chicken, poppers, and cheesy bread. Everyone enjoyed their stuffed pizza. I don't get the big deal, so I had a chopped salad, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I elected to have the lemon vinaigrette in lieu of the honey mustard. My family and I are regular customers of Giordano's. When our stuffed pie was served we immediately noticed the hard crust. The server called the manager. When he walked up he just stared and I said you can see the pizza. The manager said he has to cook the pizza otherwise it would be raw. This has nothing to do with the nearly burnt crust & split crust!! I informed him we never received a pizza in this condition and he said sometimes it happens and continued to debate. He never offered to make a new one or any other resolution. All four TVs had baseball playing & when asked if he could change the TV near us he said he doesn't know about that. Awesome pizza and salads . Pizza always cooked as asked for ! Usually pick up , but have been in restaurant also . Always friendly and courteous staff. I live in middle of Plainfield & minooka, so Usually split between both. But now with minooka branch closed , makes for an easy choice ! Appetizers have also been decent. Have had cheese triangles and calamari,both were very good. Only complaint would be exiting south to rt.59 is No fun. But I will deal with that for a well cooked pie . When I pulled up in front of Giordano's this afternoon I placed my Mom's Handicapped Placard in the window. The young lady who was the hostess must have noticed. She held the door open for my 95 year old mom who needs to use a walker. We were seated at the closest table too. Our server, Tasha, noticed the gauze on my arm an asked if I was just at the doctor. I said yes we were and had bloodwork done. She brought out a basket of warm bread for us to nibble on while our order was being prepared. Mom only want soup, which was delicious minestrone, I ordered the lunch size stuffed sausage pizza, which was perfectly cooked and exceptionally delicious. These two ladies (I didn't get the name of the Hostess) went above and beyond to accommodate us. Will definitely return. Thank you so much ladies! read more

I have always had great food and friendly service with nice staff. Food is good and never rushed.

So this was my first ever trip to Giordano's. Honestly incredible! Our server was phenomenal to ensure that I got enough food. Also gave great recommendations. The pizza is huge and we definitely had leftovers. If you are looking for a fun night, come and get some deep dish! It does take awhile to cook the deep dish so decide quick what you want. However once you order just sit back and enjoy a cold beer. I look forward to returning to this place on my next trip to Plainfield! read more

As others have said, the customer service from the manager is extremely poor. He would rather debate with you, than make things right. I ordered a pizza for my bday and was given a $5 coupon. Online, my order had one number, and when I went to pay he overcharged me quite a bit and refused to honor the amount I had at checkout. Wow! So glad we stopped in to this restaurant while passing through the area. We ordered our deep dish pepperoni/sausage pizza during our drive so we could eat and continue driving. Once we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly hostess. We told her we had ordered ahead and she immediately knew our name and that we had ordered in advance and seated us. Upon being seated our amazing waitress, Haley, came to our table and took our drink order and she too knew we had ordered in advance and asked if we would like to order anything in addition to our pizza. Haley quickly returned with our beverages and told us our pizza would be out in six minutes, which it was! Our pizza looked delicious and was perfectly baked and the crust was a golden brown and was piping hot as well. The pizza was loaded with sausage, pepperoni and cheese, which was oozing from within the pizza. That pizza did not disappoint and satisfied our yearning for authentic Chicago deep dish pizza. The restaurant was very clean and the restroom even smelled clean We noticed that all the staff were busy working hard and the other customers in the restaurant appeared to all be taken well care of by their servers. The food is absolutly hands down, the best. I have exlerienced a pizza which i waited 45 mins for (normal for a deep dish). It was all wrong, butthe manager took care of it and corrected it. Thank you. The person taking the order could not have een more rude. I went ba k tonight, she, again , could. Ot be more dismissive and rude. I notice on the receipt the name said manager, but she is not the nanager. I heard of the tales of kid crap and how to break up with someone, but when i tried to pay, i was told the anount, to put my card in the reader and walks away. She is rude and dismissive. Wasn't sure what to expect because the only type of Chicago style deep dish pizza I've had was from Uno's Pizzeria which I know is a sad comparison. I ordered the individual 6" pizza with veggies and it was more than enough. The dough was chewy and delicious and the CHEESE omg I've never had cheese this glorious before. Wings as an appetizer were perfect the thin crust pizza which to us just a regular pizza was amazing not a fan of the deep dish just not our cup of tea but overall it was delicious and the server was such a doll! Long time fan, and this location does everything right. Great staff, good bartenders, and really fast (considering the pizza takes 45 minutes if you get stuffed). Ordered my pizza in advance this time, game changer. Tried the cheese curds also - pretty solid! Marinara isn't thick enough for curds but the flavor is there. This was the 1st, not last time I will enjoy this deliciousness! I met my husband there on Saturday March 25 around 1:30pm. I had signed up for their rewards club so I received a free tomato bruschetta $7.95. It was good but needed more balsamic glaze and way more basil! We both had their 'starter' house salads $7.90 for both w/ ranch dressing- the salads were good as was the ranch dressing. I ordered a small thin super veggie $18.00 and substituted green olives for the blk- I liked that they didn't charge me to do so- it's stupid when restaurants do that. It was delicious and I had two more meals from it- their pizza gets better each day- yea to leftovers that don't taste terrible!! My husband ordered a small stuffed special $19.75 and an iced tea $2.75. There deep dish crust is almost biscuit like as far as flakiness- I liked it but he likes the dish part of deep dish and not so much the crust- I'm a crust girl so I gladly ate some of his. He agreed it gets better the next two days. The only slight snafu was when I showed the waiter the email stating that I joined the club and was entitled to a free appetizer, he said 'we don't accept it unless it's printed- I'll have to ask my manager'. Definitely a Chicago deep dish pizza experience you need. The cheese curds were pretty good, I added some Italian herbs and a dash of red pepper to the marinara because it was a little bland as a dipping option and it was much better. The drinks weren't the best, so I wouldn't recommend getting anything fancier than a beer to drink. The Chicago classic was okay. The spinach and garlic pizza we got was our favorite! This is purely a review of the location. Since moving to Plainfield this has been our pizza place. For the past two years they've become incapable of having the pizza ready at the time they say it will be ready. Every. Time. I have to wait. My solution was to then show up 10 minutes late. Sometimes it works but usually no dice, "sorry it's not ready yet" (though I only have to wait 5 minutes). I swear there's a note on my record, "make this dude wait". The last straw: I try online ordering @ 2:00pm for pickup at 6:50pm. At 4:00 I realize that's going to be too late so I check the email and it says "if you need to change or order call the store directly at (phone #)". I call the store to change the time. Lady says "no problem 6:50 to 5:50". I asked if she needs my name or order and she says "nope you're the only order at 6:50". 5:50. I show up. I'm not made to wait though, this time there's no order at all! The manager gets involved. He finds the online order but tells me he's "sorry the employee told me she could change the order because they don't have the ability to update online orders. He did offer to immediately make the $60 order which I could wait 45 minutes for or put a discount credit on my account.
