Ats-a-Nice Pizza in Romeoville: A Heartbreaking Decline After 30+ Years of Loyalty We've been loyal patrons of Ats-a-Nice Pizza for over 30 years, but after our visit on January 4, 2025, it's safe to say that we will not be returning. This once-beloved establishment has taken a sharp turn under new management, and sadly, the quality, service, and overall experience have declined so drastically that it no longer resembles the restaurant we cherished for decades. Our group of four included two elderly individuals, both of whom had fond memories of dining here. Unfortunately, those memories were tarnished last night. The food quality has plummeted: pizzas were sparsely topped, sauces were noticeably skimpy, and the signature Paulie's original thin crust--always a highlight--was undercooked. The BBQ chicken pizza was particularly disappointing; the chicken tasted rubbery, as though it had been sitting out far too long, leaving us feeling unwell after eating it. To make matters worse, when we went to settle the substantial bill, one of my companions attempted to use a Restaurant.com discount coupon--a program this restaurant has participated in for years. Instead of honoring it or politely informing us of a policy change, the waiter returned with a message from the manager, accusing my companion of being a "scammer." This baseless accusation was not only insulting but deeply upsetting, especially given the circumstances. When we asked to speak with the manager to clarify, they refused to come out of the back, leaving the waiter--who was visibly uncomfortable--to handle the fallout. This behavior felt cowardly and disrespectful, especially toward customers who have supported the establishment for decades. If the new management has decided to discontinue participation in community programs like Restaurant.com, they owe it to their patrons to communicate that clearly and respectfully, rather than resorting to accusations and hiding from accountability. Furthermore, the current state of the food does a disservice to the legacy of Paulie and the original spirit of Ats-a-Nice Pizza. We left feeling disappointed, disrespected, and heartbroken. Losing customers who have stood by your restaurant for over three decades is not a sustainable way to run a business. Until this management demonstrates respect for its patrons and a commitment to restoring the quality and service that once made this place special, we'll be taking our business elsewhere. read more

Wow. Talk about a huge disappointment. Stopped in on a Monday afternoon/ early evening. Granted they were slow as would be expected so usually the food, especially in a pizza place, is not as good as as when thet are slamming on a Friday night. The product was likely the WORST pizza I have ever had. Each component from the crust to the sauce to the toppings rated from 0 to 1 at best. Combined there was no synergy, bland blah and just not good. I would have to say based on the reviews it might just be an unlucky day for me but surely they're is no way that I would ever set foot in this establishment again. Plesse note it wasn't bad in any way (old ingredients or close to spoiled nothing like that) it just wasn't any good. Honestly it wasn't . Wished I could have posted a better review. Never again, today one of my employees made an online order, she waited over an hour and no food. She called to see where her order is. She was told they are not delivering here because a person by the name of Dominic owed them money. She paid by debt card, when she checked her bank the 20 dollar order was taken out of her account. So in other words they stole her money. This young lady works very hard for her money. I work at fairly large place and will be spreading the word to everyone on what At's A Nice place did. read more

We found the food to be very good. The server was able to give us great recommendation for our meal. We ordered pizza and chicken parmigiano. There was so much food we had to take home about 1/2. The owner was so helpful, he personally call a friend to give us some insight into Lewis University flight program and how to getting around the city. We were looking for a pizza place for our son's 5th birthday. I called ahead to ask if they were family friendly, and they said yes. Sure enough, the manager and staff treated us well (all 11 of us).
