The pizza is super greasy, but I really like it! They have an excellent thin crust. I will say that it is a bit expensive, but it is filling and we always have a bunch of leftovers. This is my go to restaurant for gluten-free pizza. I love getting their Hawaiian pizza and their Baked Potato pizza. My fiance and I also like their antipasto salad. They also can make fresh meatballs for their pasta per request. Just be willing to wait a little longer for fresh meatballs. if I were to rate only their carryout service, they would get a five. Unfortunately, their table service is a little lacking. When my fiance and I ate in the restaurant, we felt rushed to finish. We weren't even offered coffee and dessert at the end of our meal. The waitress just gave us our check and high tailed it out of there. We were eating dinner at around 8ish, and they didn't close until 10. Why the hurry? The food itself is great. My husband and I love it here. We always get the antipasto salad for two, it comes with incredible rolls (i'm a breadaholic lol) and really delicious salad, and then we get the sausage pizza with mild peppers. We've also had their italian food, i get spaghetti and meatballs with extra marinara, yum! Best of all, they have a dinner buffet, I think it is Mon-Thurs, call and check. This is the best idea ever, because a) you can sample all their food; b) they are right next to the Marcus Cinema and people can easily go right to the buffet and leave in time for the movie, don't have to worry about crowds or timing of food!. I used to go to Aurelio's with my grandparents when I was a kid! I loved the pizza because of the sauce! Now that I'm an adult, I'm so excited to find an Aurelio's by my house! Food is not the greatest, not a lot of variety and you can tell food has been sitting there all day. Food buffet hours are 11-2pm. We arrived at around 1:45 and waitress warned us we only had "9 minutes" before they started putting food away. The waitress then interrupted our already short lunch to ask if wanted any last minute desserts. We responded no, instead of waitress walking to the back to let staff know we were done, she shouted " OK SHUT IT DOWN!" Definitely not coming back here. You get what you pay for i guess!!! My family has come to Aurelio's for over 10 years now. We have never been thrilled with the service by the wait staff. I'm not sure if it's family owned but they all seem to be a little gruff or rough around the edges. Not bubbly or upbeat (when you are a waiter or waitress and you rely primarily on tips, sell yourself). It's conveniently located next to marcus and always worked out well to go before or after a movie. After last night's service I'm not going back to their Addison location. - we sat on the patio on the side of the restaurant. We were sat next to a group of guys smoking. Plenty of other empty tables yet you sit is next to a smoker when we are about to eat? Gross! And smoking is still allowed at restaurants?? - the young waitress, Angie, came over and said "you ready?" Not do you have any questions? Do you Need more time.... - Not once did she or anyone else refill our drinks until she brought our check.... it's a little late for that now. - When ordering my pasta her response "soup and salad?" I was like we get both now? "No pick one!" Brings out the pasta and I asked doesn't this still come with Garlic Bread. She then informed me you had to ask for it. I've never been told that before or if I didn't ask could the waitress just ask and confirm if I wanted it or not?? Then we asked for two boxes. For some reason it took close to 10 minutes then why wouldn't you bring the check at the same time. Service was just horrible!! We thought about letting management know but figured they all have been pretty rude for years. This was the final straw. Umm this was a Radom spot my girlfriend selected and recommend for a dinner date with our kids, a couple of weeks ago. When we entered the building and the waitress was walking Us to our table, we walked past what looks to be a private room area and I saw a lady Changing her child's Diaper on the table. But I kept walking and we were seated in a total different area. It was pretty cold inside and the food was okay. My friend ordered pizza and it looked nasty. She didn't like it. My chicken salad did not look fresh. The Only thing good about the food was our appetizers. There weren't many customers dining in. Customer services was okay, I guess. I have been eating Aurelios for over 50 years. My parents toted me around as an infant as Aurelios is all they would eat. I literally cut my "pizza" teeth on their pizza. Over the years, depending on where I lived I've tried multiple locations. The Original location, Crete, Hammond In., Naperville, Oakbrook Terrace, Arlington Heights, Geneva, and most recently our new location is Addison. I consider myself to be an Aurelios loyalist. Through the years I've had my share of so/so pizzas from various locations. Must say however that Addison Aurelios has never failed. After 12-15 visits now not a single issue. Their consistency is unparalleled. Todays pizza 11/26/19 was by far the best in 50 years. Perfect crust, amount of sauce, perfectly proportioned toppings, and lightly browned. I've literally consumed 100's of Aurelios pizzas over the years. Todays was a hall of famer. Pizza aside, Vito is a great host, cordial and a pleasure to talk to. He has his Addison location running on all cylinders. Congrats guys, you served me the single best pizza I've ever had today. Myself and my family thank you. Worth every penny and maybe more. We paid ahead of time and we were told to drive in the back and they would come out and when we called and place the pizza in our trunk. The pizza was very hot when we picked it up and that was the highlight of the pie. This pizza was not up to their usual standard with having been a customer for over 30 years at the one in Oak Brook Terrace. The crust was the only firm part of the pizza and the top swam in piles of grease. This was not a good dining experience and the order taker was not as nice as he could of been. For the cost of this pizza I expected way more for an extra large pizza with one ingredient and costing $29. We live far away and it was supposed to be a special treat ordering from a family favorite from years ago. Maybe they just don't realize that all the competition in the area now might be their downfall considering their price point and the poor quality pizza. Thin crispy flaky crust-perfectly cooked sausage-the cheese is like a baked extra sort of parm maybe on the top-sauce is spot on! It is by far the BEST pizza ever!! We went months without going out to eat at the beginning of the pandemic. It's such a pleasure to get out to eat on their beautiful patio. The food is good; the patio is beautiful and tables spread out; the employees wear masks over both their mouth AND nose and we see them disinfecting tables after people leave. And, unfailingly, everyone is nice and enjoyable to be around. Since we have started venturing out again, we have tried a restaurant or two that we won't go back to because we were not comfortable; we have scoped a couple out before entering and left; but we have now been to Aurelio's 4 times and are planning to bring my parents next week. read more

Went here for dinner, wanted to try something other than pizza or pasta. It was a nice summer night. We sat outside on a great patio. I ordered the italian sausage. It wasnt a sandwich, which was even better. There must have been 4 links cut in half with some of the best green peppers I ever had. We love Aurelio's. We have been eating their pizza for 40 years. They have the only gluten free pizza that my friend can eat and not get sick. I recently held a birthday party here in the back room. The server was very attentive and the drinks were refilled promptly. It was a great experience. Reserving the party and paying was a breeze. You can even bring in your own cake. I didn't think much of this place when passed by the outside of it. It's in a strip mall and does little to draw attention to itself. I even stopped in to get carry out here first , and didn't see how cool this place was. Once I stepped fully inside , It's charmingly cheesy decor hit me full force. They try to pull off a 1940's Italian neighborhood outdoor cafe feel , complete with gates , vines and lampposts. This is definitely not one of the trendiest places around, but at least it's not boring. There is a cool looking outdoor cafe , looked pretty nice but I never dined there. I have to say I'm not a fan of the pizza , the thin crust isn't bad , but they put too much cheese and sauce for my taste. It is alright though , I've just had better. The wife and kid on the other hand really like it , the wife even said it's the best yet in the area.What I do like ; the fried calamari (good) , the baked clams (very good) , the minestrone soup (good) , the Chicken Vesuvio (good), and the Meatball sandwich (good). There is also a lunch buffet , maybe even a dinner buffet (I'm not sure) , I never had it. I am not the biggest expert on Italian (Olive Garden is probably the Italian place I hit the most) , but this place is great for family's , they have good to very good food , friendly staff , and a Gigantic menu . So from the outside this place doesn't look too interesting and it is kind of hidden, but once you eat there, you will be back for more! I have only gone there for their dinner and brunch buffets (cause I'm fat like that), and they are delicious!! We are actually going there for their Easter brunch on Sunday! YUM! They have a salad bar, usually two different kinds of soup, pastas, chicken, sausage and peppers, about four different kinds of pizzas and a bunch of desserts!! I usually get only a small salad and skip the soup all together to save more room for the alfredo!! Their alfredo pasta is SOOO good!!! Everything is good really! And the desserts, they have the typical dry Italian cookies and cakes mixed with moist and delicious cheesecake bites and Rice Krispie treats! YUM!! If you love good quality buffets loaded with delicious Italian items...then head here and be prepared to unbutton your pants! **Note...after eating here on Easter Sunday, I realized that they up their brunch price from about $11.00 to $16.00 just because it was for Easter! I went for the everything pizza, which had a generous amount of both toppings and cheese. The only deterrent here is the services - it's mega slow. We had to flag down our waiter to place our order. Our extended family all went here for the buffet during the week. We had the private room and we all got the buffet. About 30 of us. The pizza was very good. The rest of the food was average. The desserts were all less than desirable. We were over charged for the tip. They added 20% gratuity on top of the tax for terrible service .....for a buffet. It was impossible to get a drink refill. The server was not around 90% of the time. I think this place is known for having bad service and charging 20% tip automatically for small groups too. When my sister called to ask about being over charged, the owner was extremely rude and told her that she and our family were to never come back! This was out of line and totally unwarranted. The other servers seemed attentive to their tables but our server just was not present. We ended up having to ask another server for our drinks . On my search for the perfect pizza, Aurelio's fell a little short. It wasn't BAD, it just didn't blow my mind. The pepperoni and sausage were both really good. The cheese was really fresh too. I just think that the execution of all the ingredients together is what didn't do it for me. The crust was decent...it could have used a little more flavor or crisp to make it awesome, the sauce was really sweet, and the cheese was kind of plain, so when you throw it all together, it was just okay. We also got the pizza bread and the bruschetta, and neither were that great. The "bruschetta" had good bread and oil, but the tomato, celery (what the hell is celery doing on bruschetta?!?), and melted mozz topping was just no good. Meh. read more

My "usual" pizza joint closed and in my great search for a pizza joint in my area, I found an Aurelio's. I was super exciting to order from an Aurelio's (a Southside favorite) from a joint on the North-ish-side!! I ordered my usual an 18" thin sausage-pepperoni and an order of tomato bread. MAANNN I was disappointed! I thought about putting them on my "list of bad places", but alas I decided to order my usual from the joint, again. Success!! The first time, the pizza was soggy and very unappetizing however, the second was crispy, done to perfection and AWESOME!! The tomato bread (my fave), on the first order, had chopped tomatoes and tasted just plain yucky. Did they forget the garlic??? The second order of tomato bread was great!! sliced tomatoes and great cheesy garlicy taste...YUM. I would've given it 5 stars, but there was no marinera sauce with the tomato bread...booooo. So the only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because the food was good but, the service was horrible. First we walk in the hostess says we can't sit outside because not everyone in our party was 21 which would be understandable of about a month prior my family came with the same number of people same ages and they sat outside no problem. Waitress came and said its ok there is adults so we headed outside then the hostess came with an attitude and said I choose where you sit. Then they messed up my nephews order which wasn't a big deal but then they bring some desert and said here this is for you guys because we messed up with the pasta. Aurelio's has always been a favorite pizza of mine since I discovered it 20+ years ago in Lombard - when they had a lunch pizza buffet. And when I found one in Addison - I was thrilled ... it was definitely convenient, has a cute atmosphere when you're inside, a cute outdoor patio area and has always had consistently good food. However, its prices have gotten a little outrageous for pizzas given the competition in the neighborhood and community ... and I'm not talking Pizza Hut and Little Caesars. When it cost me over $40 (not including tip) to have an 18-inch, three ingredient thin crust pizza delivered a mile away, I put the brakes on it. Cannot justify that price for a pizza when I can go out for a nice dinner at the same price for two people. I understand small, local businesses are having a difficult time and that's why I try to support them as much as I can, but they also need to be realists and recognize that continuing customers at some point are going to say it's hard to justify - when a pizza starts being deemed as an extravagance, that's when I realize I won't be back for a very long time. read more
