So.... I had to run an errand up in Wood Dale today, and opted to try a new-to-me place - The Pizza Kitchen in Georgetown Square. I ordered my usual 10" cheese and sausage, and let me just say, it was amazing! Crunchy crust, savory but not too acidic sauce, plenty of perfectly spiced sausage, and a good amount of quality cheese, all cooked just right. Lori's very friendly service and conversation definitely added to the delightful experience. Stopped by the pizza kitchen after visiting the archery shop. Been here before but only for a slice, this time we had a whole pizza.... The Popeye but added sausage week done. For a change of pace, we ordered a "Chicago Style Pan" pizza from our favorite pizza restaurant, The Pizza Kitchen, LLC. (I'm specifically referring to their Chicago Style Pan (CSP) pizza since they also offer Pan Crust and Stuffed Pan.) Their CSP is the closest to the famous pan pizza you are all familiar with. (If you've seen my past reviews of Pizza Kitchen, LLC I have reviewed their Thin Crust. It's my favorite thin crust pizza in DuPage County.) We ordered a 14" sausage, green pepper and black olives pizza. There are 4 areas I will discuss that I hope will convey why I think this pizza is superior to the famous guy's. First is the crust. The crust was perfectly baked to a golden color (see photo) and unlike many pan pizzas that are rushed through the oven, the crust was baked all the way through. I've often had pan pizzas where you the dough isn't quite baked throughout especially where the horizontal crust meets the vertical wall. I think you know what I mean. The crust was solid and vertical edge gave a nice "karunch" when you bit into it. I don't know how he does this without making the crust hard to chew. The crust has a mild butter flavor but it's not overpowering, nothing like the GE butter crust. Excellent execution of the crust. The sauce is a wonderfully seasoned chunky tomato sauce that's neither too spicy or acidic. Chef Rob blends oregano and other spices so well in this sauce. It complements the cheese so well. (The famous pan pizza sauce in comparison is bland and sometimes acidic.)The I rarely order cheese only pizzas but would consider a cheese only "Chicago Style Pan". The balance between cheese and sauce is perfect. Balance or toppings ratio is important to me and just as their thin crust always has a proper balance of sauce, cheese and toppings this likewise holds true with the CSP. Some places think they are doing you a favor by piling on cheese to the detriment of the other ingredients. Hey, if that floats your boat, more power to you but I like to taste all of the ingredients in each bite. The sausage is good, not heavy on fennel and doesn't overpower other toppings. He uses an appropriate amount of sausage that ensures a piece in every other bite. This allows your taste buds to appreciate the sauce, cheese and other toppings while alternately enjoying the sausage flavor. My first "pizza love" is thin crust by far. We order pan pizza maybe a couple of times a year. I'm sure many of you on this page do likewise. My guess is that you probably order from the famous guy that has lots of restaurants. Having had both I can tell you without pause that Pizza Kitchen, LLC (Wood Dale) Chicago Style Pan is a better pizza read more

Ordered catering for a birthday party and food was not bad, but not the greatest. I did like that the pizzas were nice and thin with a crispy crust. The Italian beef had great flavor and the au jus was seasoning perfectly. Most places can be salty. Mostaccioli lacked seasoning or even a Parmesan cheese would have been nice on the side but it wasn't provided. The Mac and cheese though...was just noodles with a tinge of yellow. No flavor or creaminess what so ever. A lot of the guests were disappointed by the pastas. The salad looked appetizing but the lettuce was wet. Secondly, service was okay, we didn't exactly get what we order when it comes to drink, the bartender wasn't working so we just had someone who hasn't made a drink make one, first mistake, we wanted a cup of lemonade as a chaser and two shots of patron each, when we got our drink we got it all in two glasses, instead of separate, we dealt with it and moved on. This is the first time that I've walked into The Pizza Kitchen, LLC. It was on Chicago's Best (if you remember that show) and was in the newspaper as voted for having the best deep dish and thin crust pizza in Illinois. So you already knew I had to try it out! Let me start by saying Lori, the owner, is so nice. Very humble. Took the time to introduce herself to my family and I. Made sure we were doing ok throughout the entire time that we were dining there. FOOD: ORDER THE GARLIC KNOTS!! They are to die for ! The sauce is great , the knots are crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. You won't be disappointed! We ended up ordering a thin crust, half sausage / half pepperoni pizza. The sausages are big and so good! The pepperoni was crispy, just how I like it. The cheese def did not get hard or dry after a few minutes which is good. Because some pizzas do. The crust was thin and crispy ! Also, their Mac & Cheese is amazing ! So creamy ! Nothing like I've had before. Made from scratch by the owner! My daughter is so picky with food and let me tell you, she approved ! Everything is made from scratch ! They don't have microwaves in the back. As a kid I remembered always asking to get pizza from the local spot in West Chicago which is long gone now. And while I was working a couple jobs ago in Lisle I had a slice. I can't explain how or what happened. But that pizza place we got when I was a kid WAS FUCKING BESTED!!!!! The flash back hit me first. I was a kid again. Then there was more!!!! It's definitely a hidden gem. We try different Chicago style pizza places whenever we are in town, which is about a dozen. This one is in our top 2, possibly tied for #1. There isn't anything I didn't enjoy about the pizza. The crust stayed crisp and wasn't too thick, or thin. The sausage had an excellent flavor. And overall the entire pizza came across very fresh and flavorful and they did not skimp on the toppings. Staff was friendly and attentive. My friend and I went to The Pizza Kitchen for the first time, and we LOvED it! We both had fresh, homemade sangria that was delicious! We shared a half pepperoni/half sausage and pepperoni double dough/deep dish pizza. I am usually picky about this sauce - this homemade pizza sauce is the best I have ever had! It was ready in the time quoted (about 45 min for deep dish). Everything tasted great! The owner, (Laurie) and our waitress were so pleasant and cheerful! They checked in with us and ensured we had all we needed. The restaurant itself was clean and had available seating inside or outside. Staff wore masks at all times. Tables were spaced apart for distancing. While there, we were the only patrons inside, so we felt comfortable sitting indoors. It was definitely a five star experience and I know we will be returning in the near future! I highly recommend The Pizza Kitchen, and look forward to returning for pizza, or to try other things on their extensive menu (including kid-friendly mac and cheese, beef sandwiches, and more)! read more

This place is amazing! Best deep dish I've ever had! We ordered pasta, the Da Nots (sounds like donuts) and a Chicago style deep dish. Couldn't have been more pleased with the food, absolutely delicious. Service was great and genuine and the owner even came around to make sure we were happy with our meal. I feel like I can coach the Bears to a winning season after eating here. I now see why Mike Ditka was so pissed all the time, it's because this place wasn't around when he was playing and coaching.
