The pretzel was huge and a big highlight. Also like the nachos. And you get a ton. The sandwiches and pizza were just ok. Not the biggest fan of the style of fries stuffed in them. But plenty of other options.

It may surprise some to know how many times I've hung out in Pittsburgh in the last 16 years or so,…read morebecause I've never been to a Primanti Bros. before. But then again, I am vegetarian, so I didn't think they offered anything for me. I've looked at the menu online more than once, and didn't see any sandwiches designated vegetarian each time. But I was meeting a friend before a concert on the RMU campus, and this was conveniently located 1 mile away, and it had food and beer. I kept an open mind and figured, I'll just modify one of their sandwiches. When I arrived, I learned they also have a pizza option. But I still thought... when in Rome... There was a black bean option listed on their wall menu, but the waitress double-checked for me and we learned together that they use to offer that option, but no longer do. Damn. There was however a cheese (no meat) option on the menu, which I was surprised wasn't on the online menu. But I'll take it! Their sandwiches are interesting in that instead of sides of french fries and cole slaw, the sides are just stacked into the sandwich to make it a quick easy convenient meal! The draft beer selection was good, the sandwich was decent enough, and the service was great (weekday evening). In the end, I am not sure I'd run back for my one sandwich menu option, maybe I'd try their pizza, or go for some sides, or just stop in for a beer on my way to my next show. I enjoyed the vibe and most everthing about the place, but the sandwich was just okay.

I don't mind spice, I'll try about anything once, and I'm a fairly frequent diner at traditional Indian sit down places. I know this isn't that. I had the naandilla with some samosa. I'm pretty sure the samosa was reheated or frozen. Which a bit of a let down for me, just not quite what I expect from samosa. The naandilla wasn't bad. There was some sort of flavor that sort of overtook me the whole time: chemical tasting is the best I can explain it. I don't think it was chemicals: it's akin to when you get a wine that was aged in one of the burnt barrels. It just has a bit of a taste. The concept of the naandilla is neat. Overall, not bad. Finished it all, it came out piping hot. I did order it 7/10 hot and didn't feel like I was struggling really. (I figured this may be the case sense it seemed geared towards Americanized clients). My nose ran a tiny bit but I could take a lot more. Seems like a family establishment. Prices felt a tad steep for what I got. I have no glaring complaints. But I also am not leaving wowed.

We were coming home from the Pittsburgh Airport and the convenience of the Robinson area is unmatched. Luckily my wife thought of Piada and well... now it may be our airport trip go to! The fresh ingredients, the made to order meat options, and the efficiency of the handcrafted food... Piada is what all other "fast" foods wish they could be! We both ordered an Avocado Rolled Piada with Crispy Chicken and fountain drinks. I tacked on a Spinach Artichoke Piada Stick as well. The process of watching them create the rolled piadas is artistry. The dash of oil and spices, the attention to spread out the toppings instead of just dumping them in the middle, my wife even asked for less tomatoes from the corn mixture... and the employee did the best to separate them out. The food is AMAZING!! The toppings were all fresh and crisp, the chicken was juicy and hot, and the piada was perfectly constructed. The new Spinach Artichoke was like having a constructed spinach artichoke dip. No need to dip though... just take a bite of this delicious wrap! Even the fountain drinks were a pleasant surprise with multiple fresh brewed teas to select! The store is very modern and clean with cute Italian Street decor and plenty of options to sit from bar tops, regular tables, high top tables! They really aim to make the dine in experience worth your while too!
